So far so good. The negative reviews are as expected. Just a bit weird that the majority is in cyrillic. 🤔 But oh well, so far so good.

See, it all depends on which threads you're paying attention to...  😅

Pretty sure I posted it earlier in this thread as well. Oh well, no one said life is fair.

Well no clue why I missed that post right before mine, I checked previous page. Maybe didn't reload the page. Whoops then.

In what game? They had at some point inferior version of later Hitman, but after they found out how it sucks, theynremoved it from catalogue. Don’t remeber any other such case.

what happened gog did they finally allow drm

There have been small levels of DRM in some of the released games, e.g., Twitch drops, online functionality/multiplayer, one (?) game "can be started but can't be played without creating a player profile and save game online. It is fully DRM-ed!".

some think creative assembly might be complete sold off soon

hope paradox doesn't buy total war

Well, looking at their current DLC policy, it is quite possible, that this possible outcome, would end as a positive thing for the fans :shrugz:

as bad as creative assembly can be

there are far worse out there

the 2 dlc before shadow of change was even good

who ever bought the total war franchise can easily be as awful as bethesda

Meh. It’s a mixed bag. Obviously, if a game has some form of multiplayer functionality, it will require internet connection, and it will better have build in security features so I can enjoy multiplayer with minimal amount of cheaters. As long as non-online functionality works fine, I would call it less of a DRM, and more “realities of life”.

I also dont mind minor, meaningless rewards like in BG3, but we are entering a slippery slope of devs incentivising connecting online by unique content (and how disposable such content is will depend player to player).

I have been mostly happy with GOG releases I bought, but they did relax their policy in recent years somewhat.

Imagine you bought a piano for full price and when it arrived at your home parts were missing. About 40 of the keys are missing, the door on top that covers all the machinery is missing, one of the pedals is missing, the little stand for your sheet music is missing, and so on. The piano is technically functional, you can play music on it, but you are severely limited in what songs you can play on account of all the missing parts. But don't worry, those missing parts will get added later in piano expansion packs that will cost you more money and eventually, after a couple of years and spending an additional double what you paid for the piano in the first place, you might have a complete piano, assuming the piano company doesn't abandon the piano before all the planned piano expansions are actually made and shipped.

Who would buy a piano like that? I sure wouldn't. I don't buy video games like that either.

I don't think the analogy works. I mean, unless the game is missing the ending, or like you can't move forward unless you buy an expansion. It's more like "here is a piano, but if you want to play it, you need to pay for lessons and sheet music and maybe a bench to sit on. Also it will sound like crap after awhile if you don't get it tuned. Also it's heavy and no one wants to help you move it up to your 3rd floor apartment with no lift. Why are are you even buying a piano when you live in a studio apartment? You need to buy a bigger place."
