A bit STARSHIP TROOPER, innit?

What's not to like about an alternate dystopian future for the Marvel U? They have a few already (Age of Apocalypse, Days of Future Past, Cable's future, Bishop's future, Machine Man's future, Original Guardians of the Galaxy future, Earth-X off the top of my head)

Technically I think its "Little Person" now. As far as action movies, why try to top Weng Weng? Nah, I'm sure He-Man fanboys whined about appropriation back then as well, they just didn't have the internet to amplify their outrage. Also lol at the idea of Doom cannon. Have you read Masters of Doom? Story wasn't exactly a sacred cow at id. Mostly the complaints were about giving She-Ra the Horde as villains (in the toys, Hordak and the Horde are He-Man villains). But even that complaint is a bit begrudgingly made because She-Ra the toyline really only had Catra as a villain. Thor still existed while Jane Foster was Thor. Now that Jane Foster is dead, Thor is back as the main character in the Thor books. Spider-Man has only ever been replaced by his clone, Ben Reilly and briefly mind swapped with Otto Octavious as part of a long story-line. All the other Spider-characters (The Spider-Women (Jessica Drew, Gwen Stacey, Julia Carpenter, Mattie Franklin, Charlotte Witter), Miles Morales, Silk, etc) were separate characters OR alternate universe versions of an existing spider character (Peter Porker the Spectacular Spider Ham, et al)

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - VISUAL NOVELS ALLOWED

i think I had Curse of Monkey Island and didn't get into it. -
I'm not necessarily representative of the moderator team, but if we were to start moderating meaningless (or at least highly subjective) terms, I'd vote for "immersive" before "cheese" That said, neither term or their (mis)use is the point of this thread. Tastes differ on what fun is; one person's fun is another's cheese.

The "Call of Cthulhu" game shown at E3 is from Cyanide.

I've not read it, but I've seen it suggested to people wanting to set up their own darkroom: https://www.amazon.com/New-Darkroom-Handbook-Joe-DeMaio/dp/0240802608/ I'm pretty sure it has options for darkrooms in apartments, so I don't think you need a lot of real estate for a darkroom. Its been 30+ years but I seem to recall my old college's darkroom being about the size of a largish closet.

The Weird, Random or Interesting Things That Fit Nowhere Else Thread
Amentep replied to Blarghagh's topic in Way Off-Topic
Sadly this story has been building for months. I'm finally glad that Lee might get some impartial help out of it as it seemed he was being bounced around some bad actors. Allegedly, this final straw was when Morgan called the police on the police who went in with a social worker to talk to Lee because they gave orders to Lee's security (hired by Morgan) to keep Morgan out as they didn't want to have any outside influence on the interview. Morgan got the police there saying that armed robbers had locked everyone in the house out and was alone with Lee. Then the next day when the security guards refused to sign an NDA, Morgan fired them. When they asked for their Final paycheck before they left, Morgan called the police and said armed men had threatened him and Lee. -
This good fellow talks sense. He's also is a moderator telling everyone to knock off the attempts to psychoanalyze each others posts. You want to make an argument, make it about the issues and arguments of another poster not the poster themselves, the poster's reasons for posting, the poster's childhood trauma that clearly motivates them to post, etc.

New RPG with Take Two = 1st/3rd person or both?
Amentep replied to Skyleaf's topic in Obsidian General
Some 1st person games give me motion sickness as well. Sometimes I can improve this by slowing turn speeds and stuff down in options. But I tried to play one of the Far Crys and after about 10 minutes of driving I had to go lie down i felt so nauseous. -
New Fire Emblem.

I admit one of the things that dismayed me about PoE1 was having played through with a character to completion right after the game launched and then coming back to play both expansions after they were released and patched to find how different the character I'd created felt. Partially this is due to the fact that I restart a lot while trying to find a character I like; to pick up the game months down the line and have the character be changed because of various balance fixes was frustrating and indeed triggered me to restart the game multiple times again. I still haven't completed the White March material, as a result (and consequently, I probably won't play Deadfire until everything has been released for it).

What kind of games do you play the most?
Amentep replied to Katphood's topic in Computer and Console
I dunno, I like a bunch of different types of game styles. I'm not unwilling to try anything except MMO anything. -
Imo, yes. If you are selling any consumable item to the public, they you need a license and permit, full stop. Blanket policies exist precisely because everyone feels that they should be exempt wrt whatever they're individually doing. "Let the people figure out on their own that the meat is rancid!" I don't believe that you believe that. I kind of get Guard Dog's point - although I also get the public health point too. For example, lets say you know a great home-baker, keeps a clean house and kitchen and bakes everything very well. You buy all the ingredients for your favorite cake at a store, given them to the home-baker and they bake you a cake, which you pick up from their house. The guberment won't step in. But if you go into the house of the home-baker and they offer to sell you your favorite cake that they've baked, the guberment now says the home-baker must have a license to sell that piece of cake to the public, they can't cook it in their own kitchen because their home kitchen as it is doesn't meet the specifications for restaurant kitchens in the legal code, etc. But, to Guard Dog's point, the difference isn't in the baking, or in the cake, the difference is that money is changing hands between you and a private party and the government wants a part of that exchange or, arguably, restaurant and grocery stores don't want competition that doesn't have the same overhead that they do to operate so force the government to intervene by claiming unfair competition from an improperly licensed competitor.

I enjoyed all three, but the weak spot was the second one, IMO. It has its moments, but I think the story was half-baked.
