  1. Most of the time 2x casts will work. The number of fights where that becomes an issue you could probably count on two hands at the very most. And those fights are so outside the norm of the game that they don't reside anywhere on the critical path to completion. (And in those cases you can still make it work with limited casts if you know how to make it work). Personally I find boss fights to be the least interesting fights in the entire game. Mostly because there isn't a lot of creativity involved in beating a boss. Most of them are either straightforward or gimmick fights. There are not a lot of options for how to beat them due to the specific efficiency constraints with no catch up mechanics going on at all. So what you are saying is that 2x cast is enough, for you, because you can beat fights with it? I can also beat fights with it but I still have a cipher to Brilliant me all the time because I want to cast what I want 4x if needed. I don't care I can cast something I don't need 2x. Even if there was only a single fight in the game where 2x cast per PL would not be enough, it still would prove my point: since killing trash is not a problem, the ability to kill it cannot be a measure for the strength of a class. Wizard, the strongest class.
  2. Indeed, some crazy slow fights, but in my opinion, they are what matters. Also, XY spell casts tell little about let's say power potential because while it is nice to cast Infuse with Vital Essence, twice, does **** all direct damage. XY cast of any spell or group of spells. well, that is a different story, that is chanter. So again, yeah its nice to have wizard lagging the screen when killing trash but when it comes to crunch time Infuse with Vital Essence 2x will not cut it.
  3. Tactician/Wizard can inflict Flanked relatively easy (that is the synergy) through several means and can control the battlefield (synergy with Tactician ..) while Paladin/Bloodmage is able to heal back damage taken from Blood Sacrifice. I am not entirely sure if Bloodmage is the best pick for Tactician, but maybe its convenient to have a way to get some spells back in situations when it's not possible to get Brilliant.
  4. It's not about whether I, as a caster, can kill a boss with a whole party. It's about running out of resources in such fights. If you are not running out of resources, then I am indeed doing something wrong.
  5. The fact that caster can easily overcome regular encounters by using 2-3 spell per PL is in my eyes pretty much irrelevant because, well, its trash mobs and trash mobs are killed by sneezing at them. Prolonged fights, usually boss fights, is what matters and there 2-3 casts per PL, in comparison to classes with high sustain or refreshing resources, fall apart. It's great to have a caster to clear trash, but how does it compare to unhittable and unkillable pala/X is beyond me.
  6. Had lots of fun with Tactician/Trickster: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/106911-theorycrafting-thoughts-on-new-classes-patch-40-beta/?p=2125759 Also been watching Victor Tactician/Bloodmage PotD solo run while playing Steel Garrote/Bloodmage myself and both are viable imo.
  7. I do not think that completing quests in the Gullets has influence over reputations with Principi.
  8. During Task "Sealed Fate" fight Principi ambushers. In Dunnage, The King's Coffin, steal where, what seems to be, sex workers are. During the Quest "The Shipwright's Plight" pick Principi reputation loss option during dialogue with alley thugs. and indeed killing Mad Morena. the above, sinking perhaps a couple of other Principi captains though not sure it mattered, got to me -3 and spawned Arteiro the Avenger. Also had one bar blue with them before it went negative. There are perhaps more ways to lose rep with them so it should not be a problem unless the rep is high already.
  9. Depends on your playstyle. For example, Combusting Wounds, Slicken, Thrust of Tattered Veils (100% hit and interrupt), Miasma, or even Ray of Fire. If you try stuff you will see soon enough what works and whatnot for you.
  10. Kinda happy to share, did not know where to put it. Overleveled but that is the business and even cleaning up can have its oops moments.
  11. Wizard Double ... I am kind of mirroring Raven Darkholme Twitch playthrough with Steel Garrot/Bloodmage so we are about same level doing same content, level 16 now. From my experience, comparing Tactician/BM and Pala/BM, seems to me they perform about the same* just with different tools. Pala, obviously, is without Brilliant but has more sustain. Right now I can Bloodsacrifice 4-5 times in a row, to get spells back, without risking to kill myself, which happened on lower levels, and heal back to full in no time. Those who like to cast a lot, Tactician/Bloodmage. Those who like to cast and hit, Paladin/Bloodmage. All in all, Bloodmage, the strongest class. --- *edit: this only applies overall. In cases when Tactician gets Brilliant early and is able to keep it, there is no contest as it can cast infinite spells.
  12. Well, I just think its stupid mechanic. Sure, I could say something like its .. balance breaking mechanic or perhaps a mechanic undermining the validity of meta-power building for ultimate in-game challenges but I just think its stupid. Pushing it .. my intent is not to push anyone, as far as I know. Strong opinion, sure. I mean and as I said, anyone can have Arcana build, and this fact can not, in my opinion, have positive or perhaps exciting connotations from meta-building perspective.
  13. Not sure if you want to know what I think but since you asked .. any build, except drugged Nalpazca, highly dependent on consumables is not cheesy nor legit, its plain stupid. The idea that any character can take high Arcana and beat the toughest fights with it is plain stupid.
  14. Not sure what is going on but could be interaction with Lover's Bond? On a related note, Edér has Inaccurate and Double Barrel effects from Red Hand while he never used it. Red Hand is being used by the watcher here who has Lover's Bond with Edér. --- Also, when watcher with equipped Modwyr, without upgrades, summons Essential Phantom, it attacks with fits like if it would not recognize it has the sword equipped.
