  1. There are some items that summon creatures that are beast or wilder - and when those die they won't disappear but you can consume their bodies as a Corpse Eater. For example the wurms from Dire Talon (chance to summon wurms on crit). That way you can bring your own food to any Flesh Communion.

  5. Kind of classic that. Very little coverage of it, and some pretty choice quotes too. "It is tragic to see the hate and incitement toward Israel expressed in such a horrific way". Indeed; my heart bleeds the River Jordan for you, poor Israeli consul. Perhaps the most moral army in the world could stop broiling people with White Phosphorus some time if you hate people getting burnt so much? No? Didn't think so. Also, praise the lord, the police chief confirmed the consulate was safe.. ...now try imagining Reuters' coverage of Bouazizi including a statement that "It is tragic to see the hate and incitement towards Ben Ali expressed in such a horrific way" from the local governor and the police chief confirming the statue he did it under was thankfully undamaged. Not quite sure what the equivalent of shoehorning in a mention of October 7th is though.

  6. And you can't eat them with your corpse eater either. There was something so dumb about a Corpse Eater / Ranger eating their own pet that I had to try.

  7. One thing I will say in the favor of the live action Avatar is that at least it doesn't appear to be ashamed of what it's based on/adapted from unlike the bulk of superhero stuff. E for Enthusiasm I suppose. The problems I have with it can boil down to that it tried to translate rather than adapt. I don't think it's shot for shot but it certainly feels more like they copied the animation scripts and edited them to fit live action rather than started with live action in mind. The result is having scenes that feel like I'm watching a cosplay reenactment of the animation which imo isn't fair to the cast.

  8. This guy stupid or something? No wonder all his movies are hot garbage. . . . Theoretically, there's nothing wrong with what he's saying. Obviously, what we value is very different, since I almost entirely remember movies by characters and what they do (and yes, especially dialogue!), but I'm not everyone, and clearly some people do like his films. This kind of thinking will probably, 999/1000 times, mean you're not going to have characters that I think are interesting or fun or pretty much anything else, which almost certainly means that at best, I'm going to be pretty neutral towards your film. So yeah, I guess it starts to make a lot of sense why I hate Denis Villaneuve films. That French Canadian bastard. It was nice they gave Ethan Hawke the last word with the obvious rebuttal to that nonsense to end the article.

  9. The biggest hurdle with the original cartoon, I think, is that the first few episodes are pretty rough around the edges. Some pretty basic writing that seems aimed at helping introduce children to the characters and setting, and some real cut-rate animation that's pilot-esque. The show as a whole has also unfortunately suffered the fate that most early 2000s animated shows have in being made only for standard definition - if you're an adult just trying the show for the very first time, I can definitely understand not immediately seeing the appeal. But this...woof, whoa, I guess I'm gonna go back to watching my dadgummed cartoons.

  10. I put it on in the background while I was cooking and couldn't help but feel that it's simply a lesser version than the cartoon. So why would I watch the bootleg when the real thing is right there?

  12. The PL bonus comes from Nature Godlike's racial bonus, which triggers while a Body Inspiration is active. Dumping PER could be interesting; my previous Watchers have always had maxed PER, so doing the complete opposite would be entirely new to me. (I should've mentioned that I plan to play on Turn-Based Mode, thus the switching trick you mentioned will likely be of little use.)

  13. It depends if you want to remain stealthed or not. If you remain stealthed all the time then INT, DEX, MIG (for the healing) maxed and the rest in CON. If you want to be active from the back then increase PER instead of CON. Bardatto, Evasive Roll or your invocations (you can use non-offensive abilities without breaking stealth). With items you can already have 27INT. Couldron Brew, resting bonuses and INT inspiration from Set To Their Purpose... will help you reach 35. PS. With this build you can also use the Sasha/Thundercrack switching trick

