again, irrelevant. whether or not you believe the source o' news is biased or hostile is complete immaterial insofar as the President's behavior and whether or not a news source accurate and factual reported Presidential and executive branch actions. keep coming back to media bias is red herring fodder in the present context although is complete according to our earlier and more recent predictions. this is what trump and trump supporters invariably do when confronted with trump lies and the President's indefensible double-down on such lies. and if all you got from first paper is channel placement, am suspecting you didn't read beyond the abstract and conclusion. channel placement were what were new in the study and so there is a particular focus 'pon such. also, the channel placement findings were somewhat surprising given just how much such affected viewership. regardless, is a study specific o' changes to voter patterns during decade when fox news became something other than regional. fox started in 1996, but weren't available in major markets such as ny and los angeles for a number o' years. "We compare a base case where Fox was available to cable subscribers in the 1997-2000 period according to the observed rollout pattern to a scenario where Fox was available exclusively to satellite subscribers and not on any local cable system." channel placement were one aspect o' study, though admitted the only original aspect o' the work. but again, am not gonna fall for obvious and transparent deflection. you wanna discuss media bias? knock yourself out. is indeed relevant to 2019 US politics, but is utter immaterial insofar as the President's dorian tweets and sharpie nonsense. President's behaviour is indefensible, so deflect, deflect, deflect. HA! Good Fun! ps am also not gonna get into personal qualifications and expertise. via a pm, back in 2000, we mentioned our occupation and university background to a fellow poster who promptly shared such info with seeming anybody who would listen. regardless, much o' our resume is a known quantity and multi-year absences from the boards has not resulted in any kinda functional reset. single pm were one o' our few board regrets, so am not gonna get into a battle o' duelling degrees and resume comparisons. gauche.2 points

Hello there, I recently built a pretty nice shepherd, really REALLY effective at melee, but it got boring really quick, it was very micro non intensive (means mostly auto-attacks with the occasional FoD to heal allies around). PoTD Scalled up. I was thinking about a melee seer, I really dig the ghost heart theme, with dead AC that you can still summon when in the thick of things. Like your old buddy jumps into the fray through the beyond because you are in trouble. Also my character in PoE1 was a melee ranger, so I absolutely want a ranger class on him in this game. I was wondering if a ghost heart / soulblade could work for a melee character. Is there any good synergy here ? Compared to Stalker / Soulblade, who has a clear advantage of beeing sturdier when close to the AC. I know at low level it will not be really good at anything, considering how it's stretched thin with ability points, but I'm more asking about mid-high level ? like 10~ish ? I don't want to invest too much time in a character and realise it's trash after 10h of game.1 point

still irrelevant as a response to posts 'bout trump's dorian behavior. keep repeating won't make more valid. am honest baffled by the almost obligatory media bias response to trump mendacity. is as if trump supporters literal cannot help but focus on media bias when issue is Presidential behaviors accurate reported by press, and thus complete insular and discreet from questions o' press balance. tell us trump's russian collusion were a hoax. tell us how man-made climate change is fantasy. both such observations will have relevance in a thread 'bout politics in 2019. neither is meaningful as a response to posts 'bout trump's dorian behavior. as for spontaneous sharing qualifications we cannot guess motivations. we observed we would not do likewise. we explained a bit o' the why behind why we won't. if such makes you think o' pens, then so be it. HA! Good Fun!1 point

Effigy's Husk: you can play a Barbarian and pick Vengeful Defeat (Full Attack in an AoE on KO) as well as wielding Effort (Great Sword, Full Attack in an AoE on KO) and wear the Mantle of the Seven Bolts (Shock AoE on KO). Your knockout will be quite devastating...You can do the same with a Wizard - but instead of going KO by yourself you summon an Essential Phantom and let it die for you. You can also add the Shroud of Phantasm and summon 6 copies of yourself (also as Barbarian) which have very low health and die quickly, killing everything around you. It's only 1/rest though. There are lots of items you can build around. Maybe too many to post them all into one thread.1 point

Construct the same statement but with women (or people of color etc.) and you can see how nonsensical that statement is. Would you favor a fantasy setting where women can only choose to pick the handmaiden or midwife class? Because if women in medival fantasy settings could pick any class and if that would be totally normal in that setting - wouldn't that be a spit in the face of the actual struggles women went through back then? Well, let me put it this way: ROFL NO! To which extend is there a point to have? The only spit in the face that might occur when you depict a setting in which certain minorities are treated as equal is the self-perceived spit in the face of those who don't want that minority to be treated equal. Ask gay people if they think that medieval fantasy settings in which gay people are accepted do spit in the face of the actual struggles of past gay people.1 point

The thing is G2A hurts developers. Epic games annoys customers. People find it difficult to care for something that doesn't affect them directly.1 point

