Game randomly crashing
magusfva posted a question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
I've recently downloaded the game on Steam after a few months without playing. Now the game keeps randomly crashing during gameplay (not during loading screens or any specific action). It just gives me a Windows message that the game stopped working and needs to be closed. I've already tried to delete and reinstall the game, no success. I also tried verifying the game cache, but it found no errors. I have an Acer laptop, Intel Core I7 7500U, NVIDIA GeForce 940 MX 4gb, 8gb ram, running Windows 10. Need some help. -
There is an ending where Maneha "Rediscovers her lust for battle, and her also having a lover, saying she had a life of violence, excitment, and passion. While there is an ending for Zahua saying that he took on a new apprentice, a female, trained her in everything he knew before she finally left for her own journey. Does anyone out there know how to achieve these endings? I've searched all over google and only know how to get every other ending on Pillars of Eternity EXCEPT those two. Has anyone ever got those two before? Thank you for your time reading this and hopefully having an answer to it.

Commander Baelorin
ThatOneGy posted a topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Ok, i just bought the dlc and went to Cragholdt Bluffs and after stealthing all the way to Commander Baelorin, killing no one, he still accuses me of slaughtering his men and attacks. This is really dumb, and i'm wondering if this is because i was noticed at all, or f there's no way to avoid conflict here. Help plz -
Hi so for the quest I have to obtain all four notes to open cragholdt's door. The only note I'm missing is Pelden's - I saw it when I was looting his body but somehow it disappeared from my inventory and stash. Basically I'm stuck without this note. I've looted his body completely, I can't click on his corpse anymore. Help?

So Josh Sawyer posted this poll Twitter recently, but Twitter poll durations are limited to 7 days max. I thought I might put the same question to the Obsidian community. My own opinion is that it would make a lot of sense to leverage Obsidian's existing relationship with Paizo to release a Pathfinder-compatible PoE setting sourcebook. That said, , and a significant amount of that thought went toward addressing perceived balance issues in games like DnD 3.5e and Pathfinder. It'd be a shame not to preserve that spirit in a tabletop adaptation - PoE is more than just its setting, after all.

I prepurchased the Champion Edition on GOG.com with the understanding that there would be upgrade options at a later time to the higher tiered editions. Nearly a year later the promised upgrade options are still not available despite availability on Steam. My intention was to buy the game, and a month or so later to buy the Royal upgrade. But that has not materialized yet and my question is: What gives? Why are you keeping money out of your own pocket? I am not the only person on GOG.com who wanted to upgrade their purchase, was told it would be an option, and then got stuck waiting. I'm not spending another $60 (Champion Edition) or $90 (Royal Edition) for a game I already paid $45 for. So What gives? If I read it right, Steam has the upgrade pack options, so why screw over the GOG crowd? Is it because we are fewer in number? I don't understand the mentality. Is it too hard to release upgrade options (for out of game goodies at that) for a game on the GOG platform? What is going on here? Thanks for your time.

Hello everyone, Recently, when I want to play Pillars of Eternity, the game crashes when I try to travel to another destination outside Elms Reach. I think the problem exists ever since I've updated my OS to Windows 10 - because I almost played the whole game trough without a problem on Windows 7. I've uploaded all my files here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/pl4nb3mgzuyoe9l/AAA07uNi9fNggEidznTT-Y5la?dl=0 Thanks so much, it would mean a lot of me to get back to playing Pillars, I really love the game and just recently bought both add ons. Cheers, Bolle

