Companion builds
Outlande's Frenzy on the Devil seems also be a nice idea. Durgan steel, two speedy weapons, two weapon style and this should lead to a zero recovery build even with the armor.

1.05.0567 "Disorienting" debuff (-5 all defenses) stacks with itself - BUG or WAD ?
I find -5 with stacking to be quite balanced. -10 non stacking would just be good for very slow hitting builds while faster ones would be punished. Maybe they should just nerf the duration from 5 to 3 sec so a very fast char can't stack it to ridicoulous amounts.

Best hunting bow for ranger?
Noooo! And it's only one weapon with which you can stack it to a certain amount (Lost Thayn's Reach).

Companion builds
Well the devil is a construct an thus has the immunities of a construct for example (poison? Sickened?). You could build something around this. For example you could use the Devil as bait and then unleash a ton of poison spells on top of her while the mob attacks her. Don't know if this works, just an idea. Edit: Oops - I somehow skipped that part of your post - sorry! But yeah - which build works with the companions could also be the question. For example Sagani can be build into a lot of ranger variants since most of them don't rely on minmaxed stats or a special animal comp. I also thin that Durance can easily be build into AndreaColombos support priest and Zahua can be the Juggernaut monk. But since there a lot of 1/encounter talents now that everybody can use - maybe there are some ideas how to build unusual companions. For example a shapeshifted Hiravas with Outlander's Frenzy sounds fun.

Best hunting bow for ranger?
We'll see how they handle this. Aarik said the way the effect gets applied will be changed. So maybe they apply a new affliction "disoriented" which can't stack instead of applying an effect that is named after the weapon. Or something like that. If they do this then even disorienting effects of different weapons won't stack. I wonder if they realized that the interfering enchantment also stacks...

Companion builds
Hi! Now - with the 3.0 beta patch and some of it's changes (multi class talents 1/encounter, new items, survival buffs etc) I would really like to do some nice (and maybe weird) builds with the official companions. For example Pallegina could be build into a nice gun firing, missile throwing dps/support char now. Two FoD shots with haste, Wrath of the Five Suns, Prestidigitator's Missiles, Penetrating Shot and so on... I really like the multiclass talents now. For example Aspirant's Mark is really good. Do you have some nice ideas for companion builds?

So how do you guys feel about 3.0 so far ?
It's awesome. Big AoE and long duration. Especially good for fighters, rogues and barbs with on-crit effects. The high ACC of fighters and rogues often lead to a crit when casting this - prolonging duration even further. Also Prestigitator's Missiles are good now. They work with Penetrating Shot and Driving Flight (maybe even with stunning shots?) and can do some nice damage on low DR foes. They also work with Deep Wounds. Maybe Sneak Attack also gets applied. Good for chars with guns if they need to fire off a shot now but are still reloading.

How are people finding the 3.0 patch changes?
Sworn Enemy instantly applies it's effects on an enemy. The missiles take some time to reach the target and then the rolls are made (miss/graze/hit/crit, damage roll and so on). So I see no reason why Wrath of the Five Suns shouldn't profit from Sworn Enemy. It should behave like any other Missile Spell. I think with these improvements Pallegina turns from an OK companion to one of the best. There's also a priest spell, spelltongue and a mage spell that prolong buff durations (besides INT) - so maybe you can stretch that +20% attack speed buff from Pallegina. I would like it even better if the duration was even shorter but attack speed and reload speed would be buffed by +70% instead.

merchant buybacks
Would be really cool if you could give items, esp. uniques, to your stronghold merchant and he tries to get some other ones (uniques - also rare creature parts and stuff) in exchange. Or if you could just build a gallery, put your trophies in there (heads of bosses, unique items you don't use) and host some exhibitions. Would give lots of prestige I assume...

The multiclass talents ARE 1/encounter now. At least in the 3.0 beta branch.

Any advice on melee rogue DPS on POTD?
I think in general it's deflection>DR>endurance. But some foes especially focus classes. For example fampyrs will always try to reach my casters first - no matter how tanky they are.

Please add animal companion's damage to char sheet
Hi, atm it's impossible to compare the damage a ranger with his animal companion does to that other party members do. Would it be possible to add this information?

The stacking of disorienting (Lenas Er) is now considered a bug (Aarik) and will likely be fixed soon. Same for Scon Mica's roar and stuff.

Blunderbusses
Do you mean unique blunderbusses? Then what PJ said.

I haven't tested that yet - I'm on vacation with the family - and without computer. Storm caller's shock DR reduction is -6 by the way.

And I would like to recommend some punctuation. Not only for rogues - but in general. Every class can be improved with some solid, conservative punctuation. A sabre and a small shield are a good setup for a rogue. You don't loose a lot of DPS if you don't go for all the "Full Attack" abilities but gain a lot of survivability.

Durance or Pallegina?
Why can't an engineer be female? In this special case because "The Engineer" is my male Engineer build (you can find in this forum) who uses the same talents - and Pallegina is his wife because... you know... she's female? @DreamWayfarer: roflmao

Question on the Antipathetic Field
Even better! It's a bit sluggish though.

1.05.0567 "Disorienting" debuff (-5 all defenses) stacks with itself - BUG or WAD ?
Maaaan! I was just playing 6 barbs with disorienting and proning weapons, lowering defenses to zero because of this stacking and doing crits all the time. It was hilarious - and you destroyed it! Well - it was inevitable I think... But you have to stack quite some attack speed for this. I would leave it as it is. It's just powerful with a barb because of carnage. In 3.0 beta it still stacks by the way. Also from different sources (White Spire + Vile Loner e.g.) - hope that this last point will not change!

Durance or Pallegina?
Hehe - the Engineer's Wife.

Durance or Pallegina?
Argh! OK - back to Wrath of the Five Suns: I just read that damage is per projectile - and there are five of it. That's not crappy at all! Esp. with 10 DR bypass. Wonder if Penetrating Shot works. You could give her Prestidigitator's Missiles and some Spell Binding items with Minor Missile and a Blunderbuss and make her Mage Killer No. 1.

[Class Build] The Juggernaut - a heavy armored Monk
Still rocks in Act 3. If you skilled for fists and put on heavy armor and +speed items the duplicates really wreak havok.
-
Cipher 3.0 - roll a Wizard instead
Every time I use Tenous Grasp from stealth the confused enemy gets beaten to death by his comrades or severely wounded. What I don't like about Whisper of Treason is indeed it's longer casting time. Charmed enemies suffer a hefty debuff, but I still dislike how long it takes.
-
Durance or Pallegina?
OK, Wrath of the Five Suns is crap (if the damage doesn't scale with level) - but the Attack Speed buff is perfect for my Leech Barb build if it stacks with other speed buffs. I will call it Neverending Haste - whoohoo!

Vulnerable Attack worth it on a Monk?
Generally speaking: Vulnerable Attack obviously gets better the faster you hit. That's because it's like a flat +5 damage bonus instead of the usual percent based modifiers. You should do the math with a DEX score of 20 and see what happens. If your attacks (doesn't matter if with lashes or however) do more than 5 damage in the time that Vulnerable Attack slows you down - then don't take Vulnerable Attack. If your Attack Speed is >2.19 then it's obvious that you should use Vulnerable Attack because it doesn't slow you down. Besides that: your math looks right (without armor).
