Thanks, mate. From what I've gathered so far, there ain't going to be a war. A lot of people in Iran benefited from Soleimani's death since he refused to sign a deal regarding money laundering. Some high ranking members weep in front of the camera but they are celebrating behind the scenes. Trust me folks, it's all a business deal gone wrong. Maybe his death was just a way for Iran to start renegotiating deals with the west since he didn't allow a lot of things to happen. I hope all goes well.3 points

The US military really does not have a lot of trouble meeting it's recruiting goals. They offer some really nice incentives. But it is NOT for everyone. In fact at times it can be a real bitch. And it can be dangerous. If people decide the cons outweigh the pros who can blame them if they do something else. But this draft business if blatant political fear mongering aimed at those people. It is no different that Trump and his ilk stirring up fear of immigrants. I hate if for two reasons. First off it is literally slavery. Just because it's not forever does not make it not slavery. Second it is the equivalent of sabotaging the military. Life in the service is not easy. You have to want to be there. A demoralized force is not one that will perform well.2 points

Thought the Vikings were going to lose handily, wanted the Vikings to win, I am pleasantly surprised. Packers may no longer be the worst 13-3 team, especially seeing as we beat the Vikings twice. Also think we have a much better chance of beating the Eagles/Seahawks than the Saints...but also, I don't think the Vikings have much of a chance against the 49ers, who we match up horribly against, so that's not great.1 point

Probably because the starting island has a rather absurd difficulty cliff that makes it hard to recommend to people who aren't already into the genre (YMMV). Also, I don't know if there's much demand from NotD&D:PiratesoftheCaribbean.1 point

I'm planing to do a whole new desktop this year targeting 4K, mainly for Cyberpunk 2077. The thing is, I have my heart set on a Ryzen 4xxx and that won't be out by April. Rather than cave and buy a Ryzen 3xxx, I'll likely just hold off on Cyberpunk until whenever the new Ryzens come out... likely October-ish. By then, hopefully, Navi21 and RTX3xxx cards will be out too. I'd love to do a full Team Red build, but I'll evaluate that once the nexy gen of GPUs are out.1 point

Gotta love how my fellow Iranians outside of the country celebrate Soleimani's death, not realizing what would happen to their fellow Iranians back at home if a war ever started. Some of them are even begging for a war. Guess they didn't learn anything from the 1979 revolution or the civil war in Syria or the war on terror in Iraq since 2003 or the fact that Afghanistan has been at war(on and off) for the past 70 years... Maybe we deserve this.1 point

I don't understand a word of Japanese, but I'm a half-hour into this and enjoying it immensely. Anyhow, I noticed The Comet is Coming in your Best-of-2019 list, and I concur that they're pretty great.1 point

This - simply this. Everyone else is overthinking it.1 point

Striking cultural sites- as Trump explicitly just threatened to do- is literally literally a war crime, though for some reason the impartial beeb fails to mention that. And, of course, IranAir 655 had rather more than 52 kidnapped people and they all died while the US awarded Will Rogers III and Scot Lustig medals, so maybe Iran should strike 270 US cultural sites. But one suspects that would be terrorism. US messaging is all over the place. They seem shocked that they haven't had universal support despite spending most of the past three years burning goodwill, not even bothering to inform allies (presumably because they knew the first thing would be them warning Iran because assassinating Soleimani was just that stupid) and this being a conflict that stems directly from the unilateral withdrawal from the JCPOA which everyone except for Bibi and friends including the US itself agreed Iran was upholding; it's to stop a war happening but every preparation shows that it was to provoke a war and every bit of rhetoric is about how they're going to escalate further. And that's when they aren't going complete alternative facts like Pence claiming Soleimani was involved in 9/11. The big irony is that Trump won't get impeached, for this, just for having some weapons that Ukraine wasn't going to use turn up a couple of months later than scheduled.1 point

I like the new GOG launcher, as I have it linked to all the other launchers, so I have my library in one place and can launch everything from there (true, it then launches the other launchers, but I don't have to do it manually).1 point

Hubby started getting mild constant tinnitus this past year. Can't be sure how severe it is for him but he says most of the time he can ignore it even tho it's always there, only occasionally getting loud enough to be a big issue. I told him to stop using headphones - which means I now get to listen all his "how to" YT videos at loud volumes because he's also become harder of hearing in general. For him that (maybe?) could've sped up or caused it to begin with if he was using headphones at higher and higher volumes, without thinking, to compensate... I've also told him to use something over his ears when using power tools and the like but I don't think he does, still.1 point

My main concern is whether this will be a game worthy of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. name. What storefront(s) it appears on is a VERY distant second.1 point

I think the story is good, not as good as the baldurs gate saga, but its good enough. For me I just love being in the world of deadfire and the story is just an excuse for that. I like the characters a lot to be honest. All of it on par with bg2 for me. Probably prefer bg2 characters just a little, but idk something about deadfire is just so great. So much to do, so much content, so man things I wanna buy. I play on potd and gorecci street was certainly tough but I’ve ran into a lot of other really tough fights I’ve had to return to. Anyway this game is amazing!1 point

3776 - Saijiki Quite a lovely progressive/experimental pop album using the titular "saijiki" (per Wikipedia: list of kigo (seasonal terms) used in haiku and related forms of poetry) as a concept and as a springboard with which to fill the album with wordplays, puns, and a cadence across its 73-minute runtime that resembles the year cycle and so on. It's a near-equivalent of Boredoms and tommyfebruary6 collaborating on a J-pop Vision Creation Newsun. Just utterly delightful and creative.1 point

Once in a while I turn on something besides FFXV. Once in a while. --------------- I'm not sure yet if I find this cute or scary. The contrast between more realistic/detailed animals and the "cartoonish"/low-detail humans is a bit disconcerting. Odd decision. Gameplay seems decent tho.1 point

Angles 9 - Disappeared Behind the Sun Nice throwback to the heyday of Charlie Haden, Carla Bley and the rest of the Liberation Music Orchestra. The title track is straight fire (no pun intended).1 point