Update by Brandon Adler, Lead Producer Hey, everybody. We have lots of cool Pillars of Eternity news for you today. Everything from our Update 3.0 Beta to a last chance to get your very own copy of Lords of the Eastern Reach. Last chance at Lords of the Eastern Reach! As most of you know, Lords of the Eastern Reach is a card game from Zero Radius Games that is based on the Pillars of Eternity license. The game had a successful Kickstarter last year and Zero Radius Games is about to send the game for printing. If you didn't get a chance to put in an order, but want to get your hands on the game in the near future, there is still time. Just head over to its Backer Portal and make a pledge! Even better, if you already have an account made for the Pillars of Eternity Backer Portal it will work with the Lords of the Eastern Reach portal. Update 3.0 Beta In preparation for The White March - Part II launching next month we are putting out a 3.0 Beta on Steam. The 3.0 Update comes with a ton of changes, bug fixes, and new features. We need your help in looking over everything to make sure that the community is happy with the direction of some of these changes. If you are able, we would really appreciate that you opt into the Beta patch and supply feedback in our forums. As always, you guys are what helps to make Pillars of Eternity the best game it can be. Here is a small list of features and changes that we would like feedback on: The value/feeling of Athletics and Survival, both on their own and relative to other skills. Do any of the Survival bonuses feel way out of line with the other bonuses? How do Knockout Injuries feel? Are they too punishing? Not punishing enough? Do any injuries feel way out of line with other injuries? Assuming you like the idea of Story Time, how does it feel to you? Does it make the game more enjoyable for you, or does it just remove combat as an obstacle that you didn't like in the first place? Do you like the new Stronghold Adventures? Do you like the narrative elements of them? How do the unique items you get from them feel? Do any of the unique items seem out of line with other items considering their relative difficulty level (i.e., comparing Minor to Minor, Grand to Grand)? Do you like the presentation and content of the Stronghold Visitor Dilemmas? How do you feel about the setup of the scenes? Are there any dilemmas that you don't like? Do you feel like the dilemmas all give you a good range of options for resolving them? Does the combat in the last third of the main game (from Elmshore on) feel better? Specifically, have we removed enough battles that feel like trash mobs or filler? Have we improved the fights there so they are a) challenging and b) more interesting? The same question, but on levels 7, 8, and 11 of the Endless Paths of Od Nua. For a more in-depth look at some of the changes and fixes, head over here and check it out. Update by Brandon Adler, Producery Fellow Hey, everyone. This is just a quick and dirty update for you on the backer poll we mentioned in our update from last week, some pics of the strategy guide, and news about PAX East. Our next update will come out in the next few weeks when we will discuss how backers can redeem their game from the Backer Portal. Poll Results First, we would like to thank all of our backers for taking the time to vote. It is very important to us that you are able to express your choice and voice your opinion about the shipping of rewards. At close to 75% of the vote, it looks like shipping the physical rewards at the game's release and the game discs at a later date is the winner. This is how we will proceed with the shipping. We realize that some of our backers have been asking about the possibility of selectively opting out of this choice and instead getting their items shipped to them all at once, multiple weeks after the game's release. We don't have an answer for this right now, but we are discussing the possibility with Paradox. Depending on the logistical realities we may not be able to provide this option, but we will explore the possibility. As for now, everyone will have their physical rewards shipped as soon as possible, and their game discs at a later date. Prima Games - Collector's Edition Strategy Guide We've been hard at work collaborating with Prima Games on the strategy guide for Pillars of Eternity. The folks over at Prima Games are not only working on creating the awesome Digital Guide for you backers, but will also be releasing a beautifully printed copy of the guide. Pillars of Eternity is a big RPG, and Prima Games is working to make sure that every inch of our huge game world is covered. The guide will include: Main Quest: A comprehensive walkthrough of the main story. Side Quests and Tasks: An easy reference to all side quests. Atlas: Maps for all critical locations in the vast world of Eora. Training: How to create a character and expertly assign points to attributes and skills. Achievements, Secrets, and exclusive bonuses. The guide will also feature a Thank You section. If you pledged at a tier that included getting your name in the game's credits, you'll also find yourself featured here! As an added plus, all physical copies of the guide will include an access code for a free digital guide, viewable on any connected device. If you missed out on pledging for the strategy guide, the Collector's Edition Guide is a great option for getting all the tips and tricks you'll need for your journey through Eora. To preorder the guide, you can head here. PAX East The Pillars crew will be heading to PAX East to give a panel on March 7th. Josh, Tim, Adam, Chris, Shane, and I will be there to demo and answer questions about the project. If you are going to be there make sure to stop by the Albatross Theatre at 4:30 PM to check it out. That's it for now. Talk to you folks again when we give instructions on how to redeem your game and rewards.

Update by Brandon Adler, Lead Producer Hey, everyone. We have two bits of news for you today. One is about Zero Radius Games' Pillars of Eternity card game and the other is about updates for the DVD copies of the game. Pillars of Eternity Card Game: Lords of the Eastern Reach A quick note to let everyone know the Pillars of Eternity card game is in its last 24 hours. They've opened up 13 Stretch goals adding 82 more cards, solo rules, a wooden Pigeeple of the Spectral Pig, better cards, bigger dice, and are coming up on adding the Chanter troop type to the game. Plus, they just added a Campaign Book for people to be able to play through a whole series of scenarios that tell a story. Yeah... they've been busy. Check it out, and if it looks cool the guys at ZRG would be very appreciative of your backing. DVD Updates We have good news for everyone that has a DVD backer copy of the game, but would like the latest 1.06 update. You can now head over to our Backer Portal to download an update to the latest version of the game. Updates and installation instructions for all three OSes are on the page. When a new update is released in the future, we will add the new patches in this location.

Here at ZRG, we've been making games for over 10 years and we've been working on LOER for over two years. Lords of the Eastern Reach is an officially licensed product based on Pillars of Eternity. We are currently running a Kickstarter here: http://kck.st/1J9eVia Obsidian is kindly letting us use their forums. Thanks, Obsidian! The Announcement and News forum is for posts from the ZRG team for important updates. The Speculation & Discussion forum is for general posts about the game. Update by Brandon Adler, Lead Producer Hello, backers. Obsidian has some very exciting news! Today marks the first day of a brand new Kickstarter for the Pillars of Eternity card game, Lords of the Eastern Reach. Lords of the Eastern Reach is a strategic card game of adventure and empire building based on Pillars of Eternity. You must protect and build a city. Hire heroes and troops for defense or to delve into dangerous dungeons for loot and glory. Build towers, blacksmiths and other buildings to gain the advantage and go for the win. The game is designed for 2-4 players and takes about 20-30 minutes per player. This gives the game a substantial feel while still being able to fit a game in on a work night. Turns are very interactive, with players being able to perform actions like building and hiring on other players' turns. No more sitting around waiting for your turn to come up! The original video game development team was actively involved in its development. The design of the card game was done by game industry veteran Chris Taylor (Lead Designer, Fallout) while much of the game's development was done by Obsidian's own Scott Everts and John Lewis. Lords of the Eastern Reach also features artwork created by Pillars of Eternity artists such as John Lewis, Kaz Aruga, Polina Hristova and more. If you are interested check out the video above where Feargus Urquhart and Chris Taylor go into the basics of the card game and talk about the Lords of the Eastern Reach Kickstarter in more detail. If you would like to back and get your hands on your own copy, head over to the game's Kickstarter page and donate.

