the_dog_days Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 There are people who believed in the Illuminati prior to Dan Brown, but his novels have obviously boosted the myth into the mainstream. 4chan did the same with flat earthers.
majestic Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 (edited) Exactly. It HAS to be round. How else could the sun revolve around it like it does??? I watched Behind the Curve recently. I'd recommend giving it a try. It deals by far and large with the flat earth community, not the theory itself. That they do debunk very well on their own, aside from the video already linked they've also acquired a 20k $ laser gyroscope to prove that the Earth doesn't rotate. Guess what? It does. 15° per hour. Who would have thought? edit: The documentry has a single standout moment that's not linked to flat earth theory in itself. There's this woman on YouTube, her name's Patricia Steere and she's been advocating various conspiracy theories and debating them for a while. By now people think that she's a plant - her name's PatriCIA STEERe after all. A CIA plant meant to steer them, get it? Get IT? Yeah. She bemoans that no amount of proof on her part convinced the others that she's not an agent and for a lucid moment contemplates if she's guilty of doing the very same. It passes in an instant though and she dismisses it. She knows she's not like that, after all. Heh. Edited March 2, 2019 by majestic 1 No mind to think. No will to break. No voice to cry suffering.
Raithe Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Sometimes I feel like the living in another world genre is one massive ****post made by Japan. To be fair, both China and Korea pump out a huge amount of those reincarnation webnovels. Some are funny, some are serious, some are pulpy, and some are just soooo downright weird. InsaneCommander Posted March 2, 2019 Posted March 2, 2019 Flat Earthers accidentally prove the Earth is round in Netflix documentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=3&v=RMjDAzUFxX0 Lol. A curved Earth is something they can at least understand, even if they don't believe it. But imagine trying to explain to them that the universe could not be flat.

The true nature of freedom is such, that the human mind is unable to comprehend it, so we make a cage and name it freedom in order to give a tangible meaning to what we dont understand, just as our ancestors made gods like Thor or Zeus to explain thunder. -Teknoman2- What? Orogun01 Posted March 5, 2019 Posted March 5, 2019 Oldie but goodie I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"* *If you can't tell, it's you.
