  1. Um... I'm afraid your age is showing, sir. Have you seen him lately? Guys still hot. Sure. Still, it's a choice that sounds a little passé.
  2. They do count as dual wielding, but for a barbarian it is probably not worth keeping the gun due to full attacks. I suggest that you read this https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/98647-is-there-any-point-to-dual-wielding-meleeranged-swordgun/ Thank you!
  3. Deadfire starts with a D. You know what else starts with a D? Dwarves. You know what's sorely missing in this thread? Dwarves. Coincidence? I think not.
  4. A lot of informative stuff there, I see. Cheers, draego.
  5. Good brother? I doubt it. Someone who want to poison his own father might sacrifice his own sister to gain power, even he will not someone else will because Vela has that power. I cannot remember the detail, but I remember I kidnap and keep the baby without hesitation, This. People tend to forget that the guy who wants to save the baby also wants to poison the other guy. If that doesn't raise any red flags, then I don't know what should.
  6. Big hands. Oh. Sorry, wrong thread.
  7. Because people have fetishized stealing this baby beyond the capacity of rational thought. Or they're just getting into this setting's penchant for slavery. One of those. The thing about Vela is that her parents have completely and willingly given her up to her new "father" (who, by sheer accident, also wants to kill her) for the benefit of their tribal rite. Adding to that, she essentialy becomes a tool in a power play between posturing tribesemen. The guy who wants to save her, if I remember correctly, doesn't really elaborate on what he himself intends to do with her. Given that Glanfathans don't have a stellar record when it comes to coherent motives or even basic mercy, I can see how keeping her could be taken by the Watcher (or whoever) as giving her the chance at a relatively normal life that she'd otherwise never get. Glanafathan lives are short, brutish, and violent, yes - but hers doesn't have to be. Nobody cares for her either way. Why shouldn't you? Of course, there's the small detail that you have to kill the one guy who seemingly wants to help her, but still.
  8. I'm 97% convinced that if a tactical nuclear strike were to hit England tomorrow, the only thing left standing would be Elizabeth II in a hat.
  9. creeeeeeeeeeepyyyyyyyyyyyy
  10. But... where's my Calculator Toasterhead Arithmetician portrait?!
  11. Probably either the Medusa with her tabletop chariot or the Kharibdyss.
  12. Well then, as one of the guilty parties here, I offer a reconciliatory screenie.
  13. During the game (not from the main menu), open your options menu, then open the Difficulty tab. Click on the "Show Personality/Reputation" checkbox and you're done.
  14. You people aren't even trying anymore.
  15. I feel like we should be pen pals or something.
  16. I'm... not particularly jazzed about it. It feels like it has all of the downsides of Ars Magica without the clean system math or the creative thaumaturgy (so... the things that actually make Ars Magica worth playing), with a 4E-esque grid combat bolted on top. Also, the character creation rules inexplicably don't seem to include teensy-tiny little details like how much xp we should distribute between attributes and abilities, without which it's kinda difficult to make a character. But hey, at least we have a skill list that runs for seven pages and includes absolute essentials such as Knitting, Forecasting and Midwifery! Excellent! I've always wanted to role-play the Grieving Mother! In all seriousness, though... as disheartening as this summary is (thanks, by the way), I guess I'm still willing to give it a shot. I like the setting and I haven never played Ars Magica, so I probably won't mind some of these rough edges.
  17. Well, regardless of any differences in opinion we might have, I think we're all in the same boat (hue) when it comes to the awesomeness that is... HEAVE-HO! AIM'SPIRENTE!
  18. There's probably a joke about her being a Cipher in there somewhere, but... eh.
  19. I'm looking forward to seeing CA's take on Alith's visual design. His tabletop model is like, what, fifteen years old at this point?
  20. Myself, I can perfectly understand that position. On one hand, I can agree on the point of FFVIII. For all the game's faults, Don't Be Afraid is a great battle theme. On the other hand, FFVII's battle theme makes me want to claw out my ear drums whenever I'm exposed to it for extended periods of time - and that's despite my heavy nostalgia goggles. To be fair, I'm not really an audio buff and I can't pinpoint the exact thing that wears me out in FFVII's theme. Perhaps it's just the inferior sound format/quality.
  21. Yay for Shadow Warriors! Vengeance for Nagarythe!
