Well, I would not say it was much different from other Beth games. Same engine, same bugs, just in space They should have put it into Starship Troopers universe, at least the bugs would fit into the lore3 points

So I'm testing a bit about afflictions and found that Boots of Stability gives +45 defense against the Knockdown ability. It seems the +15 push defense is also added against knockdown, make it very potent item when fighting monks.2 points

Fallout 4, Far Harbor. Reached the point of the main conflict's resolution or close to it. Not particularly fond of the combat, controls, dialogue system (keyboards have somewhat more keys than gamepads and I can see what the game was focused on, even with the mod), and the UI. There was one unique puzzle (pointing a beam at certain points) mission based on the building system, where I also could not save in the process (about 1-2 hours, considering that it highlighted the issues with the controls and that the PC is a flying camera in the first-person view). On a funny note, I sneaked/ran to the console, while leaving 2 legendary dominatrix murder bots behind (after trying to kill them unsuccessfully a couple of times). The only way to survive it for me was to lower the difficulty and eat all damage-resistance consumables I had. Several hours later I noticed that I had some armour that was not focused on stealth and carrying capacity, so it is possible that I could have fought them. The story is fine. Not great, but good enough to keep going. No strong feelings about the loading times, the game runs fine from an HDD.2 points

Minor update, This is just to upload @SenSx updated translation and Forbidden Fist scaling nerf suggested by @yorname that I have agreed before. These were not super priority changes, but I have to do the queued updates once in a while. Shamefully, I actually only finished New Vegas today. My two main playthroughs is this one, where I left a bunch of stuff not done nor explored, and went with the wild card ending. The other one, over 10 years ago, I did about everything except for some straggling quests and, critically, the actual ending. It would have been an NCR ending. Next I'm considering Tyranny which I've restarted a dozen times but never finished, Storm of Zehir which I also never finished, an evil MotB run, or a new NV playthrough with only Arcade Gannon and a robot as companions. Or something non Obsidian. My backlog is humongous.2 points

Cool find. It should stack with Effigy's Resentment: Kana. That's +5 against Prone (and Hobbled). And with Coastal Aumaua's +20 against Stunned and Prone. That would mean +70... Bane of Ogres!1 point

Well, Israel is engaging in war crimes in its war with Hamas according to basically everyone without a vested interest. It is already illegal to invest in Russia for the same reason. Israel gets a pass because the security cooperation and financial ties between it and the US as well as the unfathomable amount of influence it holds in internal US politics. European leaders back Biden's play because of the hundreds of billions of dollars of aid for Ukraine, and because if they don't, they will be dealing with Trump for the next four years. These relations are all transactional, none of them are ethical. If the international criminal court means anything, it will have to issue arrest warrants on both Hamas and senior Israeli leaders, given the facts. With all this, it is entirely appropriate and moral to attempt to undermine the US-Israeli relationship, or at least to say that they don't want their university to have a stake in the continuation of violations against human rights.1 point

Heh, is there any better illustration of the absolute mess that is Gamebryo than F4's loading times? The loading times are linked to frame rate, and the frame is limited to 60 because otherwise minigames, physics etc get screwy because they're linked to frame rate too... (If needed in future there is/ was a mod that 'fixes'/ helps with the issue by uncapping fps only during loading screens, whether it works still after the next gen update who knows)1 point

I gave up on Fallout 3 super quick, so I decided to load up Fallout 4 and give it a try. I hadn't played it in like 6 years, I guess. It does look way better than FO3. There is color, and the HD texture pack is new to me, I think. So it's more fun to just walk around the wasteland. I never really go into the building a base stuff when I played it back in the day, so I think I'll just hang out in Sanctuary for awhile and see if I can make it look decent. I put up functioning lamp posts, and it does add a nice vibe to the place.1 point

Sure thing! Original is Faramir by Magali Villeneuve Gave it a shot. Source seems to be by Roke2810 from one of the old portrait threads on this forum, can't find any watercolors in the thread: and the coastal version from that post too:1 point