Update by Brandon Adler, Patch Wrangler Hey, everyone. The Pillars of Eternity team is still hard at work in stomping out bugs, balancing gameplay, and adding in some additional polish where needed. Patch 1.04, our latest patch that dropped earlier today, has a good amount of these fixes. You can find the patch notes at the end of this update. For patch 1.05, which we are targeting for a May release, will continue adding these fixes along with some additional new features. For example, we are adding in the ability to change your player's portrait and voice set any time during the game and adding new shaders for Afflictions (like Petrified). Patch Betas After consulting with the community the Pillars of Eternity team has decided to start making patch betas available. This will give players the opportunity to get new fixes faster and it will allow developers the chance to see potential problems in a patch sooner. Due to technical limitations, the patches are only being offered on Steam. We are investigating getting the patch beta process on GOG, but it may not be possible. When we make new patches available for beta we will let the community know on our Announcement and News forum. If you would like to join in the beta fun, please take a look at this post that describes the exact process for getting into the betas on Steam. Patch 1.04 Notes Here are the patch notes for 1.04: Items, Spells, and Abilities AOE indicators should now properly resize if the caster has a sub 10 Intellect score. Fixed an issue with over-time aura spells not applying the correct value on the final tick. Knock Down will now correctly be applied for the full duration of the effect. Mantle of The Dying Boar will now trigger at 33% Endurance with the effect of 5 Endurance a tick. Talisman of the Unconquerable will now give a 1.25 Focus multiplier instead of .25. Blooded should trigger properly in all cases now. Boar Animal Companion bonus damage should now work as intended. Prone Reduction mod should now work correctly. Quests and Companions Fixed Aloth and Kana speaking when they weren't in the party in one of the last levels. Sagani's fox-specific banters now require the appropriate items in the player inventory. Falanroed's dialogue no longer displays a script node. Durance will now properly discuss your dream with you if you've already discussed his staff. Relaxed some constraints on Durance's quest conversation. This allows all characters, regardless of background or stats, to finish his quest. Players can now loot the nest in Oldsong. Fixed an invalid conditional check in one of Pallegina's conversations. Heritage Hill tower will be fully revealed when exploring the map. Fixed spawn issue in a scripted interaction near the end of the game. Fixed an invalid creature spawn in the Ogre Lair in Od Nua. Sagani no longer references the antagonist by name before you know it. A container in the Catacombs of Od Nua will now remember if it was looted. The "Master's Tools" quest will now work if you have the required items before starting the quest. The "A Two Story Job" scripted interaction will not require a second grappling hook to climb down from the window if one was already used to climb up. General Fixes Fix for camera movement problems when the game is paused or in a cutscene. Fix to retroactively restore party movement in saves that display movement speed problems. Made some fixes to movement speed problems that were being reported with some items. Optimized Save/Load game system for better performance. Optimized how scene transitions are handled for better memory usage on 32-bit machines. This may allow players to transition to new areas without running out of memory. Sound Sets from hired companions will now be properly restored when adding them to the party from the stronghold. "All Stronghold Upgrades" achievement now checks 25 upgrades instead of 26. This will properly reward the achievement if you already have fully upgraded your stronghold. The "Kill All Dragons" achievement will now properly fire if they are killed indirectly (like by a trap). This is a retroactive fix and will be rewarded if the dragons are already dead. Fixed issue where store prices were getting exceptionally large after receiving a discount. Fixed issues with gaining infinite XP from bad Stronghold data. World time will not get very large in some cases after Save/Load. Modelling offset with Durance's head has been adjusted. Icon scale is now correct on Hearth Harvest and Reghar Konnek. All shaders will now compile properly under DirectX 11. Restored all the missing effects in the intro cutscene. Removed Blunderbuss item from an early game loot table. Changed the cursor type on the blood pool in the Temple of Skaen to conversation. Fixed a few save game issues with dead summoned creatures. Fixed issue where occasionally a crash would occur when initializing the Steam API. Draggable windows are now handled properly when running at very high resolutions. Swamp Lurker's animation wont spaz anymore when the game is paused. Fixed an issue to prevent binding mouse buttons to window controls. Game will now pause if you alt-tab during a cutscene in full screen mode. Audio will now resume properly if the game loses focus. Fixed an issue with infinite load screen if you transition while hovering over a container. Characters will now wait for their idle animation before trying to reload which fixes an animation sync issue. Damaged characters performing AoE attacks will not overload their AI state stacks anymore.
