Deadly_Nightshade
Someone managed to get a copy of Borderlands early... There's less than a week until the public release so I do not think that it's too impressive. "Geez. It's like we lost some sort of bet and ended up saddled with a bunch of terrible new posters on this forum." -Hurlshot

Less than a week till console release. *shakes fist* The point was less about the "early" aspect and more about, if you want to see some gameplay, he's streaming it right now. As a bonus there are a couple devs in the chat room watching him play as well. EDIT: He dies a lot. Edited October 15, 2009 by Deraldin
Slowtrain
I need info on how the single player game shapes up. Story, dialogue, towns, shops, characters etc and so forth. If its 99% running around shooting things, it will need to do that really well before I'm willing to pay full price. Notice how I can belittle your beliefs without calling you names. It's a useful skill to have particularly where you aren't allowed to call people names. It's a mistake to get too drawn in/worked up. I mean it's not life or death, it's just two guys posting their thoughts on a message board. If it were personal or face to face all the usual restraints would be in place, and we would never have reached this place in the first place. Try to remember that. Matthew Rorie
I cautiously pre-ordered this on Steam. Curious to see how it turns out. With all the games that I'm working on but haven't finished, I think I'm going to need a little staycation sometime next month to catch up. entrerix
It looks like a Fallout 3 wannabe. it looks absolutely nothing like fallout 3 to me (except the setting has junk in it). so one of us is retarded. i leave it to god to decide which as i can only be judged by my peers and only god is my homie Edited October 15, 2009 by entrerix Killing is kind of like playin' a basketball game. Syraxis
I'm surprised that no one called out on the RPG/FPS "baby" marketing, because wouldn't that go to Deus Ex? As for Borderlands, I'll wait until the price drops. I've got a ton of other games that I should really finish anyway.
LadyCrimson
I just heard about this game. If the singleplayer component is ok (like Diablo2's was), then I might like it. Certainly looks amusing. “Things are as they are. Purkake
I'm surprised that no one called out on the RPG/FPS "baby" marketing, because wouldn't that go to Deus Ex? Deus Ex would be a WRPG/FPS hybrid, while Borderlands is more of an ARPG(hack and slash)/FPS hybrid, focusing on the loot and multiplayer aspects instead of the story or characters. vault_overseer
My neighbor has a flashed console, so I got to play it a little last night. Loved the music(very mark morganish) and towns, dialogues are ok. Story just works, nothing too exciting. There's a ton of different guns, really cool. Overall it's pretty much what a fallout action-rpg should be. Edited October 17, 2009 by vault_overseer
Humodour
I don't see how this has any relation to Fallout at all. It's not like the Fallout settings/atmosphere, it's not like the Fallout story, it's not like the Fallout combat, it's not like the Fallout graphics. WILL THE ALMIGHTY
How does a game get 7.4 for story when the reviewer just got through saying there really isn't one? Because there are sidequests and there probably is a main quest as well. Those probably have stories or maybe they're really mundane. Usually games with absolutely no stories at all (basically things like WiiFit Plus) skip the story rating in GT reviews. Edited October 20, 2009 by WILL THE ALMIGHTY "Alright, I've been thinking. When life gives you lemons, don't make lemonade - make life take the lemons back! Get mad! I don't want your damn lemons, what am I supposed to do with these? Demand to see life's manager. Make life rue the day it thought it could give Cave Johnson lemons. Do you know who I am? I'm the man who's gonna burn your house down! With the lemons. I'm going to to get my engineers to invent a combustible lemon that burns your house down!"
Purkake
Don't ever pay too close attention to the review score. I watch/link the GT reviews because they give a nice overview of a game, the score is as bad as any other. The game review score scale has been 6-9 for a long time now. entrerix
story might also include things like character and dialogue, so even though there is no main "story" the characters and dialogue make up for it to the point of a 7.4? im just guessing, i know nothing about that site i really just want the game for the splitscreen, i love splitscreen coop games that dont suck. mr insomniac
Giant Bomb 30 min gameplay video. Ok, I can't wait to play this game. I took this job because I thought you were just a legend. Just a story. A story to scare little kids. But you're the real deal. The demon who dares to challenge God. So what the hell do you want? Don't seem to me like you're out to make this stinkin' world a better place. Why you gotta kill all my men? Why you gotta kill me? Nothing personal. It's just revenge.