Biden's approval of his handling of the Gaza conflict among the 18-25 demographic is at 22% or thereabouts, which is completely terrible. They won't forget being dismissed as antisemitic on little to no evidence, or that that they were dubbed "outside agitators" when this was not true. They are absolutely going to hold a grudge against the Democratic party that Trump can exploit. Trump is no different on Israel, he is even plausibly worse, but Trump is an enemy, he's not a friend who stabbed you in the back, that's always worse. He tried to walk the tightrope by steadily walking up his critique of Israel, but it was so obviously dishonest that he managed to lose ground with both the pro Israelis and the pro Palestineans. You can't be all things to all people. Also, way to piss away the clout he got from pushing student debt relief. That should have been a huge winner for him with anyone in a similar situation.0 points

@Guard Dog checked in a longer while back and talked about some serious health issues. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'd really want it just him being happy and busy and all that jazz, but... you know. Never been an optimist.0 points

You're welcome. To be fair to this pile of garbage, which is really hard, that sort of creepy goes back to the olden days of pre-modern anime. This crap is a rather direct, unchanged adaptation from the source material. Actually, Sailor Moon Cosmos is so close to the source material that the best fan sub that is currently available was - supposedly - not made with the film, but rather with the one of the manga editions, and then just timed (and later retimed) with the film. If nothing else that makes the film a wonderful case study for what happens when you do not adapt source material, but transfer it 1:1 to the screen. It is a right mess. It was the music of the intro that caused the reaction more than anything that happened in the film up to that point. Why does this horrible version of Moonlight Densetsu even exist? There are two far superior versions of the old anime to chose from. No, no. This is what they used in the anime to flesh out the villains, actually. In this film and the manga, which is only explained later, and it was my mistake to assume that the original anime took that story bit from the manga (in hindsight, yes, that was pretty dumb, huh?), the Sailor Animamates (i.e. Iron Mouse, Aluminum Siren, Lead Crow, Tin Nyanko and Heavy Metal Papillon) aren't actually mind controlled Sailor Senshi. They're just mercenaries and traitors who joined Galaxia for the promise of power and have been granted the powers of actual Senshi through the bracelets they wear. Phi, Chi, Lethe and Mnemosyne are real Sailor Senshi who joined Galaxia. Just not through mind control or force, but because they wanted to. I hate Ami x Makoto more than Rei x Minako for the simple fact that it seems to be a fandumb favorite, constructed out of two freaking scenes of the original anime. One where Ami helps Makoto with studying for their high school exams and Makoto's rape episode from SuperS where Ami dances with her. You know, the episode where she waits ages for Tigereye (a man) to come back. That is the basis for this pairing, by far and large. Watch out, femoids of the world, the incels of the world will turn you into lesbians if you ever dance with a fellow femoid. That is not to say that I don't despise Rei x Minako for the terrible framing in the manga, and thus, the film, I just loathe it less than Ami x Makoto. These scenes with Minako in Crystal/the manga are pretty bad - the girls all have massively reduced character development due to the breakneck pacing of the chapters, and Minako being utterly boy-happy is one of the few things that make up her somewhat quirkier personality (as opposed to her earlier, much more serious version). Hinting at her hitting it off with Rei diminishes what little character development she gets in this. Arguably even worse with Makoto whose only wish is to be accepted as a normal girl in a world that shuns her for non-conformity (taller than normal girls, stronger than normal girls, wavy instead of straight hair). Fantasy-shipping her off with Ami is just a giant middle finger to everything she represents and has to go through. F*ck you, fandumb. Huh, look at me getting angry, I guess I am not completely dead inside from all of this yet. Go me! I don't think they are in there enough to matter. Just like everything else, they're an afterthought thrown in to fill chapters, even though they're more fleshed out than most of the villains. Ah, the framing of the post-credit scene was a little unfair on my part, but I needed to strike back at the film. This just looks like what it looks like and isn't really what it looks like. It is just Mamoru kissing Usagi in bed after waking up, but the implication still lingers. I mean, Usagi can't get pregnant without the intercourse part, but to be honest, the stylized sex scene from season two was a lot worse. I mean, scenes like that in the first three seasons is what makes this film the best out of the bunch. The worst thing that happens with the regular cast is that creepy Hotaru stuff and Seiya kissing Usagi without consent. It says a lot of the series and films - and the manga - that this is counting as the least terrible entry, huh?0 points