StreetFighter/Steel Garrote build(if you want to try solo use this one, i personally dont play solo) you can check this one its pretty decent https://fextralife.com/pillars-of-eternity-2-holy-slayer-build-guide-righteous-rejuvenator/ Assassin/Bleakwalker is not a solo build and there are plenty different ways to build it depending what weapon u want to use, in general on Assassin side you dont want to take many active skills as they all will use precious Guile which you need to turn invisible so take Crippling Strike and its upgrade and then either Smoke Veil or Escape+Shadowing beyond - you dont need both. Dont take Blinding Strike because it uses 2 guile and crippling strike is better, you can take Finnishing Blows at later levels when u got spare points but you wont be using it much once again because it costs Guile and u need it for Invisibility. From Paladin side get Sworn Enemy and its upgrade Sworn Rival , Flames of Devotion + upgrade that adds +10% fire damage, Shining Beacon + upgrade that increases damage recieved of enemies effected by beacon. Rest of talent points put into paasive abilities that gives you more damage. You probably want to stay away from abilities that add DoT effects to enemies because dots can break your invisibility. Interesting gear for Assassin build is : Devil of Caroc breastplate adds you 2 Guile Marux Amanth dagger - keep it in second weapon set and use on near death enemies to restore 2 Guile (When soul binding this dagger bind it to rogue so it restores rogue resources Rusts Poignard - also keep it in second weapon set and use it only for Shadowing Beyond once you rant out of Guile There is also Scordeos trophy pistol which can be used early in the game to start the fights behind your tank make couple of shots to get stacking melee recovery buff before you switch to melee weapons and go for backstabs Ajmuuts Stalking Cloak - cape that is perfect for this build gives you more damage and stun out of invisibility Slippers of the Assassin - makes you invisibile after killing enemy once per encounter but has huge drawback which basically requires you to have cipher in your group if you dont got cipher to use Phantom Foes all the tkme just skip this item Potion of Invisibility - self explanatory find out in wiki where you can buy ingredients for this potion and keep revisiting those vendors every chance u get Main weapon set depends on what kind of assassin u wanna play you can go 2hander meelee , dual-wield melee , arquebus or double pistols/blunderbuss - arquebus will deal most damage from backstab but after you use backstab witth arquebus you will end up in meelee range out of invisibility with ranged weapon that needs to be reloaded which is not that good, but managable. Attributes you want to max Perception Might and Dexterity you can dump Resolve for sure, Int is probably best left at 10 Race - Death God Like for increased damage on low health targets , Human if you want get buffed when you drop below 50% hp or Orlan for hit to crit conversion1 point

When I buy a visual novel and initially think it's promising. Seems possibly intriguing (serial killers, clan feuds, witch legends), user reviews said any romance is very low-key/subtle (what I want). But then I noticed something ... I'm not sure I can take things like plot/dialogue seriously when everyone keeps making this open-mouthed face for surprise/shock. (lower r-corner - you can turn off protag. portraitI think, but it also shows up on main story window chrs. just as often so no escaping it) I mean I'll keep going but it's kind of ruining my "immersion" because I keep laughing.1 point

If you are looking for more talks in the DLCs you should bring Konstanten to SSS, Ydwin to BoW and Fassina to FS. They do get more lines there than the usual companion.1 point

Okay. Just seems weird that a Microsoft-only release for TOW might have been okay, but releasing on Microsoft and the Epic Game Store makes a lot of people want to hoist the Jolly Rodger or rip off the developers through grey-market keys. It's one thing to take advantage of arbitrage and score a cheap key through differences in regional pricing, but much of what makes the discount economies of G2A or Kinguin work is the bulk offloading keys purchased with stolen credit cards. Experiences do vary, and many gamers have okay experiences with those sites, but it can be really hard to explain why a vendor has dozens of day one keys for hot releases sold at a steep discount without considering the potential for fraud. While the sites themselves claim plausible deniability in the sourcing of the keys, participating in such marketplaces often serves to enable money laundering more than helping that one user that somehow accidentally has an "extra key" for a game they purchased. If that's the route players chose to go, I at least hope they get something positive out of the experience before a chargeback hits and invalidates their key. Best of luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor, etc...1 point

After recovering from crippling restartitis, I went back to Deus Ex and committed to a stealthy build (pistol and crossbow with high Computers and Lockpicking) . I'm at the helipad mission - thinking it's 1/4 of the way through - and have finally starting hitting the right stride (stealth takedowns are wildly different in other games). This is simply a masterpiece.1 point

The downside of this schtick is if one of your allies inconveniently tags the target by accident with a stray Carnage, bounced shot, or other hard-to-control source of damage, that's going to be some annoying micromanagement (and potentially lost DPS if you have to significantly suboptimize your party's attacks for fear of eating the Takedown Combo) unless you're doing a solo run. But it's certainly a fun schtick to theorycraft on!1 point

I tested it and it's meh. With community patch backstab isn't applied with every hit on the same enemy. Like it woud be DoT effect that can't be applied before previous ends. Also persistent distraction doesn't work when invisible because you can't engage enemy.1 point

Just launched yesterday: Toby's Island- the second Kickstarter for the "Creature Collecting, Farming Sim, Town Restoration RPG". I backed the original KS. Game has been delayed but the developer has made much progress and is planning on putting it in Steam Early Access next month. Might be of interest to Stardew Valley fans who wish it had turn-based combat. Solasta: Crown of the Magister. A CRPG using (D&D) 5e ruleset (OGL) and turn-based tactical combat. They have a playable demo you can DL off their steam page.1 point

I made some progress. I was successful in changing Pallegina's hair style. I also managed to make a new look for Xoti. before after With currently available modding tools (unity asset bundle extractor in short uabe) it is possible to change the appearance of any object in the game. Skilled people may even create new meshes for npc's, armor, weapons or even redesign maps. What's not possible is making new things and add them to the game. The appearance of any npc, weapon etc is defined by a prefab monobehavier file in the items.unity3d assetbundle. With uabe it is possible to edit existing files, but because of a bug in uabe file creation routine, it is currently not possible to make new blank files of this sort. I also figure that such mods are not very practical in the future, as they will have problems with overriding already used addresses. I got a clue though how one could make own assetbundles, which would circumvent such problems and the problem of file size. Creating a guide for all this will take me some time, but I'm on it.1 point
