  1. I actually dont like the weapon proficiencies that much. They should make these modals universal so you can apply what effect you want on any weapon you choose. Giving the player the choice again on what weapon combos they want instead of find the effect their class needs or wants and then saying well i guess i am using that weapon.
  2. Another reason i dont like the weapon proficiencies. I dont see why they cant boil all those modals down to generic modals or talents that you can apply to any weapon you want. It seems to rigid for a POE game.
  3. I would like to see the animal companion damage totaled up in the party records under the character sheet. It would be nice if it was separate but at the very least can it be added in with the Ranger sheet to help give more accurate numbers of what ranger is doing.
  4. If they stick with the current party inventory management they should just remove all individual inventory. My feeling is either do this or go back to POE1. As of now there is no need for individual inventory. I ok with either system but with just that one change if they stick with the current system.
  5. I am ok with the new inventory system but there is no point in any character having their own inventory anymore. So either do it like POE1 or remove individual inventory altogether and just leave the giant party stash. I found myself moving all inventory items to the party stash because its was a pain to look through each inventory to see what was there now. I dont have a strong feeling which system they go though.

Ye i actually tried to play strategic and not rest after every encounter and not spam all my spells and push to see how far i could go but ye i have seen the other side where people would complain 'i have to bactrack to inn after every fight to reload spells and its so tedious'. I never understood this and i like the first system but resting always an issue and there will always be players that rest after every fight.
  7. Ye i thought maybe they let you pick general talent instead of weapon proficiencies so: * strip modal from weapon proficiencies and add to general pool. So stuff like penetration and or bleed or lower fortitude can by applied to any weapon * add in some defensive and offensive talents like you mention above * and let the player pick general talents instead of weapon proficiencies at predefined levels. * This way single class magic classes dont lose spells and martial classes can augment there roles. Or allow martial to pick every level instead of class talent but let magic builds access to this list at predefined levels so they dont lose spells. Or * treat single classes as predefined buckets of talents and force all players to multiclass * since there is no single class picks anymore, allow all player multiclasses builds to get access to high level abilities from both classes
  8. Giver players an exit to desktop option instead just a quit that goes to the main menu. i mean you can have both.
  9. If this were true then POE2 did change things for the worse. There should be no multiclassing and the game should move to less classes or no classes with just open talents to let you develop the character you want. What they did is make classes more specialized and only allow you pick from two buckets and then gimp those by not letting you get to higher level talents because they claim they want to make the single classes still feel fun and viable. They also would not have forced the weapon proficiencies. They should have removed all modal abilities to one giant bucket of abilities and let players choose what weapons they want their character to role with whatever modal. I agree in some ways the game has allowed some more freedom but at the cost of other freedoms from POE1. I think all people are saying is why cant we have both sets of freedom from both POE1 and 2. I feel like in the current system they should force you to multclass and let you get access to the higher level abilities plus all the modal stuff i mentioned

  11. You can do that easily with Rogue, Monk, Cipher, Fighter, Barb, etc. The Ranger D&D class is just a fighter with a different skin. Drizzt is a fighter. Aragorn is just a fighter. They may be called Rangers in universe, and have the hunter background and high stealth & survival skills. Similarly, not every professional priest in the PoE universe is part of the Priest class. Asking for a PoE Ranger without a pet is like asking for a Cipher without psychic powers, because Cipher is a character in Warhammer 40k and he doesn't have psychic powers. I have tried, and succeeded at making an effective melee ranger in the Beta. The class is good, but it is not fun. It feels bad that wounding shot doesn't work in melee. The Stalker subclass is useful for a melee build, but doesn't feel very distinct from the base class. I find it weird that the subclass gives a bonus to defence to the Ranger, but the Ranger mostly has damage dealing abilities. Ye to me that is why i like POE rangers. I actually like the pet mechanic.

  13. If that were the case people are going to be disappointed because they still need to deal with a pet which has to be summoned or they face the penalty. oops. Didnt realize that hadnt played it yet. But i think people will be disappointed.
  14. To be fair i think the Ghost Heart was meant to be the 'pick no animal companion' abilities because there was a segment of players in POE1 that wanted to be ranger without animal. All other versions i think were meant to pick some level of animals abilities and is why ghost hear is my least favorite.
  15. Im a little confused by this example you can have each of these they are separate skill buckets. The lower skills are just for lore/roleplaying in dialogue and other such actions. You make is sound like they are competing like in POE1. Breckmoney beat me to it.
  16. The other issue is im not sure it would matter if you get more points then they would just rebalance the game with more points in mind. Also for skills there is party assist so if you dont specialize in something maybe your team can. I know the assist is not a 1 to 1 and i wouldnt want it to be but its something. There is always a balancing act with this though so maybe the beta will help that if some change is needed

  18. I agree this is what is intended for more melee focused but you have to give up high level abilities to do this. It seem like there should be a 3 types of builds here. 1. ranger only that specializing in ranged combat. 2. ranger only that is competent in melee but can reach high level ranger abilities (though at this point they are prob ranged also heh). to compensate for mult getting nice fighter stuff and for players to have lore choice of being a ranger. This is also important for power level of animal. I assume but havent tested that animal is tied to power level so multi mean weaker animal 3 ranger/? multiclass that access better melee abilities like the fighters. Not sure why number 2 is so bad for POE2. I mean this is the issue with other classes also like wizards and priest. You shouldnt need to give up high level stuff to add some defensive or offensive melee talents to spice up the builds and with rangers you could just allow abilities to work in both ranged and melee to fix some of it but there also need to be general talent pool to help all single classes Also if you do try melee ranger only class get the waraxe. Bleed triggers predator's sense. To bad that is not a general ability you could take and use on any weapon. I wouldnt mind them striping the modal off all weapons and starting a general ability pool with those and then add back other defensive abilities.

  20. I generally agree but the grazes were a little to powerful for some spells like paralyze but i dont think that justifies scraping it all. And there is grazing in this game apparently you just have to pick the right race. Boreal dwarf
