Do I stay on top of the boat and get electrocuted, or do I jump over by the shark and not get electrocuted? Because I will tell you, he didn’t know the answer. He said, ‘You know, nobody’s ever asked me that question.” I said, ‘I think it’s a good question.’ I think there’s a lot of electric current coming through that water. But you know what I’d do if there was a shark or you get electrocuted, I’ll take electrocution every single time. I’m not getting near the shark. So we’re going to end that.

What do you think Trump is going to do if he wins in November, what concerns you the most?

Im concerned more with his foreign policy decisions like NATO membership and aid for Ukraine 

I cant see Israel aid changing and we will probably see more escalating tension towards China and Iran?

Unsurprisingly the Tories have lost the election in Britain. Moderate lols at both Farage and Corbyn winning, and Truss losing. Big lols at Keir Starmer being described as 'left wing' when he's the dictionary definition of milquetoast moderate.

Guess at least Rishi Sunak can console himself with the thought that he's still richer than his head of state.

Yes I have heard lots of things Trump says, that doesnt mean he is going to do these things which is why I asked you what concerns you the most?

Yes, it was a predicted loss for the Conservatives 

It will be interesting to see what fundamental, if any, changes  Labour makes 

But Democracy is the winner, if you not happy with leadership you can use the ballet box to make your unhappiness realized

I am not sure if democracy is winner when party that gets 1/3 of votes gets 2/3 of the seats

If anything, it demonstrates another extremely flawed system.

 

Happy Corbyn did well. Not surprised but still disappointed Galloway didn't. Congratulations to Ayoub Khan who won in my old neighbourhood.

Don't know if proportional representation would work that well in the UK, certainly not MMP type. It'd probably just result in the libdems getting eviscerated for (not) going into coalition with the wrong people like always happens to the centre party here. They've barely recovered from Clegg's decision and there would be even more pressure to choose under MMP. And it's unfortunately unlikely politicians would ever go for something actually decent like multi member STV since it weakens parties, unlike MMP.

In most other circumstances 34% would be a dismal result for Labour and they must still be concerned about the number of people in their traditional heartland who have not come back. It's likely the tories can get a lot of the reform vote back but it may be permanently lost to a Labour party that isn't even chardonnay socialist any more.

Civil War was an interesting movie.

Um, I don't think this whole Biden re-election thing is working out. It really kind of sounds like he's lost his marbles. Now, Biden without his marbles is still approximately...let me check here, oh yes, infinitely better than Trump, but I'm not certain that's going to get the guy re-elected. Actually, I'm pretty sure that the more he talks in public, the less likely he will be.

It's funny that Trump will probably win because the dems couldn't convince Biden to go home and their uncritical support for Israel's slaughter of Gaza alienates key blocs they need to win. They have been screaming that this is the most important election in the history of elections but can't make a single tactical move to try to help their electoral chances, let alone attempt to curtail Trump and Leonard Leo's goons in any other way. Honestly it's just pathetic to watch a party this bad at real politics being the only electoral bulwark against the most abominable political ghouls still breathing.

I dunno, maybe an economic crash happens with Trump/Project 2025 and Marx or Bakunin gets proved right. There's probably more of a chance of thay happening than the dems getting their **** together.

If we look Trump's first term, we can say there isn't ideas that are too extreme for the Trump. Question is more about how much support he gets in congress to push the ideas. Trump himself is principleless vane that goes where wind (his base's opinion) at that moment blows.

Even just 1 or 2 points on that list would be a catastrophe for the US.

 

In any case, Trump is easily manipulated. If the right people have access to him, a lot can be made to happen.

Not even money... he loves adoration. Stroke his ego and any decision, no matter how inane, is yours. Notice how his role models are people like Kim, Putin, Modi and previously Bolsonaro etc.? Interesting French election outcome, the general global media got these predictions wrong where they made assumptions that RN would win the second round
