  1. Am I? run through hosango, poka kohara, drowned borrows and few other places in Upscaled Potd. Run takes about an hour on average.
  2. No, it is not but thanks for the note. Actually, it would be correct to say .. damage per my run .. which then makes it clear how little meaning it has.
  3. dph=damage per combat hour I believe "damage per playtime hour" would be more accurate. If a single combat lasted one hour, Evoker, for example, would fire nukes in the first minute then auto-attack for the rest of combat. DPS is meaningless without context. Here the context is quite complex, from starting on a beach to the final boss. Solo Evoker, for example, would not last one hour in combat, unlike let's say Paladin, so Evoker damage per hour is in such context meaningless. In a party, with spell refresh between encounters, context is different and dps has value. btw was it not obvious that Evoker has highest dps?
  4. I was under the wrong impression that Shock Shield would heal me if I hit myself with for Shock damage under Frenzy. Played it to level 12 to find out .. well, as the greatest Czech Jára Cimrman would say, someone has to discover blind allies for the rest of us.
  5. Barring Death's Door is imo one of the most powerful* abilities/spells there is. -- edit:* and fun and interesting and ingenious .. unlike cast ****ing empowered Missiles. Boom! I won. ****ing Deadfire Messi
  6. If I hit myself for negative damage, do I heal? edit: oh forget it, I cant read .. edit1: but apparently not always? that sucks
  7. Well, we are getting off topic but this is my favorite topic so I will say my piece. How good is a wizard, the strongest class, in DLC? The strongest. Though almost everyone I saw plays Monks, Paladins, Fighters or Rogues and I can only guess its because nobody likes to be the strongest. ok tx bai
  8. That's definitely a good way to go about it. Thankfully, Barbarian has Blooded, which shows up when you get Bloodied. Human has Fighting Spirit, and then Godlike has their racial passives as well. Also, a lot of the difficulty in PotD is frontloaded on Port Maje. Once you get out into the world, there's enough items you can sneak to/steal that it's not too hard to get pretty well-equipped. Nemnok's Cloak is a great item for a Marauder. It gives Spirit Shield at 75%, Ironskin at 50% (Overwrites Spirit Shield and, probably, the +2 Armor from the Constitution inspiration), and Barring Death's Door at 25% (Not sure if it scales off of your intellect duration-wise). +5 Armor on top of the heavier armor you'll already be wearing for a build like this definitely helps. Here's a video showing a method of acquiring it early - (Though it does require playing solo and pumping Stealth. Not sure how high their Stealth was in this video. I actually thought this was one of your threads. Which isn't a bad thing since you do offer inspiration and we do need more RP themed builds in this section. Anyways, I'd recommend Holy Slayer, mostly because I always love Paladins that aren't bound to be Lawful Good, and because Holy Slayer is actually quite useful. You can teleport around with Escape, you get access to a Blind, and I haven't really gotten too high level with my HS yet so thats all I know. I just need to work out a good script for the AI. Haha, thank you! I feel like I've made a thread for quite a few different multiclasses, or at least trying to decide between different ones. I'm wanting to try out different roleplaying concepts too, but unfortunately there's only so many character archetypes you can play in this game, compared to something like Skyrim. I wish there was a way to sort of... disable the main quest and allow for more of a free-roaming make-your-own adventure story, with Ukaizo as the prize. But that'd require an extreme bit of modding. The Holy Slayer area blind can be upgraded to apply a 40% damage vulnerability on enemies - this applies to your whole party. Couple that with Brand Enemy, and that's a pretty hefty damage boost right there, even if you don't go Streetfighter. Trickster + Riposte is a great way to play Holy Slayer, since you'll be in the thick of things, but Streetfighter by itself definitely brings on the hurt. Streetfighter, on its own, offers a 160% damage boost against Sneak Attack vulnerable targets while Flanked or Bloodied, and insane Crit damage when both conditions are met. So, any class you pair with it is going to get that on top of everything else the class already offers. Swashbuckler, Holy Slayer, Marauder, Shadowdancer (Though Shattered Pillar Monks have been nerfed some), and really any other kind of mixed melee class you can think of are wonderful choices. She has Stealth 3 @ level 15. By that time I have Stealth around 18-20 on Marauder and she can walk around enemies unnoticed all the time. For solo, I would definitely go high Stealth at first as it allows very useful shenanigans, and respec later.
