Niten_Ryu Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 [i think you're overstating the differences between the systems. Gromnir is correct about the differences. My first run was on hard difficulty (PC version), Rogue main character and Morrigan had minor healing spell. Redding swarm was the most difficult battle in the game for me on that run. Next run I had Mage main character, went to Mage Tower first and thus had 3 mage party. On hard difficulty Redding was a joke with that party setup. Let's play Alpha Protocol My misadventures on youtube.

Er, so unless your second run was on a console, your point would be that party composition matters more than the system? I've played it on an identical party, both systems, (admittedly lower difficulty on PC), and got the "resounding victory" on the PC with miminal hassle. But, sure, if it makes you guys feel more 1337, feel free to keep arguing that the PC version is harder. I have no data to back that up. You're a cheery wee bugger, Nep. Have I ever said that? Oner Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 (edited) Redcliffe for me was a one sided massacre. My side was massacred I mean. Amentep Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 How can anyone be massacred at Redcliffe? Easiest part of the game no matter what difficulty you are on, or your party composition is. Easy easy easy. Have your NPCs run into the bonfire in the first attack, have them run outside of the circle in the second attack, have them separated in the dungeon in the infiltration when the skeletons get triggered. I got killed though once in gate area, my team separated and triggered all the darkspawn in the area, who proceeded to bash me. I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man
Thorton_AP Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 I found the Redcliffe area (which I went to first) to be a very challenging part of the game. Died a lot. Played on the PC.
WorstUsernameEver Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Apparently the NDA on the Comic-con hands-on is only for images and photos, so we should get more meaty impressions on the Bioware fora and elsewhere pretty soon-ish.

Because in those three cases the first time I played I almost lost my party (and did totally in the fourth case) and I don't remember you being there. Volourn Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 Heh. I was replying to your statement as if it were a question because you had 'have your..' at the start. btw, Anyone who thinks that DA2 will only have struictly 3 dialogue ioptions ar ebeing fooled by a horrible preview, BIO has flat out said they lied . And, I quote: "We put up to 5 choice options and 5 investigate options per dialog node. There is also a difference between choices (where you are actually deciding something) and giving you the opportunity to express yourself in different ways (which I think is quite cool, but not something I believe we have released any details on yet)." Because in those three cases the first time I played I almost lost my party (and did totally in the fourth case) and I don't remember you being there. But thanks for the compliment on my gaming skills (even if you overestimate them)! there were a number o' threads on bio's da boards that observed the relative difficulty o' attempting redcliff as a first option post lothering. vol is being vol. the deep roads were probable the toughest challenge for a beginning player, but redcliff weren't far behind on the frustration-meter as expressed by posters at bio. the battles in redcliff tended to be loooooooong, and given the fact that many players had only morrigan (and probable little or no lyrium potions) as a non-healing spellcaster, there were far less margin for error than the elf or mage portions o' the game... you were not able to inch towards daylight. also, am wondering what kinda sick joke were the flaming oil. the undead would run through the fire quickly, being burned for minimal damage, but apparently our defenders liked to camp out and enjoy the flames. HA! Good Fun! ps the dialogue wheel... sucks. have 5 v. 3 emotes not make much difference when you still only gots 2 genuine vo responses. is developer sleight-o'-hand. Thorton_AP Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 Was ME2 better? I seem to remember the general idea was 3 typical options to choose from which was "Friendly/Nice," "Neutral" "Aggressive" I only played through ME2 twice though so obviously I hadn't chosen every dialogue action. Could always load 'er back up again I suppose to verify
