QUick QUestion: Aefyllath Ues Mith Fyr + Burning Lash
Not my experience with a FoD paladin - but I didn't do reverse engineering so I might be wrong. But I might be right again if we talk about foes with 0 DR.

QUick QUestion: Aefyllath Ues Mith Fyr + Burning Lash
We're taking about pure weapon attack, not from skills. So when I have sword with crush dmg+ fire lash dmg enchant, I'd have 25% fire dmg from crush dmg. Then I'd take scion of flame talent my result would be what? crush dmg+ fire lash dmg , so 25%+20% increased by scion of flame=45% of first primary crush dmg? So in Your opinion talents which increase elmental dmg, work on everything: skills/ lashes from pure weapon attack/skills which works as lasheses (FoD,Aefyllath Ues Mith Fyr), not just with skills with DoT effect like Combusting Wounds, same as periodical skills such as Wicked Briars(assumig that this skill would have elemental dmg ofc)? No. If you deal 100 damage then it's +25 with the lash. Then Scion of Flame adds 20% of that 25. So it's 100 + 25 + (25*0.2 = 5). So with Scion you will have a +30% lash instead of a 25%. Also doesn't work with The Dragon Thrashed for example.

They stack, but I'm not sure they're added. If I remember well each lash is treated separately vs DR/4 and the resulted damages are added.Last time I looked up the combat log it said "and xy burn damage" only once. Also the damage numbers where so that I doubt that more than 100% DR got subtracted. If you use Firebrand you will get a message like "x burn damage and y burn damage". Then DR gets subtracted twice. So I think that lashes add up. I have no proof though.

3.0 Cipher Build idea
ROFL. Yes, if you cure the dragon you can still kill it afterwards. Also if you walk away after curing it and come back later.

[Class Build] Cipher: A beginner's guide to GUNMAGE
It's not only about the soul shock. It's about the focus because you lower DR by 6. That's like 6 more damage per shot. 11 if you took Penetrating Shot. Soul shock will not trigger too often because you don't have Twinned Arrows nor Driving Flight.

Fun DPS builds?
A melee rogue with high damage per hit: using great swords and summon Firebrand from time to time. It's base damage is huge and it's also annihilating, meaning double damage on crits. For the times you don't summon it: Hours of St. Rumbalt is nice for a crit build. It has +12 ACC from the start. It also has annihilation and does prone on crit. You can always open fights with a shot from an arquebus or arbalest (Aedrins Wrecker is nice later on because it comes superb). But I think when it comes to raw DPS not much will beat the Resolution/Purgatory setup because you can have quite some Full Attacks as a rogue. Knockdown also becomes a full attack now if I'm not mistaken. Put on a Girdle of the Driving Wave for another Full Attack then.

They also work on lashes. But they don't work with any DoT effect! No idea conc. Purge of Toxins. Never use that...

3.0 Cipher Build idea
Spelltongue will increase the durations of your buffs - cipher powers included. Drawn in Spring's wounding does not generate extra focus.

How are people finding the 3.0 patch changes?
Really? Nice to hear. I always found that the step from lvl 7 to 8 was too steep.

Is there going to be a sequel? If yes, will it still run on linux?
And rightfully so. I don't hate Windows or OSX by the way - they all have their pros and cons.

I work with Linux all day (self employed) and don't want to put on Windows onto my machine just for gaming. And I really hate Wine (the software). Luckily I don't like all these AAA titles like GTA and stuff too much so I don't have to skip a lot of games. Steam + Linux is very convenient by the way.

Companion builds
Just flank with the animal companion. That's enough and there's no immunity against it. Very nice if the other flanker is a rogue. Later on you will have Stunning Shots and maybe Stormcaller with Returning Storm (=AoE stun) - that's easy then. You could also use the knockdown of the pet itself. It's not so bad as it used to be because they buffed the duration.

Nope - no DoT effect does.

[Class Build] Cipher: A beginner's guide to GUNMAGE
The fact that there are very nice unique hunting bows doesn't make the unique war bows bad. Cloudpiercer (rending + jolting touch), Sabra Marie (confusing), Rain of Godagh Field (speed) and Borresaine (draining, stunning) ar all very good in my opinion. Ok - I also always go for Stormcaller of Persistence, but still... Stormcaller is very good for building focus because of the -6 shock DR. I would choose it for my bow cipher - if had no ranger in the party of course.

Fun DPS builds?
As I said you can hit several targets - one after the other and watch them bleed out. This can be an equivalent of AoE damage. If you use a ranged weapon for example you can shoot one foe after the other. When you return to your initial target, it will have suffered a lot from the DoT effects and those will soon run out. This also works with melee weapons if you play a tanky rogue and get surrounded by several foes (you can also use Retaliation to apply Deep Wounds by the way). That way you can spare some points of DEX and still do lots of damage. If you use scrolls or spell bindings like Concussive Missiles to apply Deep Wounds, the INT not only helps to boost the DoT damage (I assume you don't want to use a scroll every few seconds to refresh the effect ) but also wit hthe size of the AoE. Last not least - your afflictions from special attacks last longer. Another thing are the cross-class talents. Now that they are all 1/encounter, Outlander's Frenzy and Aspirant's Mark are good choices for a rogue. With high INT you can hit an entire group of enemies for a long time for -8 deflection and reflex. This is great for rogues who build on crits. Combine that with Gallant's Focus and Weapon Focus and you'll get a ton of crits. Outlander's Frenzy has a longer duration with high INT. You can reach 0 recovery with it (by yourself and without consumables) and therefore boost you DPS into the stratosphere where few other talents can put it. GOod thing, too: you don't need any DEX to do that. I know a lot of people think INT is wasted on a rogue, but I don't think so.

Regrowth of plants
Really? That has to be new. I never experienced that - but I would appreciate it.

Might be the case. For example: the capes/cloaks-plugin is not crossplatform. Damn it!

[Class Build] Blunderbuss Cipher: Hard/PotD difficulty
That's right. If you want to target lower DR foes anyway (as you should do) then blunderbuss is good. It's even better if you have means of lowering DR (Expose Vulnerabilities for example).

Few questions
Yup. Every DoT effect does as far as I know. Or I should say: I didn't encounter a DoT effect that did not count.

Fun DPS builds?
What I totally forgot about Deep Wounds: You can apply it in an AoE if you use any scroll or spell that causes crush, pierce or slash damage (from Spell Bind items like Bittercut for example). It's really great to cause 20 raw damage in an AoE plus the initial damage of the spell. Another reason I like to go with high MIG and INT and Depp Wounds on my rogues... edit: Depp Wounds? Savvy?

Few questions
The Dragon Thrashed plus Come, Sweet Winds of Death is nice in conjunction with Combusting Wounds because this way you can set up two DoT effects that tick down with one chanter who has to do nothing but sing. So a chanter with those two chants can generate 10 extra burn damage per tick with Combusting Wounds while the both chants overlap. I have two cahnters with those and a wizard with Combusting Wounds as Mastered Spell - 20 extra burn damage every 3 seconds is just awesome. Ah - and my ranger's animal companion also likes those DoT chants.

Oh - he didn't mention me?
-

Don't think so. They are using Unity and now have a solid code foundation and more experience - also with deployment to Linux. And they would loose me as a customer if they didn't support Linux - I'm pretty sure that'S enough of a reason not to drop Linux support.

I think characters should get a couple of free talents at the start
What? You use Field Triage?

Regrowth of plants
They don't grow back. But shops will generate more parts over time.
