2/10 , Come Back next term Might > Dex Hunting Bow < Anything Driving Flight - Wasted Skill Vicious Aim>Swift Aim Imo At the moment rangers suffer from same problem monks suffered first week of PoE : everybody was sure that you got to play monk with bare fists without armor and qq on forums when it doesnt work , now we got the same problem where everybody thinks that Ranger = Hunter = Hunting Bow = MUCH DAMAGEZ WITH BOWZ , well its not . There are ways to build it so no rogue can come close to your damage when it matters and if rogue outdamages you on last 2 enemies in fight well nobody gives a fck because ranger just 1 hit four squishy mages/archers thus wining the fight . For me it is like this : Ranged Rogue - Max Range , Sneaky , Silent , Marksman who uses surprise factor to do steady long range dps from safe distance. Ranger - Mid range ( 8 m range ) gunner/disruptor who can burst harder than any1 else in the game , can use AC to controll the fight , and his CC (Stuning shots / Roots ) to protect back line and provide single target ranged cc . At the moment my Battlemage is lvl 9 , using Eders armor , It is already exceptional with 11 DR and i am not planing to change it any time soon , 11 dr is enough for some1 who can buff himself this hard as battlemage and 2nd chance helps when you get crit ,also pierce proofed is nice , basicly i use it on battlemage because : for maintank its just plain bad as it has 7 DR when eder "donates" it for you meanwhile some backer npc has shiny plate armor with 12 dr but for an offtank who doesnt want to gimp his recovery speed too much its perfect choice

This discussion happened alrdy on other threads : rangers with war bows dont do half the damage of the real build , i played both and it is massive difference , also rogue with same warbow will outdamage ranger atleast twice Reloading can be improved in many many ways ( gunner , swift aim , chanters chant , weapon with speed like forgiveness or holdwall , and last but not least le quick switch)

Build your wizard tankier more battlemagish than pure glasscanon caster use it for cc , aoe , and offtanking with + 60 deflection self buffs its not like u can reliably spam dps with your mage for first 9 levels , but 1 slicken is better than 5 fireballs , also lvl 2 spells has infuse vital essence that makes you on par with other tanks , also when your wizard can be a frontliner and take damage nothing stops you from fan of flaming them 3 times in a row , it gets way harder if your wizard cant go to frontlines because he insta dies I go for minimum dexterity and i use armor that i steal from eder at lvl 2 , might and int should be close to max rest resolve perception and const(atleast 10), even with -60%~ recovery speed from saints war armor and min dex i can still spam spells one after another prety much ( you can cast before the animation of previous spell ends ) also i should mention that this build wont work as 2nd tank , it is purelly offtank build for holding the line against potd mass groups of enemies

... okay So Why Rogue works with a Bow : Sneak attack ( not the point ) , CRIT TALENTS ( Thats the point of the build ) rogue can stack ton of crit chance only from the class talents ( if you include racial its even more beast but i take wood elf still ) , thus making fast attacking bows crit more often and crit for huge damage because of sneak attack. Sneak Attack works on any debuffed target not only from stealth , also rogue can open from stealth using blinding strike and have it reset for the fight because its per encounter , and wizard can cast str8 after that. Enough about the rogue i dont rly like the class either i prefer ranger. Quick Switch being cheese? its a talent.... that requires building whole char arround it ( racial+specific guns+other talents) i dont understand you now :D that is like the purest non cheese way to get unique character in this game imo . using a Quick Switch talent is definetly not cheese . it actually reminds me of AC: Black Flag where you could have 4 guns and shoot them once each :D If you got no blunderbuss'es for your ranger then going Arbalest with Gunner talent and Chanters reload chant is the only viable way , to do any damage . Bows works if you crit alot and ranger really doesn't . Also try to avoid investing any talents into your pet .

dont know what racial maximum is but that sounds way less of a critical mistake than replacing the class that carry new players in this game( Durance carried my first playtrough all the way tbh that healing.... 10 heals per fight? np you want more 15? np ) with a Rogue that is just not what people expect it to be tbh and why would some1 be telling people replace x with y if they dont know it? as clearly he doesnt ? is giving advice when you know jack **** normal thing nowdays ?? i doubt it .

Well why would he misguide some1 who asks for advice its just stupid thing to do telling fake info to new players thus making their expierence worse. If you dont know what to say why say something ? why would beginner drop best healing / buffing class for one of the hardest to play and not so rewarding melee classes? that are flawed by glorious pathfinding on PoE? I think if some1 asks for help and advice its our duty as members of the forums to give him best advice possible , and that guy is either trolling or not ready to advice some1 . And to add : Get used to it when you go out into real world kid , people will call you w/e they want and idiot is not even an insult its a diagnose more than an insult.

