  1. "Guilty" kinda. My biggest problem was with the baby in Twin Elms, i understood the pain of the leader and after all i respected their cultur (who i am to judge) but no way i would kill a baby. On the otherside helping his son murdering his father was also a no go, but in my eyes still the better option, so i got the poison...turns out i couldn´t convince him to drink it because of lack of stats (that is stupid Obsidian..) and i had to kill everyone in there! That left a very bitter taste.
  2. Aye, wasn't trying to imply you were. I'm always very slow the 1st time through any game. Whatever the "average" time is said to be to complete a game, inside my head I double or triple it, because I know that's how I am. Not sure exactly why. I'm not trying to go super slow. Just a combo of all things I mentioned above. I guess I just spend a ton of time in menus/inventory and sort of just "messing around" than actually playing in terms of progressing, if that makes sense. On repeated playthrus, if I do any, it's always much much faster of course. I´m the same, i try to spend as much time and explore read anything. The more i think about it, the more i realise that i could have spend more time in the game, i guess i had a hard time getting into the gameworld because my playtime was scattered for various reasons. I wouldn´t be surprised if the second game takes me longer than then first one, that´s the plan now anyway
  3. Not exactly news, but the daily steam deal is awesome for everyone who loves point&click adventures...11 games and most of them are pretty good....too good for me to resist
  4. I´m curious, what did surprise you about DA:I, what did you like? As i said i might buy it, but i´m just not sure...even with low expectations it looks very blant. As for EA, yeah...they are the devil
  5. Unfortunaly yes...a VERY long time. I enjoy the show a lot though, the problem with the show is, it makes me want the new book(s) even more. Damn it, finish it allready He's likely to die first. The latest is he's trying to finish book 6 before the next TV season. So, if we're lucky we might see Winds of Winter next spring. Which puts the final book (if book seven even is the final book), at a conservative 2022 release. GRRM has obviously given up on finishing the books before the TV show beats him to it. Don´t say that! He isn´t allowed to die I think he said he always knew the show would end before the books. I would be surprised if the show get´s more than 7 seasons. It´s very expensive and you also have the problems with the actors getting older etc. GoT changes enough to be it´s own thing, which isn´t bad. What i´m very curious about is, if the ending in the show (assuming it´s done before the last book) will be the same as in the book. (IF we ever see a last)
  6. Well there are several sleep cycles according to sience: http://www.collective-evolution.com/2013/07/13/alternative-sleep-cycles-7-10-hours-is-not-needed/ Each with it´s own advantages and disadvantages. Which to me says "we just don´t know" :D
  7. I will never understand how cops can even get away with all this in the USA. I just don´t get it. Land of the free...more like police state.
  8. Well i don´t think its any of my business. To me this is just another stupid law that doesn´t effect anything realy, it won´t stop memes, but by looking at the backstory, which DID cause people damage, i can see the intend. But it doesn´t change a thing, people will still look at memes and make them, just like people in the UK will still make and look at all the banned porn there (which is even more of a ridiculous law than this)
  9. I must be misunderstanding, are you saying this type of event, which is clamping down on freedom of expression , is common in Western countries? In case it's completely missed you, which it seems to have done, the issue is not merely about 'freedom of expression'. There are other issues at play. Libel and fraud being two of them, both of which are recognized in western law (to varying degrees depending on where you live). As I said before, I can't read Russian so can't get at the finer points of the law, but as it's been represented, there actually may be little wrong with it, and very well might even stand up as a law in the U.S.. We have legislation on the books in regards to Libel and Fraud already, which, situationally could apply to memes. The thing about memes in the U.S. though is that it would generally be hard to prove who was responsible for it, one meme alone isn't usually damaging, and the people behind most of them are idiots without much money, so a civil suit is almost never going to be feasible because of these and other factors. Very well said and i agree. In fact there isn´t that much difference in free speech if you compare russia and the west. The whole idea that everyone in the east is oppressed is realy nothing but a propaganda tool, too many people believe Russia today is still like the Soviet Union, well it´s not Also, concerning free speech in the west...i always saw it more like a farce full of double standarts, but before i write another mega post i will just point to this article, which is a decent view on it, in my opinion: http://www.presstv.com/Detail/2015/01/10/392456/The-farce-of-Western-free-speech
  10. You thought this game took place on Earth? Hmm. Maybe in a far far far far far away future http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/earth-rotation-summer-solstice/ Though i don´t think anything will live on this planet anymore
  11. I also played ranger and noticed this, pets are very very easily killed. In the end i didn´t even care about it anymore and just used it´s takedown to get rid of an enemy for a short time in fights. Ranger was a little bit...underwhelming.
