That's what I initially assumed, but the wiki lists these two separate ending conditions for Eder: +Edér believes in the gods, Bearn saved and convinced the Lighted Path were wrong +Edér believes in the gods, Bearn saved but still believes in the Lighted Path Additionally, both are illustrated with different ending slides. In other words, it is possible somehow to make Bearn less bitter about the whole ordeal. Thing is, I don't know how to achieve this.

So, I've been replaying the part where you have to talk Bearn out of drinking poison, and... It seems like no matter what I do I can't get him to see the error of the Lighted Path's ways, so he ends up being bitter. Still, according to the wiki, getting through to him is apparently something that should be achievable here. Does anyone know what exactly makes Bearn exit the showdown happy? Aside from ritual suicide, of course.

I don't. I get enough of that in real life. Driving a sharp, bleak crucifix in the nuts may be enjoyable if it's a movie and you're watching something by someone like Lars von Trier. In a game that prizes itself on the multitude of ways to take on and/or invest yourself in the world before you, saying that it was ultimately all for naught is the last thing I usually want to hear. But that's just me.

I think you can undo most of the damage using this. -
Robe models
Skazz replied to LordofBones's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
That's a good point. You're right. I just wish there was more variety in robe styles than a one-piece gown with buttons. And Xoti a good example. Or, hell, Aloth. That custom Aedyran-style wizard toga is extremely cool. In the end, both make your robed Watcher look like someone who has just crawled out from a dinner at a nearby dumpster. -
Robe models

While we're at it, Xoti-style robes for the player would be kind of neat. They look great, but as it stands, it's just weird going around stealing the companions' unique clothes for your character. -
Holy crap, dude. Now I won't be able to get that out of my head ever. WHY

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - VISUAL NOVELS ALLOWED
Skazz replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Meh, some people being rude about some guy dying is pretty tame compared to people starving their kids, coaches molesting young children or mass murders and wanton violence you read in the news these days. So is a whisper before a shout Sure. I still don't get how anyone could possibly celebrate another person's death. Being indifferent, sure. But celebrating? RIP TB. Kungen tanks all. -
The Weird, Random or Interesting Things That Fit Nowhere Else Thread

Sooo... does this mean the Regent of Terra has given his official endorsement? -
Oh, wow. I'm wondering how this kind of thing never happened to, say, Avenue Q.

In addition to her ramblings, as Yria said, the quest itself just comes out and says it. "I've convinced Xoti to work with the animancers atop the Spire of the Soul-Seers in Neketaka in order to aid their research in creating an artificial rebirthing process. It is our best means for surviving once Eothas breaks the Wheel." Considering her companion quest revolves around Neketaka and doesn't take very long to finish, there's a good chance you'll come across this spoiler before you've even touched Hasongo - or even the faction questlines. Yup. It's the old "Sagani spoils Thaos" oversight all over again. In general, there seems to be something really odd going on with Xoti's conversations, as this isn't the only time she mentions things that are either out of sequence or assume that you've talked to her about certain topics beforehand (e.g. her having nightmares). On an unrelated note, you have an extraordinarily disturbing avatar, sir.

Yet another Aloth Thread
Skazz replied to Slotharingia's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
This times twenty. The Unity mod is extremely easy to use, doesn't block achievements, and is a godsend for bypassing any relationship bugs that may occur during a playthrough. That and the many other nice things it allows you to do on the fly (like fixing a messy respec or freely enchanting any non-unique weapon or armor you can find). I was on the fence with going through with my "main" playthrough until I downloaded the mod. After that, there wasn't much point in waiting anymore.
