What are you playing right now

Played the new update for Age of Barbarian. The new story content is brutal even for this game. I really did not expect it to end that way. So cudos to the devs for that. But they really need to hire someone who actually speaks English to rewrite that mess - I am half expecting the next enemy to inform me that "you have no chance to survive make your time".

Unobtrusively informing you about my new ebook (which you should feel free to read and shower with praise).

Funny English aside, it's a fun game. I've been playing it on and off the last month. Usually in short sessions between other things I need to do. I might just have to get a controller for it though.

Ouch, that sucks. Little comfort that you would have beaten the game if it hadn't decided to cheat :p

Played some more Pillars of Eternity. I'm now the master of a ruin and what I assume is my major domo handed me a long laundry list of repairs and bills to pay for said repairs. Needless to say, east barbican came first and reading through several items, I went for the main keep (trying to gauge how many addons has it as a pre-requisite). Also remembered there was something about a bear in a cave close to the starting point (mauled me badly when I first went there), so took my 5 man strong party and made a nice rug for a fireplace out of it. Picked up one of those nice little mini quests there too. Decided to just get as many coins out of it as possible. Yes, my first inclination was violent, but I figured the kill them all and let the gods sort them out might not works so well in this setting?

Skyrim Remastered huh? I guess you CAN eat the same meal twice.

It's been a while since I played it that it's one of those games I might actually get for my PS4.  But not until the price drops a lot.

Anyone here a lootcrate subscriber? A couple months back was a Star Trek themed one came with a code for some goodies for Star Trek Online. Anyone have that code still and are willing to part with it?

Am I considered a bad person for wanting to pick up the Skyrim Remastered for the PS4 so I can play on my couch?

Just get a Steam Link or a longass HDMI cable. Both solve more than just Skyrim Remastered on a couch.

Edit: You don't even need Steam Link actually, just have your computer and your laptop (if you have on) on the same local network and use Steam streaming.

I got hooked on Town of Salem last night.

The only time I survive to the end was when I played Jester as a bumbling newbie bodyguard. That got me lynched my first game, why not this game? :(

Eh Steam streaming is kinda bad in my experience, but yeah, HDMI cables for the win.

Needs to be a good one, though, depending on length. My old 10 meter cable wasn't working anymore after I bought a new (newer + bigger) tv last year. Bought a little bit shorter one that was much thicker (better isolated), but cost about 150€. It was worth it, though, not just for gaming.

Might as well. It's free. Incredibly life-like cheese wheels.

Haven't gotten around to getting the DLC for it. Unfortunately just buying all of that sans the base game is more expensive than buying the GOTY edition. Think I'll just wait till that Remastered Edition is on a Steam sale. After all, I haven't had the itch to go back to Skyrim since 2012 anyways.

“Political philosophers have often pointed out that in wartime, the citizen, the male citizen at least, loses one of his most basic rights, his right to life; and this has been true ever since the French Revolution and the invention of conscription, now an almost universally accepted principle. But these same philosophers have rarely noted that the citizen in question simultaneously loses another right, one just as basic and perhaps even more vital for his conception of himself as a civilized human being: the right not to kill.”

Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology that fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete."

Now that it's been said, I do have a steam link and just never thought of it.  Haven't used in quite some time, so will probably need to update it for sure.  Hopefully the latency isn't too bad.  Anyone have any experience with steam links and latency?  I have it hardwired and not setup for wifi.

Anyone know if mods on pc will disable achievements?  I know they do on the xbox and ps4, but wasn't sure if anyone had heard about the SE for pc, since I don't recall the original having them disabled due to mods.

wow, exactly my situation. I thought I was alone on these boards with that problem (in my case I ran out of steam playing Skyrim about 3 days after getting it, because it was so similar to Morrowing, only uglier and with less soul).

I don't have experience with Steam Link per se, but I did have the configuration of having my laptop hooked to TV and connected to our apartment's LAN network, played via Steam streaming service. Vast majority of games I have tried worked just fine, without any noticeable lag even. I can imagine link'll work even better. If you don't believe me tho, just ask George!

And the review is nearly a year old now, so I can imagine quite a few things got updated.

The original definitely did not disable achievements for installed mods. Don't worry, soon enough, a mod to enabled achievements with installed mods will come out.

Witcher 3.  Finished the main quest for Blood & Wine.  Pretty good overall story.  Now I just have to finish off a couple of sidequests and treasure hunts in the Toussaint area.

A lot more Mad Max.  I haven't been this hooked on a game in a while.  It very much features the nearly endless collect-a-thon/checklist grind that I've generally grown bored of lately, but the game cleverly has included quite a lot of checklist stuff that you can do without ever getting out of your car (especially once you get cleanup crews).  While the on-foot combat is competent enough and features some great animations, the game really shines when you're inside your vehicle.  It has one of the best driving models of any non dedicated racing game out there and the vehicular combat is a real blast.  As a side benefit, it makes traversing the vast landscape extremely enjoyable, which dulls the pain of the collect-a-thon grind quite effectively.  I use fast travel in most open world games very liberally, I nearly never use it in Mad Max.

Right now I've taken a break from the main story to go back to Jeet's region and finish 100%-ing it.

So after a few more days with Civ6 I definitely like it more than 5,and aspects of it more than 4.the way religion works I like a lot, but natural spread seems broken. The policy system is way better than the civics system of Civ 5, and more realistic than governments from civ 4.

The one unit per tile seems less restrictive than civ 5 too, with allowing 1 unit per type.

Not at all. I'm doing the same, just not at full price.

Although now that you mention it, I should try Steam Big Picture mode on this new TV. Hmm.

All Stop. On Screen.
