  1. Meanwhile, Feargus Urquhart is on record saying that the only way to crowdfund a game above the 4 million USD (iirc) mark is to make a board game instead. Jesus. That’s a lot of money.
  2. Nah, the thing you can play at the moment is essentialy a tech demo version of the multiplayer part - assuming you have a lot of horsepower under your desk. Not that long ago an update made the game almost unplayable even on very high end computers. Oh, huh. Thanks for the clarification. Quite an anomaly of a game.
  3. Since you're doing Dessiral's bounties, a quick heads-up: the Katrenn bounty in Sacred Stair suffers from the exact same issue, but it's much worse because her bodyguards like to cook bystanders in AoE fire. Either take her out by herself and run or try to lure the group to a place where there are no NPCs (which may be somewhat harder).
  4. ^ Thank you for the explanation. Judging from the discussion, I'm guessing that it's also the only part that has been released to the public so far?
  5. If WM is any indication, I think there's a good chance that Abydon's godlike would end up looking like downscaled versions of the Eyeless. They were, after all, described as being parts of him through which he could be reformed in need. Going by Deadfire, this makes them suspiciously similar to godlike.
  6. I don't see that as a killswitch trigger. Hell, I don't even see that as an expression of self-awareness. Much like Abydon before him, Eothas seems to be taking his pre-programmed role to its logical conclusion. He's the god of compassion, benevolence, and rebirth. Similarly to Abydon, this isn't really about defying the system as much as him trying to achieve the ultimate expression of his function. He was made to love kith unconditionally, and to him, destroying the Wheel is clearly the most benevolent course of action for all kith at the moment - everything else, like his own existence, is secondary. If this were Magran, or Ondra, or whomever, sure, a case could be made for such actions constituting an act of defiance. Not so for Eothas, who seems to be running his "compassion" routines as usual.
  7. All jokes aside, I don't think her backstory and job description mesh particularly well with romance.
  8. What exactly is Squadron 42? I don't follow Star Citizen, so the this whole discussion seems pretty arcane to me. Still, I thought it wasn't out yet? I'm so confused.
  9. Wasn’t Eric contracted to write Eder for Deadfire? I remember that being the thing. Well, I double-checked the details, and you're right. In the end, Josh's work on Eder seems to be less "taken over" and more "filled in the gaps". 10. If you want more conspiracy fodder: Pallegina was written by Josh Sawyer. Eder had been written by Eric Fenstermaker, and then taken over by Josh Sawyer for the sequel. They're both credited as his writers for Deadfire. Neither character ends up being romanceable. *flies away*
  11. I had a very similar reaction when I saw Abydon in Deadfire. See, I don't agree that all of the gods look better in the fanart than they do in-game, but there is one stroke of artistic brilliance in that fanart's depiction of Abydon that, to me, makes it trump the version(s) that we get to meet canonically: He's eyeless.
  12. Woden's memories in PoE 1 describe Waidwen as a man with a halo of blinding light around his head, so I imagine Eothas' godlikes would take on similar characteristics. The whole three stars motif would probably be incorporated somewhere in there, too. As for Eothas' god form, it may be extremely non-canon with that we know right now, but I've always enjoyed this fanart's depiction of him:
  13. Is the Thursday update the Norsca update? If so, color me excited!
  14. My ship crew doesn't love me, they prefer to play Orlan's Head and the image they use looks strangely like my Watcher...Ha! I was so upset there was no special reaction for an orlan Captain. But... there is! I had different dialogue on my Wild Orlan, with special race tag in the text and all that. Basically, the sailors involved are horribly and predictably uncomfortable. Maybe it depends on the personality types of the crew chosen for the event?
  15. Now that you mention it, there's that Nosferatu playthrough I never really came around to do. Excuse me.
  16. I guess I worded my query poorly, but either way, thank you for being charitable enough to indulge me.
  17. Pallegina probably lost two levels for every sun scratched off her breastplate.
  18. ^ I need to give that one a whirl. If it's anything like Tenchu, I would definitely enjoy it.
  19. So, seeing how this is the topic for Everything Else, and I’m new to the forums, I have a honest (yet perhaps stupid) question: Is it just me, or do the folks of this subforum interact very little with the rest of the boards?
  20. I feel for you. For me, depression always has a way of reducing any extended period of free time into an exercise in counting hours until work. Here’s hoping your next week will be at least slightly brighter.