  16. Very cool and funny implementation! I love the image of repeatedly pointing your Thundercrack Pistol at enemies who are too scared to do anything except freeze and raise their hands in the air every time you swap to it. I know you say you can turn off the AI script at a certain point once you've locked down enemies long enough with the Thundercrack Pistol's debuff, but I was wondering what would be the best build for this strategy if you wanted to keep the AI script on and just have a character who only stands around and continuously swap weapons like we joked about in the other thread? Obviously it would need to be at least a Chanter to get the benefit of SSS's recovery reduction. One idea is to go with the Skald subclass, only because selecting the highest costing non-offensive invocation available will increase your maximum Phrase capacity +1, which does help the scaling of SSS's recovery reduction. It's a small bonus and maybe not necessary, I admit. I think the better idea is is to go with the Troubadour subclass and stack Intellect as high as possible so you can have the effects of multiple chants going at once or you can turn on Brisk Recitation and get faster hits with the offensive chants or more skeletons with Many Lives. I think a tank role makes the most sense in that case to get more value out of a character that can't actively attack. A couple of quirks does make tanking complicated in this scenario if you're constantly swapping weapons, unfortunately. First, when you switch weapon sets, engagement briefly deactivates and it takes a second after switching before engagement reacquires targets. If you're switching weapon sets constantly, it might not give your engagement slots enough time to latch onto enemies. Secondly, you can only activate self-buffs when you're not in recovery, so you'll have to depend on passive bonuses since you'll be stuck in recovery from constant weapon swapping. So I guess you can have Whispers of the Endless Paths in the other weapon slot to swap over and hopefully trigger counterattacks and combine that with Rogue and Riposte for more passive attack opportunities, or maybe Paladin for the passive deflection bonus. I think multiclassing with a Black Jacket might still be a good idea here because they can still activate their self-buffs like Refreshing Defense and Unbending Trunk thanks to their subclass bonus and Quick Switch allowing them to bypass swap recovery. Of course, if you didn't care about the spirit of a purely passive build and allowed buffing in between or before turning the AI script for weapon swapping, you have a lot more possibilities such as Trickster Rogue abilities like Mirrored Image to buff WotEP and Ryngrim's Repulsive Visage for a fear aura when standing around enemies.

  17. Another form of riposte or buffing/debuffing-damaging aura, that is the idea yes. If there is a paladin in the party, the flame shield he can provide as Darcozzy, or with a SC priest with Spark of the Souls etc the chanter can be good in melee without any movement. Also, MC with a monk (the int bonus is always good for chanter and aura in generaly) with Blade Turning (prolonged by a priest) and Soul Mirror with some retaliation items (Violet Redemption, Champion's Helm etc) could be nice, these ripostes can also proc Swift Flurry and Heartbeam Drumming.

  18. "many lives" is a chant that automatically plays, bypassing normal action economy and recovery. so you'll be creating skeletons even if you're busy weapon switching (albeit weak skeletons).

  20. Tax records reveal the lucrative world of covid misinformation Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine group founded by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., received $23.5 million in contributions, grants and other revenue in 2022 alone — eight times what it collected the year before the pandemic began — allowing it to expand its state-based lobbying operations to cover half the country. Another influential anti-vaccine group, Informed Consent Action Network, nearly quadrupled its revenue during that time to about $13.4 million in 2022, giving it the resources to finance lawsuits seeking to roll back vaccine requirements as Americans’ faith in vaccines drops. edit(for paywall material we keep the copy/paste minimal, but the following provides necessary context): As the groups’ coffers grew, so did the salaries of some top executives. Children’s Health Defense paid Kennedy, then chairman and chief legal counsel and now an independent candidate for president, more than $510,000 in 2022, double his 2019 salary, tax records show. Informed Consent Action Network paid Executive Director Del Bigtree $284,000 in 2022, a 22 percent increase from 2019. Bigtree now works as communications director for Kennedy’s presidential campaign. Some of the individuals behind the family foundations or trusts that fund the four groups also contributed the legal maximum in personal donations to Kennedy’s presidential bid, according to OpenSecrets, which tracks political donations. not unrelated Six cases of measles confirmed in outbreak at a Florida elementary school Florida surgeon general doesn't urge vaccinations amid measles outbreak for those unaware, measles ain't a childhood disease deserving a shrug and a reflexive qq response. measles is one o' the most readily communicable disease and there is a relative high rate o' hospitalization which accompanies infections. conspiracy theories have real human costs and people getting rich off o' the human cost makes it all the more contemptable. 21. The Girl From Monday (2005) If there ever was a KP movie, this would be it. A satirical sci-fi where the world filmed on a shoestring budget and early digital that makes it a headache inducing fever dream with such memorable lines such as "let's **** and increase our buying power". Speaking of movies, I read this and thought I'd share it with @Bartimaeus so we could both hate on it.

  22. Avatar: The Last Airbender (Netflix), episode 1. Unlike Hazbin Hotel, I wasn't excited for this one, because I knew it was going to be awful...but I have to admit, I vastly underestimated just how awful it would be. I sat through this with my nieces (who love the original cartoon, we've watched all of it multiple times together over the last few years) and conspired to stay very neutral during this so that I would not ruin it for them in the event that they liked it. I was very mindful, for their sake...honestly, I really was, and so it warmed the deepest, darkest corners of my twisted heart that I was not alone in hating it. I'm proud of them, they're good kids.
