  1. This. This is exactly the kind of derp that makes me cut bait with you. I challenge a random, somehow uncounted (?), statistic and the clown car pulls up and disgorges this. I never even addressed the claims that were actually filed!. I honestly cant fathom how you operate in rl conversations. I'm not sure the statistic is "uncounted" in the sense that you mean. My understanding of numbers like this is that they compare reported incidents with surveys of people who in the surveys claim some form of sexual abuse or assault. So take a survey with a bunch of questions, normed to try and prevent bias and error, understand the margin of error on the surveys and then use the surveys to extrapolate to the entire population the expected population who have experienced sexual assault or abuse. This, minus reported cases, would give an expected unreported population to experience sexual abuse/assault. So its not entirely pulling a random number out of a hat and one can always debate the methodology of data gathering and whether it shows what the researchers thinks it shows, bias in questions, etc., etc. But its not just a gut feeling number, at least the studies that are looking at "unreported" parts of the population I've looked into have done this. I can't speak to these specific numbers presented in this thread as I haven't tried to dig into their methodology. Its totally anecdotal evidence, so worthless as representative of the population, but everyone I've known who claimed some form of sexual abuse in their life never reported it to an authority figure. The one person I knew whose family found out actually got blamed for their own rape by their family. But again as a non-random sample, it can't be applied to the population as a whole, so it can't be made statistically relevant in this context.
  2. I would suggest that everyone who has posted in this thread prior to this avail themselves of the forum rules before posting again. Particularly the part that reads "We ask that the users of this board treat one another with respect, even when opinions differ. In addition, Obsidian does not tolerate disrespectful and/or slanderous posts about its competitors, developers and publishers. 3. This forum has a spoiler warning in its title, therefore all threads in this forum can and will have spoilers in them. In many cases its is difficult to discuss mechanics and strategies without being spoilerific, and therefore spoilers should be expected in these threads. If there is a spoiler in a non-spoiler forum, then please report the post rather than try to attack other posters for posting the spoiler.
  4. Please report bugs in the bug forum for Obsidian to address. Posting about bugs here will not fix anything. 5. You may be right. All I was saying is that I see this as a complaint thread, not a mechanics thread (ie the OP wants to vent their frustration more than anything else). I could be wrong, hence why I'd rather wait for the OP to clarify.
  6. The OP doesn't seem to be wanting suggestions for how to make a better GH-Ranger / Chanter? If OP wants suggestions and a move is warrented, I'll do it, but that doesn't seem to me to be what this thread is about.

  9. That's twenty in Roman Numerals. Thread thirty is going to be a hoot. Gromnir had the last post - it isn't difficult for Gromnir to add to the list o' Obama executive orders which offend beyond immigration and minimum wage, but such stuff is in our wheelhouse as it were. expansion o' domestic surveillance by means o' order were a particular troublesome example, but is hardly solitary. can laundry list stuff if need be. *shrug* in any event, am thinking it is a common mistake to get over invested in the executive orders while ignoring regulations and, to a lesser degree, memorandum and proclamations. am gonna suggest Obama did more to intrude on legislative domain than any executive since LBJ, and he were bold and unapologetic 'bout it. his comments were deserved criticized. https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/executive-action/ whether you like universal health care, increased minimum wages, changes to immigration, net neutrality along with some o' the more sinister stuff Obama tired to slip past Congress (and were often failing to do so-- no other recent President, regardless o' party affiliation, has had such a dismal record when facing SCOTUS review) the chief executive's role is not to legislate... and were not just executive orders which Obama were using to transform the Presidency. when Schumer and Pelosi were cheering on Obama as he found ways to marginalize obstructionist (*snort*) republicans, Mitch McConnell (and Gromnir) were warning o' the eventual day o' reckoning. took little imagination to foresee what would happen when a republican President were sitting in the oval office and had access to a pen and a phone. thank goodness for the relative impotence o' the current chief executive and the common sense o' a few republicans. more than once during the recent Prez elections we opined how trump would have much difficulty advancing his policy agenda. much stuff promised by trump, such as a muslim ban, were patent Unconstitutional, and most other stuff were requiring legislative action. seeing as how trump were not a consensus builder, we predicted a certain 'mount o' Presidential impotence... and thank goodness we were right. a more skilled chief executive with advantages o' a majority in both houses woulda' been punishing democrats for the excesses o' Obama. is also a relief republican leadership has chosen to put a stop to some o' the madness o' the previous administration. trump failure to overcome filibuster has not been met by Congressional effort to change rules such as happened when Obama appointees were being routine held-up. regardless, numbers of executive orders is extreme misleading even if many conservatives reflexive complain 'bout numbers. too many conservatives nowadays is only capable o' parroting what they see on fox news or read in a trump tweet... and we all know just how accurate such sources is. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/fact-checker/wp/2018/08/01/president-trump-has-made-4229-false-or-misleading-claims-in-558-days/?utm_term=.7408a268d4c7 two quick asides: 1) Obama, a Con Law prof complaints o' gridlock bothered us a bit https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/102573-politics-thread-ka-tet-of-19/?p=2076988 he knew better. 2) Obama didn't wake up on the first day o' his Presidency and single-handed transform the office 'cause Congressional indolence in recent decades made it increasing necessary for chief executives to do what Congress were failing to do. HA! Good Fun! And since we were talking US Political Parties in the last few threads, I'll add the thoughts of one George Washington from 1796 - "However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."

