  1. What they said was: Will there be another WH40K CRPG? Dark Heresy, Black Crusade, Only War? If we would be making another CRPG in 40k universe, these all definitely sound like they'd have a great potential. We have a number of reveals planned for this year, where we will tell you guys what to expect next. Stay tuned! That was pretty much a conformation of Dark Heresy, since for other, similar questions (will you do shadowrun) they clearly said no. When you get asked will you do A,B,C and you always answer no, and for D you answer "there will be an announcement later this year" that is pretty much a yes.

  2. I have played and finished Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3. It is a heartfelt story about game development. It is also a Match-3 game. And a visual novel. And a horror game. The protagonist, J.J. Hardwell (the name and personality are hard-coded and not customisable), former Postal Inspection Service agent and the newest agent of the ATS, is on his first mission to investigate the mansion of a suspected super-scientist, Duncan Dockright III. Generally, the game is well-written and technically well-made, with the diverse dialogue options, victory conditions, and “battles” (not all matches are battles), the trait system based on the story branches completed, and the quality-of-life features, such as the fast-skip function and highlighting the previously-chosen options (which may have other branches behind them). There are a few issues, most notably, the UI for the Match-3 sections seems to be controller-focused and rather uncomfortable, which is odd, considering how smooth and responsive it was in the demo. The skip function does not work for some animations and, as mentioned, the highlight does not take the post-option branching into account. The few keys that are used are not possible to rebind. While it is possible to replay from any unlocked checkpoint (usually every 1-2 matches), the game uses auto-saving into a single slot, so Windows Explorer is the only option for save file management. It is not unusual, but nonetheless disappointing. The graphics, music, and animations are expressive and fitting and the game is VA-free. --- I have also finished Homebody. It is an excellent puzzle horror game in the modern setting with a time loop - each time the protagonist dies, the evening restarts from entering the house, which the group of friends rented for their trip. It is also a remarkably accurate representation of social anxiety. The house is a closed system with a specific schedule and everything needed already being there. The puzzles are logical and reasonably straight-forward and there is an optional hint system starting from “Have you noticed A?” to “To do A, do B first”. The dialogues are well-written with several options and can provide hints for the puzzles as well along with more background story, such as the relationship between the group members and their lives prior to arriving at the house. The relationship progress persists between the loops and most of the puzzles are not random (I think, there is only one exception). The graphics are expressive and easy to read and use the PS1-style aesthetics. The music and sound design are fitting and build the atmosphere and suspense. The game is VA-free, allowing a smaller size and requiring less processing power. The controls are comfortable and rebindable, offering both keyboard and mouse controls. The game uses auto-saving into a single slot, with 3 slots total, meaning that one has to utilise their file management system should they want to have hard manual saves. Considering that the cut-scenes are not repeatable, while the difficulty increases as the game progresses, the lack of manual saving is unpleasant. Additionally, upon continuing the game, the player always starts from a new loop, with the position in the previous loop lost. While the loops are short and the memories are saved, it is still undesirable. I am also unsure whether interpersonal interactions should be considered universally better than seclusion. Each person is different and what works for the extroverted neurotypicals can be extremely uncomfortable for a neurodivergent person (see the gamers during the 2020 lockdown meme). The social systems were built by and for extroverts and must change to accommodate everyone, not only them. Overall, it is an excellent horror game with the above-mentioned technical flaws.

  3. I think the funniest thing about Trump is that he has done more to harm his followers than anyone else and they still worship him like a golden calf.

  6. I think they only said they have multiple games in development. That may indicate they have something other than WH40K in the works. Time will tell.

  7. The US just found an enormous deposit of lithium on the Nevada-Oregon border. (US$1.5 trillion worth.) Another giant deposit was found in Arkansas. Not to mention large amounts of lithium found in fracking deposits. That may change the resource situation a bit.

  8. Lol, I know Grieving Mother is veiling who she is, but after dozens of fights where she is blasting the crap out of enemies with her abilities, I figured the party would realise she is a cipher rather than some strange lady just following us around. And then Eder made me realise that its literally only me that can see her, when he says when we ask Grieving Mother to help with his quest: "Look I appreciate the initiative, but I don't think there is much chance that this nice stranger lady happens to be a cipher." Did he not wonder at the psychic howls and occasional disintegrations of enemies.

  9. There is also, well, just getting old and having a lot of stress rather than dementia. Stress especially can make literally anyone seem like they have dementia. If term limits got repealed and the Democrats trotted out the sprightly William Jefferson Clinton as a candidate in 2028 (and let's be honest, they probably would, if they could and he were willing) there would be some changes evident from 1992 and they wouldn't necessarily be from dementia. And for all the jokes about golfing Trump runs far more public appearances than Biden did and has far more opportunities to manifest dementia like symptoms. Mostly though, Trump doesn't strike me as someone with dementia, just as an 80 year old who has not had that much interaction with the actual real world and how it works doing a stressful job- a job which is hard on 50 year olds. Barack Obama entered the White House looking like Mandela going to Robben Island and left it looking like Mandela leaving it, 18 rather than 8 years later. And Mandela was at an apartheid era prison, for political prisoners. OTOH, Biden very much did give me dementia vibes towards the end. At least some of the Trump stuff is semi deliberate affectation as well. As much as his detractors hate his speech style and all the rambling and digressions a lot of people absolutely love it.

  11. Thanks Chaosspread for the list of vendors. Managed to get a healthy supply for now. With regard to Monk, I agree with both you and Boeroer. I've been using Zahua, spec'd as tank, and at least at this stage in Pillars, he feels like a better tank than Eder with more disables per encounter. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that there hasn't been much story/dialogue engagement from him. That said, I haven't yet finished WM so maybe there will be more before I finish.

  12. Following giving up on DA:I, I decided I needed to return to a good, old, classic cRPG. So I've started a replay of Pillars of Eternity 1. After playing PoE2, I thought I wouldn't ever want to go back to PoE1. But after one day, things are looking great. Playing a talky wood elf paladin.

  13. No mods. And I did complete the game back in 2016. But now, replaying it, it's just too damn tedious. Maybe I just don't have as much patience anymore.

  14. So I just fixed the french translation mistake from Kapana Taga enchantment with Kvellen help. There were some others I also fixed previously, maybe two others, and it would deserve a separate mod, but for now I will be including it in the Community Patch, it seems more fitting there.

  15. Yeah, my ability to mentally visualize things is almost none, and it even applies to dreams. Anything I try to mentally visualize, be it a place or a face that I should know very well, all I really get is a very vague outline that's muddy, dark, and nearly unseen, as if what I'm trying to picture is hidden behind a thick black veil. I can't actually make the details appear, it's more just summoning up fleeting impressions with my meanings and feelings towards them attached. I've never been able to visualize characters or places in a book. Exactly one time in my life, a few years ago now, I had an extremely vivid lucid dream that was unlike anything I'd ever dreamt or imagined before. Though I was consciously aware it was a dream, it somehow seemed more real and powerful in terms of sensations than even real life, even though it was a completely boring dream where nothing of note happened at all. This gave me insight into what normal people's mental imagery and dreams must look more like, and boy, I sure am envious. Such a phenomenon has unfortunately not occurred to me since that instance.
