Rogue specialization toward using items as a secondary feature is great. It is nice lore-wise, gives them enough raw power and is radically different from other classes. I'm pretty sure the current design is not intentionnal because Deathblow is not consistent with sneak attack. But it would be great if the Devs keep it. It seems to be the design choice for Tides of Numenera by the way.

Basically, the ability to use items and scrolls is : Rogue>>martials>>casters (also given than a class defensive passives are still important when you use items) Which is basically and fortunately the opposite of class balance. Among the best abilities for an item user are : -Deathblows -Dirty Fighting -Deep wounds -Disciplined barrage -Driving Flight -Sworn ennemy and of course base Accuracy ! Chanters are good items user too, not because they are specifically good at ut, but because they can still chant while using items.

Thanks for suggestion, as indeed I meant single weapon and not one-handed. So, in the end which variant does sound better?:- "when not using an ability, and having single weapon (1H or 2H) or wielding a shield" - "when not using an ability and (wielding a single weapon or using a shield)" - "when auto-attacking while wielding a single weapon or shield" ... IMHO: "when not using an ability, and having single weapon (1H or 2H) or wielding a shield"

DAoM has made wizz the strongest offensive class since 1.0. It was just not as obvious as now as long as people weren't familiar with his unequal low level spells. Alternatively, you can consider Rogue as ultimate spell caster (who said Death Maelstorm Blows ?)

Good to know that spells are so fast. I think DAoM should be greyed out. If you could also add Nature's bounty too

Run a Paladin with coordinating attack + marking weapons. Darcozzi temporary inspiring liberation is icing on the cake, but a +20 switchable infinite duration accuracy bonus is the cake itself. So feel free to pick any order IMHO. Pliambo per casitas is a good weapon for this role, and works nicely with FoD too. Blade of the endless path is great too as a melee versiob AND DON T NEED THAT MUCH ENCHANTING MATERIAL.

I meant dual wielding itself. The talent is in the table, exactly where I expected it to be. Dual wielding is somehow in the table because it affects what MaxQuest call "recovery factor". My understanding was the same as yours, Boeroer, but apparently MaxQuest has a new formula, different from what we both thought to be right.

I was considering to create a poll about rogue abilities buff in general discussions. I'm going to limit the ideas to "not too complicated to implement ideas". Maybe this won't be the ideal solutions, but getting something like stackable deep wound would still be nice (even for people who think rogue is okay). I'll add a secondary poll about "which direction rogue should evolve ?". This would be for more complex changes. I don't expect these to be implemented for PoE1, but I think it would be nice to send a feedback to the devs for PoE2. Rogue was pointed least liked class in a recent poll, so I think it is a good idea to express about what could make them better. Feel free to make some suggestions. I'll try to add them in one of these categories ^^

Isn't dual wielding recovery recently changed ? I thought it was a big 0.5 added to speed coeff ? (or if you prefer, a separate coef of blue category valued to 1.5) If changed, it means that reached 0 recovery is almost as complicated with dual wielding (apart for style talent bonus) as with single weapons...

Without goodies like Crown of the faithful, your best defense will be Mindweb. If you're worrying about having not enough magic items, go monk. At least some weapons you won't have to worry. You're going to miss durgan steel for everyone. Casters don't care much about Durgan, but this could be a trouble with non casters. Only 2 non casters have weapons equivalent to durganized ones : monk with fists and Stormcaller ranger. Chanters weapon are a bit less critical too. Think about it. You will have enough durgan for everyone's primary set if you bring 2 characters that don't need it. So 2 monks or 1 monk and 1 ranger could be a good idea. By the way antelope is a very good pet, better IMO than bear for offtanking because bear has a crappy attack speed.

So it's 25% damages BEFORE DR as raw damages ? Plus a normal MIG bonus applied to this 25% ? And INT and duration are irrelevant for the total damages ? (except that low INT implies faster damages) It should be close to a ×1.5 multiplicator, then. And much more reliable against high DR as pointed. That makes Persistance, Tidefall and drawn in spring top DPS weapons for their style. Eventually, it's a contest between tidefall and drawn in spring for the title of best DPS melee weapons. Side question : does boar wounding work the same ?

The last time I walked my pet spider in the park IRL, the poor little thing couldn't keep up with my speed. Next time, I would get a wasp pet. -
Probably Tidefall + legendary + lash + alacrity (potion/twin stings) + gauntlet is the very top. 0 recovery is even more fun with 2 hander ^^ Coordinating + Stunning double Clad' spear has some potential too, due to Stun being also a strong def debuff. Drawn in Spring can get a +4 accuracy for a main character by the way ^^

When I have a lot of focus, I need to react quickly (puppetmaster is instant cast) and the ennemies are powerful and limited in numbers. Also, my cipher was a boreal dwarf and ennemies were primordial (bloody pwgra now with working maggots...). Which meant I had a lot of chances of success and didn't need to save Focus. Puppetmaster basically saved my group against a big group of druids and Pwgra by allowing me to turn 2 Menpwgra extremelly quickly. I don'think there could could have been a better spell in this particular case. I also plan to use puppetmaster against the alpine to wipe the adds

I really appreciate the 3.0 design of the cipher spells. My cipher is currently level 8, she has 4 single target CC (whispers, mental binding, puppetmaster and silent scream) and each one seem to be the best in some situation even if they have slightly similar function. And then, there's druid. With druid, you're praying to trade your level 6, 7, and sometimes even 8 spell slots against more level 5 ones. It is not only Relentless Storm. Plague Swarm, firebug, Earth Talon, they all belong to the same level... Level 1-4th are great too...
