  1. I'm honestly shocked that the dems have done something smart. Gotta say I was expecting they would have gone with Shapiro, whose support for vouchers alone could probably tank all of the enthusiasm generated by benching Joe. I say this completely unironically, as a state chanpion high school football coach and a veteran with a dui Walz may actually make Texas competitive. Also as a rural non-ivy league blue collar guy he makes a good contrast to the furniture fornicating Thiel goblin JD Vance.

  2. Tim Walz, Minnesota's and my governor, is reportedly Harris' pick for Vice President. Very pleased (and surprised!) that he was the choice.

  3. Conan Exiles does not require online access. They set it up so you can play it single-player/LAN.

  4. Practically yeah, it was an inevitability whether gaming had the same or not. (I guess the point is that- theoretically- if it all stemmed from gaming/ general software then getting protections for them could (should, in an ideal world) be applied to everything software including service licensing for generic 'hardware' in a sort of pro consumer grandfather clause. It will be hard enough to get them applied to gaming though despite the fractured nature of the stakeholders. You'd be about as likely to get them applied to, say, BMW and Mercedes as to get wolves their protected status back with Ursula in charge of the EU. Though I would mention as I usually do in these discussions that some places do already have guarantees for being fit for use and durable in place for software anyway without the sky falling)

  5. A little bit more into the Shrine of Amana again. I am spending now a little bit less time, as I would like to, but having a shoulder injury makes it very painful, whenever I sit and play behind my PS for more than 1 and half hour. Anyway, Looking Glass Knight has been defeated. Not much trouble, as I have called two summons just for the laugh I did not wanted to spent to much time with the fight, knowing, what awaits me next… Shrine of Amana… As I have mentioned before, to my surprise, the areas up to the second bonfire have been “blessed” by much better mob placing, than in Vanilla, so it was not as painful, as I have expected. Of course, I’ve made few stupid moves, so my Deathcounter has increased again, but it was much, much better experience this time around. The issue for me was the third part, before Demon of Song, I have destroyed my equipment few times in the mist from the giant “Sponge Bob”, and then I have spent few times clearing the area, out of the cave, as I forgot, that there is a red phantom invader, and I wanted my Awestone a lot, so I had to change the covenant just for this fight. Of course, I have died in this area as well, so I had to repeat it again and slowly with a crossbow. I have not found a 100% safe way to clear the mobs with melee, like the previous area, so it took a lot of time to get to Demon of Song. I went back to call phantom for the fight, and went through the fog. Took me three tries, as a felt to tired from my pain, but I wanted to get the giant toad at all costs. Of course two more tries meant two more clearings of the pond mobs, so it took me a lot of time to start a new fight. But my goal was fulfilled. With deathcounter stopping at 109 wipes.

  6. Damn, visually looks really good and still true to the original. I'm just really damn scared about all those other changes they are making...

  7. Yeah, Ross' campaign (Accursed Farms) didn't really need to be gaming-specific here, the right to be able to use the things that you've bought seems like it should be pretty obvious and inalienable.

  9. Speaking of which: Avowed has been delayed to February. Now, aside of Avowed, I had to chuckle about the PR reasoning though: It's all done to give players some quality time with their backlogs! So many games coming, after all. Lemme see: Thief. Grim Fandango. Baldur's Gate. Starcraft: Brood War. Myth II. Half-Life. Ocarina Of Time. Final Fantasy VII (PC port). Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus. Unreal. Metal Gear Solid. Tomb Raider 3. Fallout 2. All released with a mere weeks between them. But then neither of those took a lifetime and a team the size of Candlekeep HQ to get off the ground running. One can only drool about how many games there's gonna be in another 25 years. Sometimes you've got to admire Nvidia marketing wizardry though. Able to ship 2,000 bucks GPUs to people who evidently have fewer need for them than any generation of PC master racers before. Selling ice to eskimos has been replaced as the benchmark truly. tldr; thanks to the Woodsie Lord, Shodan and Thy Builder indeed that blockbuster gaming isn't the only noteworthy thing around.

  12. I rented out the first house I ever owned for three years before the tenet ask me if they could buy it, which they did. Ive heard lots of horror stories but I had a great experience being a landlord. Of course I hired a realtor to handle it for 10% of the rent. Ive always had a dream of owning a 3-flat, renting out two of them and living in the third, all free due the income of the two rentals.

  13. Yes and thats the strange thing about the insurgency and wars in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso and the temporary global "attention " it received Most people dont know anything about these countries or the conflicts and they considered some of the most poorest and underdeveloped countries in Africa. But suddenly French flags get burnt and the French military leave and Russian and anti-Western SM propaganda creates interest for a week or 2 and then people move on Yet the insurgencies have been going on since 2012 and only with the French leaving did it create any temporary interest or activism. Its an example of the misplaced and fleeting interest that SM creates and encourages https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamist_insurgency_in_the_Sahel

  16. At least for Boone and Liam, it was money, the former wanted too much and the other got cut because of tax reasons (Canadian actors vs US ones). Sandoval's actor endured though, even though the weirdness of the 5th season. If I recall a lot of studio meddling also damaged the show, a lot more crappy action in season 2 and 3 than 1.
