  1. So using this method it is currently not possible to ADD new items/armors/weapons using this method because of problems with creating new Monobehaviors? Am I understanding this right? What is the problem exactly with creating new Monobehaviors/Prefabs for use in the game? Could you just copy an existing one and modify it or would that also not work?
  2. You don't understand the problem. He's one-shotting whole groups without the use of any resource (besides 1 point of Mortification). Because Swift Flurry leads to an endless chain reaction. It doesn't matter how pitiful the damage per hit is - as long as if you get an endless amount of them. The more enemies you can hit the more likely it is to happen. One shot and - boom - everybody is dead. The probem is that Swift Flurry's bonus attacks can proc other Swift Flurry bonus attacks - and so on. Also works with Rod + Blast, Kalakoth's Minor Blights, the one unique pollaxe that lets you swirls around, Citzal's Spirit Lance and basically all AoE weapons. I see what you mean, honestly, I hadn't used Swift Flurry on any character yet. That does sound pretty broken. Also on this note, there is a mod on Nexus that alters Swift Flurry to give an instant recovery on crit instead. Might resolve the issue some have with it temporarily. Mod can be found here: https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/54
  3. I'm sure there will be a mod coming any day now. Oh god, Obsidian will have it's own plague of **** and Ass mods, I can just see it now...
  4. Yeah. Was curious why I've not seen others seeing it. You're not using any mods which alter stringtables are you? If not, it's probably a typo in the originals.
  5. LOL! No - but having played POE (the first 1) to 100% complete and was able to always settle the things that COULD be settled peacefully... It's odd that I tried this quest three times total, and could not figure out how to get this to resolve peacefully for all. I mean there's clearly a way to do it - and that link shows it - which I didn't look it up (I usually do that on a second play through to see what I missed) when I initially played (and tried, three times). And considering how much I love the story and the world (my obsession of getting POE1 100%) should let you know I am not skimming the text. I am devouring it and taking it all into my brain. I wasn't really accusing you of anything, just kind of don't understand your reasoning that's all. Like I said, I got it on the first try. I guess you just weren't lucky with the trial and error thing, sorry to hear it.
  6. ... we've had 2 major patches fixing bugs since release a little over a week ago. We've had ONE hotfix that primarily dealt with the issues related to importing save files (which is a pointless feature anyway considering that PoE 1 choices don't affect the plot of Deadfire in any meaningful way). Pillars 1 received significant updates (2.0 and 3.0) with tons of QoL features and bug fixes, while the planned DLC for Deadfire and another pointless sidekick don't inspire confidence. After all is said and done, this game is gonna end up abandoned like Tides of Numenera - a broken mess. Not true, we've had patch 1.01 and patch 1.02 neither of which were hotfixes. Hotfixes are tiny patches meant to fix one specific issue. Multiple issues have been fixed/addressed between these two patches including: pillars 1 imports, fixes to the amount of reputation gained per action, fixes to a few of the bugged achievements, fixes to issues with saving custom AI behaviors (I actually experienced this one before the patch), some fixes to the memory leak problem experienced by some users (although many have said its not entirely fixed it is much better). Not to mention they have been very forthcoming with developer interaction both here on the forums, just look at the sheer volume of threads with [OBS] tags in the main 3 forums (there are a lot of them). Developers have been answering numerous specific questions such as "Will there be the ability to skip the intro scene?" A: yes, "Will POTD difficulty be increased?" A: yes patch 1.1. About 20 minutes ago they just made another announcement with details about patch 1.1, what it will include and when it will be released. It's on steam go read it. Being released next month. Finally, your comment about the stuff on POE1 those updates/patches came MONTHS after release. We've had two patches in the first week of release, access to public dev beta branch, numerous open commentary from developers, notifications about 3 DLCs upfront (this was not the case with White March 1 and 2), and now we have a confirmation message of the first major update a mere week and a half after release. So your statements are just not true, proveably so.
  7. This is an interesting bug, probably means there is a typo in one of the string files.
  8. This isn't a bug you played the encounter wrong. To resolve it peacefully you do not warn the Valaria, I forget the exact path but there is an option to encourage a meeting while talking to the Valarian elder. You go back to the other house then tell her they want to meet. There are a couple of back and forths. Why do you think they wouldn't act hostile if they knew you betrayed their trust? She specifically tells you when you leave to not let them find out about her hiring you to spy on them. See the 4th post in this thread where I said: I thought the same thing that because I had mentioned the vault thing... so I restored, redid the whole thing - and she still turned aggressive. So since I wanted to side with the Bardattos, I figured there's apparently no way to actually make this a peaceful ending - and ended up completing the quests for her - and letting the Val family go for the vault and ambush the Val family member there - then go to their house and slaughter them after. Le Sigh. I am moving on past it, but yes - it's either poorly written (my sole complaint about the game so far!) or buggy. It's not poorly written lol. Are you saying that you should be able to directly betray her trust by doing the thing she specifically tells you not to do and still resolve peacefully? That makes no sense from a diplomatic standpoint. This is actually one of the better written dialogue quests in the game, there are several different outcomes all of which are peaceful.
  9. Interesting. I had my Diplomacy at 8 when I started this quest ... and was never able to convince her. Anyone else able to resolve this quest peacefully? That link makes it look way too easy... and it didn't seem to work out no matter what I tried. Yes, I resolved peacefully on the first try. The key to resolving any conflict peacefully in Deadfire is to not do anything that the character's personality will be specifically peeved by. Like I said above, this is directly indicated in this instance in the first conversation with the Bardettos matriarch (e.g. "Don't let them find out we are behind this").
  10. This isn't a bug you played the encounter wrong. To resolve it peacefully you do not warn the Valeria, I forget the exact path but there is an option to encourage a meeting while talking to the Valeria elder. You go back to the other house then tell her they want to meet. There are a couple of back and forths. Why do you think they wouldn't act hostile if they knew you betrayed their trust? She specifically tells you when you leave to not let them find out about her hiring you to spy on them. Btw, you also have to mediate the meeting between the two once you set it up. And there are several different outcomes here as well (some of which are only available with certain dispositions or skill checks)
  11. Where did you get this information? There are no reputable sources of accurate sales figures for this game yet. There are numerous people speculating based on indirect information such as sales reviews and peak hours played on steam. These don't take into account other markets in which POE2 has been very blatantly outperforming other competitors for weeks even before release (GOG being a prominent example). If you couple this with the fact that almost no Obsidian financial resources were used to create the game (because it was crowdfunded) this means whatever they are making now is almost entirely net profit. Also, I don't know what you are talking about POE1 received okay after release support but it wasn't anything special. In fact, the devs have been far more engaged here on the forums with players this time around than during the last launch, we've had 2 major patches fixing bugs since release a little over a week ago. Another major patch which has been hinted specifics for the quality of life features (such as bypassing the starting sequence) and other bugs and increased modding support has been announced already. We know upfront this time we will be receiving 3 DLC packages with teased story content, and we even know when the first one will hit (July). Please don't spread misinformation.
  12. This is on my list of mod notes currently. I keep a couple of journal entries while playing on things I think should be changed. This will require editing the game assembly though, which I can do now with the help of patchwork framework. A lot of the things I have planned are on hold for the moment though for several reasons, so no idea when I might get around to that specific thing.
  13. Include a list of computer specs and crash log. It's difficult to diagnose errors like this without more information.