  12. True, i only stayed on normal speed+stealth all the time in the last lvls of endless path, thanks to the traps i couldn´t get rid of (very annoying). Most of the time i was in stealth and double speed because it IS very slow otherwise. I too had some moments were i had no idea what to choose in convos, also i did reload sometimes just to test out an other option, it´s not like i deliberately rushed thru the game :D As i said it´s not a problem for me, just a surprise, i like the game, and will play again after the next one or two patches when they cleared up the bugs a bit more
  13. There's a limit on the choices. I edited it to 30-39 just to be sure. I doubt there's someone who'll beat the game under 30 hours. But who knows. Considering my experience that would be no problem at all, if you want to. I don´t know...i´m fine with my 46h (51 on steam..don´t know how the game counts it), the most value for me will come with future playthroughs anyway. However it was surprising, just before i got Pillars i played thru BG1 again -> 60h and my first game of Divinity OS took me 80h. So it seems a little bit low *shrug*
  14. Same here stronghold achievement doesn´t work, i did however lost walls at one point.
  15. Hm...i feel strange when i read the answers :D 46h on normal. DId every quest i could find, all bounties, endless path, companion quests and read most books and dialogue (though i´m a fast reader). Not sure what you could even do in 120 hours without just standing around o.O
  16. Not a big fan of this spell/trap. Sure it´s handy if you have it, though it never worked for me on the Adra-Dragon as an example. Getting stunlocked to death was not what i would describe as "fun".
  17. I knew something like this would come up, not dissapointed
  18. Maybe, it´s not like i have anything against him, especially considering how great it was to talk with him before they were sold to EA. It was..i guess dissapointing. Me too, still i bought every game (until DA:I) just in hope they could turn around again, god i could rage on about ME3 and SwtoR...better not :D ME2..thinking about it, it shares a smiliarity to DA2 in the sense that the side content, like the companion quests and sidemissions were great. I loved the idea and how the ending played too. But the overall story gave me a headache. I would like to point to smudboys youtube channel who did an analysis on ME2-3 but also on DA2 if anyone is interested or bored, being a hobby writer myself i found it very interesting. Link: https://www.youtube.com/user/smudboy/playlists Anyway, i think i will buy DA:I in two weeks, seeing as my retailer (i know him) has offered it me for ~20.- bucks. I might just give it a go.
  19. I´m not in love with it but i don´t have a problem either. WIthout the lvl cap you would become too powerful. The endfight is already very easy on normal with a lvl 12 party.
  20. Oh well, i don´t think he really needs that considering his high approval raitings with the population. Also it has nothing to do with him, the backstory on this is here: http://www.vocativ.com/world/russia/the-unusual-case-that-led-to-russias-new-meme-ban/?PageSpeed=noscript If anyone cares, i dont really *shrug*
  21. It wasn´t a a problem specific to him. DA:A was a buggy mess of a game and still is because they never bothered to fix real issues. There was a big thread about the silverlite mine bug, which left your character stripped of all your equipment, leaving your char naked and useless. In my eyes a game-breaking issue. Of course people were upset and wanted them to fix it. This lead to Gaider makeing a pretty...well arrogant post on how they are not obliged to fix anything and telling the players thats basically it. You can imagine the response. I felt like pointing out to him that not only was he wrong because on how the law works in most countries, (and it doesn´t matter where Bioware is based, it matters where they release the game) but also thats not exactly how you should respond to your customers. Well it was a heated debate. Anyway i went to the retailer and got my money back and still have the game. So it was a win/win for me. But as a Bioware fan for so many years that naturally pissed me off and considering the games that came after didn´t anything to improve my opinion i just stayed away from them and the forum. To me they are another studio EA has destroyed, they are not the same anymore. Sadly.
  22. Unfortunaly yes...a VERY long time. I enjoy the show a lot though, the problem with the show is, it makes me want the new book(s) even more. Damn it, finish it allready
  23. I think the current classes are more than enough...however i would like to see a multi-class option :>
  24. The old Bioware forum was great. The devs were talkative and helpful. I spend nights with a great community and devs talking about games. Don´t even get me started on the new Bioware Network and how some act now. I had a little clash with Gaider about DA:A and it didn´t went well But i also haven´t been there since the ME3 ending discussion... I hope you enjoy DA2 a bit. You are right, in theory it sounds good and i think, given more time, it would have been a lot better. Unfortunaly the game clearly shows that it was rushed out the door to meet EA´s deadline. But it´s also the writing, you don´t really have an impact on the story, and nothing changes much. You make timejumps in years and you don´t ever feel that because it´s just the same and yes there is a lot of cheese :D Companions are also a mixed bag, Varic is written very well in my opinion and then there is Fenris which should have been called "the average emo-anime character" yuck. However you can get it cheap and if you don´t expect too much it should be enjoyable enough for a low price. My opinion at last
  25. To be fair, i never saw BG as it´s own game, considering it´s one big story arc that covers BG1+2+ToB. Then you get the ending. At last thats how i see it I wouldn´t say lacking...a little bit anticlimatic maybe, but that ending makes me hope for a second game, and an expansion has allready been announced.