  11. ReAnimator perhaps? Though what do you mean by 'cheesy' exactly? Not really sure I'd class ReAnimator as cheesy, but I guess that's the problem with the term, it could mean an awful lot. I think of Ed Wood films, for example.
  12. Important Files: If the files are too large to attach separately, compile them all in a .zip and make a link to Dropbox with the .zip or email us at bugs@obsidian.net Attach files that will help the dev team figure out and resolve the issue. These include:

  14. Is this really a thing?
  15. I vaguely regret selling Golden Axe: The Duel. But that's just because I'm a freaking completest sometimes and not because its a good game. For the most part I kept what I wanted to keep and got rid of the stuff I didn't. I can't recall anything (beyond GA:TD) that I've felt even vague regret over selling at this point so I've probably forgotten them...but out of sight, out of mind. Unless someone reminds me I had it, I probably won't even think about it ever again at this point. The only system I sold was an original GameBoy Advanced in favor of a GB Advanced SP so that I could play without having to put a damn lamp in my face to see the screen. Stupid GBA lighting... (grumble, grumble)
  16. If social media existed at the time, Proust's fans would probably complain through social media that he died before he completed his revision of the last three volumes of IN SEARCH OF LOST TIME and instead his brother had to complete them... Then again, you're right that serialized authors would probably be bemused by the situation with Martin since they had to maintain steady (and in the case of the pulp authors, prodigious) amount of output to maintain their livelihoods.
  17. Like Kanisatha, I don't recall any talk of an expansion for IWD2. It was originally supposed to be a short production, quick turnaround game designed to get some immediate cash in the face of Interplay's mounting financial problems (hence why it was originally going to be 2e and use kits to build off all the stuff already created for the Infinity Engine to that point). I imagine (but could be wrong) that expansions to IWD2 weren't seriously considered in favor of trying to get BG: The Dark Hound completed, as the full BG game would have (theoretically) benefited Interplay more than expansions to IWD2. From what I recall the last projects BIS worked on went something like: IWD 2 (released Aug 2002) Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader (released Aug 2003; developed by Reflexive but I know some BIS employees worked on it) BG: Dark Alliance 2 (released Jan 2004; delayed from Oct 2003 release date due to disagreements with Vivendi that didn't get resolved until Nov 2003) Fallout 3 (cancelled Dec 2003) BG: The Dark Hound (cancelled Dec 2003) BG: Dark Alliance 3 (cancelled Dec 2003)
  18. Whose alt are you? We all alt down here. You'll alt too. RE: Friskies, was originally a Carnation company. Bought by Nestle, then moved the dog/cat food over to Purina when they bought/merged with them. Megaconglomerates FTW!
  19. I wouldn't be surprised if Dorn were in it since it could be the long rumoured (maybe pitched is more appropriate, since Dorn was pretty vocal about wanting it) Captain Worf series. That would also fit a hypothetical Admiral Picard role for Stewart where he could be as prominent or absent episode to episode as he wanted to be. An aging Picard is aided by Worf while both are on the run from a secretly Romulan run cabal in the Federation that is hunting down everyone who'd ever been on the Enterprise so they can harvest their DNA, make clones of them spliced with Khan's dna and create the ultimate battle starfleet. I doubt it'd do more than 13 episodes and more than likely be more like 6 or 7, I'd think.