  9. My issue with that is having to remain bloodied and/or flanked to proc the Streetfighter's bonuses. And I really don't like relying on Blunderbusses to achieve that, if at all possible. How is that an issue? I do not use the Blunderbuss mechanic myself. Lord Darryn's Voulge is AoE weapon. Melee AoE implies being surrounded by or being engaged by multiple enemies. The other halberd is also AoE with transfer effect ability. Unless you heavily RP Marauder can use any other weapon occasionally without the need to invest in weapon specialization. For tanking there is Eder for everything else melee related there is Marauder. If you want a good fighter with good survivability you pick Rouge/Fighter or Paladin. If you want a tornado you pick Berserker. The malus to recovery from Streetfighter is negated by Frenzy alone. Add speed bonuses on kills, and there will be many bloody slaugthers, and even without the Streefighter recovery and crit bonus, fast sneak attacks on debuffed enemies will do good damage. And when it gets Bloodied, gg for mooks.
  10. Streetfighter, because it provides insane bonuses and synergies and anything else, in my opinion, just waters down the monster Marauder is for questionable benefits. Devoted is less impressive than flexibility to inflict the appropriate type of damage, Bleak Walker provides FoD but Barbaric Smash is better to click and same goes for Shattered Pillar resource refound. As we talked about this before, it depends on what you want to do with the character. Massive AoE damage of all types, strong CC and even DoTs, mobility, utility and tactical options via invisibility and blink, high risk and reward play, this is Streetfighter/Berserker.
  11. First I was like .. what is he a ****ing roleplayer now?! .. but the remark about dps calmed me down
  12. Reason for uneven spell per PL distribution for Illusionist escapes me. I do not have a solution but in my opinion Wizard sub-classes and perhaps even spells would deserve a thorough review. The current two cast per PL together with grimoire mechanics, sub-class design and spell per PL distribution do not provide very cool Wizard experience.
  13. @Raven Darkholme: not to derail this thread too much with semantics, but I consider auto-attacking and sustain capable of overcoming any encounter, except a trap , more powerful than empowered meteor capable of doing the same. On topic, there are a couple of things I do not understand about the challenge. - Why is the goal to kill bosses and not other encounters? This way builds will focus on boss killing and will avoid non-boss encounters leaving much of the game unchallenged. - How is Smoke Veil different from Withdraw, rule #9? In fact, I consider Withdraw more powerful than invisibility because for most practical purposes it functions more or less same while Withdraw reliably ends combat and can act as a panic button. - Legendary Captain rank?
  14. Mostly because it pretty much couldn't happen by accident. YMMV, I suppose. What do you mean by accident? Did pre 1.1 recovery on DoC breastplate happen by accident? If its possible to stack defenses so high that it makes a player untouchable, how figurines, per rest bonuses, and empower matter? I do not understand what matrix you use to determine what needs to be balanced and whatnot. Seems to me it does not have a rational base. Clarification: it couldn't happen to a player by accident. The only way a run like this would realistically happen is if the player made a conscious choice to do so, at which point you're really metagaming so intensely that you may as well be allowed to see what happens. (As a general word of advice, I would hesitate to ascribe motive to an opinion without a significant base of evidence, were I you.) As a general advice, I would hesitate to use strawman in an argument. What motive? If there is rational base feel free to present it. Cute and fun is not rational base. It's a single player game, cute and fun is absolute a rational base when it's a out entertainment. Get over yourself. Why are you getting so bent over something someone can do if they wish in a single player game. Multiplayer with unfair advantage against other players? sure You really have nothing better to do then direct your ire at how someone else enjoys a game? I've been video gaming for the entire history of home video games, and I never understood people like you. "What? THEY enjoy the game in a way the I don't approve? HOW DARE THEY!" lol