I would go for ranged rogue , kick ass class and esp if its a watcher ( player character has special skills) you can run no armor low constitution and duel anything that gets trough your front liners , also after maxing might and dexterity it leaves you with alot of spare points ( nothing else except max might and max dex is mandatory for rogue and tbh not rly needed ) , you can put these spare points either into perception or intelect ( or even max both if you leave con at 3 ) these will provide you with the dialogue choices , also never make critical mistake with PoE builds , dont have all stats above 10 or something like that , in PoE you either go Max stat or Min stat or its constitution and you put there w/e is left , dont ever make chars with 16 perception or 15 intelect , always go for max( or min if you dont need the stat) so you can get all the dialogue options and max benefit from the stat ( stuff gets better more you stack it in this game ) Having something at 10 will mean that you have nothing and wasted 7 points.

What would be your class of choice guys for Retaliation Dual Wielder , Rogue? Barbarian? Cipher? Fighter? and why ? what weapons? this kind of melee seems like i could play ( dont rly melee much ever in RPG's unless its a tank)

As said many times , Blunderbuss is a superior weapon to arbalest , with penetrating shots , and even tho Blunderbuss doesnt apply 6 envenomed strkes but it always apply the best envenomed strke out of 6 projectiles so : Your envenomed strke can miss , graze, hit or crit , and with blunderbuss out of 6 envenomed strikes the game will choose the one that crit , i saw this theorycrafting in envenomed strike thread . Also Blunderuss will usually do more damage than arbalest , only reason to use arbalest is if you got few more weapon sets unlocked so you use arbalest for first hit because it has 12 m range , and then switch to blunderbuss'es , also BOW's only works for rogues and even then arbalests are better , bow just does negative damage on Path of the damned , but with Ranged Rogue Sneak Attack+Crit build Bow can be viable , Also If you want to build Min/Maxed Pure Max Damage ranger : You need 4 Weapon sets + 3 blunderbusses + fast reload weapon + quick switch , other builds dont even do half of the damage i played ranger since release on every party , finished game twice already with it , nothing can wreck face harder than 3 Quick Switched Blunderbuss with 3 Envenomed Strikes , after that your damage slows down ( if there are any enemies left after the quick switch barrage) thats why you need fast reload weapon like Forgiveness or Hold-Wall for 4th Weapon Set( even if hold wall doesnt work now with reload speed it will soon after a patch ) , also ranger has no good talents and this is what makes this build the best there is you take ranger skills and Offensive+Utility Talents

Tankier your char less con you need , i run my rangers and ranged rogues with 15 con because all of the stats except Might and Dex are useless to them , and they use no armor , Meanwhile my main tank paladin has 10 CoN and only advantage of this is that i dont really need to heal him ever if i went 3 con i could maybe built more might and went for some last hiting order like Wayfarers

If your PC is perma Blinded , dont worry thats just an icon , it doesnt affect you at all ! same goes for all other crap that perma stays on you also its easily fixable on hirelings but with PC you cant dismiss him from party so just ignore it . Had my Ranger PC Blinded since Before Act 2 untill the end of the game but it was just an icon bug tho no actual effect

Mark my words : First good CRPG of new gaming age , WONT be funded by Kick Starter As soon as some company will decide to make next gen CRPG without KS , they will invest their own money and deliver 25 times better product than all of the Bugstarter crap , now there is just no point to not get lazy and start slacking when you already got paid for the game before you started creating it

POTD Ironman has critical flaw : 9 out of 10 fights you auto attack enemies with your ranged weapons while being afk , 1 out of 10 fights just outnumbers you 3 to 1 when you are running 6 people party so you have to use those figurines to even the numbers and then its same old auto attacking while afk , and then there is Adra Dragon who AOE 1 Shot your party , bah... its just lame... i was expecting path of the damned to be more Challenging in terms of how you need to use more strategy and tactics , but there is no tactics at all , its either you can Auto Attack fight to death , or you need summons to not get overrun by adds , also i believe 20 trash mob groups are worst design to increase difficulty , there is no difference for me to Fan of Flames 10 or 20 or 30 mobs especially when anything more than 5 enemies gets stuck between themselves standing in line doing nothing , there is no balance between encounters , only balanced encounters i saw were group's of Ogres , and groups of adventurers , where every group has from 4 to 7 enemies who are each strong individually
