  1. I'd hate to ruin your dreams, but allow me to do so anyway:
  2. Vampire? Where? When? Do want.
  3. Thank you for these - they're awesome! I'll be stealing them for a future dwarf rogue run.
  4. On that note, isn't it weird that gods have skeletons at all? I remember there being graphic descriptions about Abydon's bones and guts in WM, and that they seemed to make clear that these physicalities seem to hold at least some of the import that they do for mortals. But why? I mean, you'd think that a ridiculously powerful soul-powered creature wouldn't require the same physical framework we do to stand upright. This is an interesting point. Would Wael even have a skeleton to begin with? Dude's all about being a Lovecraftian totally-not-Tzeentch blob of weirdness.
  5. You people and your crazy ideas. A vithrack companion? How quaint. I say let's go full exotic. I say let's do something completely and mind-bustingly unexpected, like... ...I dunno... ...a FREAKING FULL-FLEDGED DWARF COMPANION. (I'm not disgruntled, I just like to ctrl+B things. I love you guys.)
  6. Ehhh. You're nuts. Since my countryman above appears to be an overtly cynical man who may or may not be Edwin, I'll offer a different perspective: It's true that the new companions have arcs that may feel "meh" - they're too brief, too abrupt, and don't have enough time to breathe. However, this is a problem with the expansion's format, length, limited resources, and the unfortunate split of its content. It's not really a fault of the companions themselves, who - despite their shortcomings - are all very clearly tied into the driving theme/question of the expansion. None of these people are with you for the long game, but that doesn't mean they're inherently bad characters. I mean, I might agree that someone like Maneha is poorly realized, especially seeing how she barely acknowledges the large swaths of plot that are focused on her deity and therefore should be of immediate concern to her. On the other end of the spectrum, however, there is Zahua who is a great companion to have throughout both parts of WM. For one, he's a wonderfully written character created by the lead narrative designer of the game (and, incidentally, the guy who created Eder), and the one dude whose arc in WM2 gets proper foreshadowing in WM1. From a mechanical/content volume standpoint, he also speaks a lot and interjects frequently during conversations (unlike Maneha). He offers insight that is consistent and makes sense (unlike Maneha, again). He's also, well, fun (unlike... eh, you get the point). From a broader perspective, I also felt that his storyline realizes the core theme of the expansion the best, and would probably call him the most Pillars-y of new party members. There is no such thing as a true happy ending for Zahua, certainly not in the way that he envisions as his "happy ending". Naturally, it's ultimately a matter of taste, but I find that way more interesting than a simple binary checkbox of "have you done his personal quest?". To undersell someone like Zahua as a junkie hobo is like saying Eder is a dumb inbred hillbilly - misinformed at best, and disingenuous at worst. If you want to give one of the WM companions a shot, I'd definitely recommend Zahua. As for the core companions, Hiravias is a good pick. There's a scripted event very early into WM1 that has multiples variables and outcomes, and I'm pretty sure Hiravias is the only party member who can fulfill ninety percent of its arcane requirements without absurd prep time.
  7. No, there are 3 routes. You either storm in, stealth in to the forge and steal ship OR stealth in, go outside and do the quest with Mirke to make a party and blow Benwett up with a planted bomb when he plays the piano thing. And if you do it the Mirke way, you also get to talk to Syri the Siren who tells you about Remaro and his room before he left. You can also throw the party and NOT blow him up, but talk him down. You can also have the pirates steal his ship and you lure him to the outside walls and you can talk him down there. Aeldys is less angry if you keep him alive. The best course of action imho is letting him live and then forgetting his name when talking to Aeldys. Aka the path of maximum disrespect.
  8. Indeed, congrats!
  9. Such a handsome boy! Glad he's felling better, too.
  10. Show us pictures of your wiener!
  11. The new Stellaris content pack is coming out today (yay!), so it'll be that in a couple of hours.
  12. I didn't really care for Abydon in the base game, but after WM 1 and 2, I suddenly found myself wishing for an option to play a (dwarf) priest of Abydon. So, long story short: yes.
  13. So, is there any way to spawn/respawn ships on the world map? Mods, console commands, anything? Blasting things with Double Bronzers is fun, but I really don't want it to end too soon.
  14. I'm fine with Black Jacket since it's clearly meant to be a gimmick sub. It's not meant to compete, it's there for fun reasons mostly. On the other hand, I can definitely agree that the wizard specializations do not offer enough for all the penalties they bring. They kind of suffer from the same problem most of the wizard specs from NWN2 suffered: they'd probably be fine in an environment where you have access to a virtually infinite number of different spells (so, P&P), but in a situation where you have a limited spell repertoire (video game), giving up access to an entire school of magic is way too punishing.
  15. Gameplay-wise, yeah. The main plot, on the other hand...
  16. I’m probably going to get some flak for this, but words can’t describe how glad I was that almost every class spell/ability is Per Encounter now. I had way more fun with my Loremaster than I had expected.
  17. To be fair, that lady looks ruthless.
  18. Jesus Christ, man. I'm getting tired just by reading the descriptions. Make no mistake, though: I admire your tenacity. This is one great endeavor. Good job!
  19. Where are you getting this from? When and where did Josh address the topic?
