What's your favorite fantasy/si fi world?
NeverwinterKnight replied to Darth Reven's topic in Computer and Console
its a tie between star wars and d&d, but since im currently playing kotor2, i voted for star wars. -
you still should have been able to talk to lieutenant grenn about it. that should have been the conclusion of the quest since hes the one that gave it to you in the first place. it would have also proved that the hutt kept his word.

something tells me he didnt bother exhausting all dialogue options with kreia and instead decided to just butcher her. <_< youd be surprised how many people have these complaints/questions about what happens when all the problem was is they rushed through the game and didnt actually listen to/read the dialogue.

you may be correct about those two. youre right, ive never used either of them. when i say i didnt run in to any "bugs", im talking about those game stoppers that people are posting about in the tech forum, such as blackscreens or unable to load the game or freezing up, or even slowdowns in crowded areas. but as far as why im disagreeing with tyrell's post is concerned, as i stated, his "proof" isnt proof at all. his assumption that just because a game is equal in votes to its predecessor is a sign that it FAILED is flawed at the very least. my examples of how voting would go for fallout1 vs. fallout 2, or baldurs gate 1 vs. baldurs gate 2 are a perfect example of why tyrell's conclusion is flawed. unless, of course he wants to conclude that fallout 2 and baldurs gate 2 are an embarrassment and a failure as well.

i just read the brief write up for this game. anyone hear anything about it? the basics of the game actually sound kind of interesting. but i guess it depends how the rest is implemented. from rpgdot.com:

Question about Prestige class skill
NeverwinterKnight replied to Fearless_Jedi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
i always figured lightsabers were part of melee combat, but had its own "specialty", yet still fell under the melee category. -
Mandalorian Assault Armor
NeverwinterKnight replied to Bulgaroctonus's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
i believe ive come across all previous variations of mandalorian armor, plus a couple of new ones. -
i believe this is one of those broken or unfinishable quests. ive had it shown up in my "completed quests" log, even though i never talked to anyone on telos about it (no option to talk to lt. grenn).

Come alone to pick up weapons
NeverwinterKnight replied to ZX2Fast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
because it makes him realize that something he thought was a bug wasnt actually a bug? i havent looked through many threads in this forum, but i wonder how many are actual "bugs" and how many are just people not using their head. -
Come alone to pick up weapons
NeverwinterKnight replied to ZX2Fast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
this is a prime example of someone complaining about "bugs and unfinished quest" when the truth is youre supposed to just go into the party selection screen and de-select your party members. its not a "bug", its just common sense. it was the exact same way in kotor1 with the genoharden quest where you had to go alone. but instead of leaving them on the ebon hawk (ie. dont select any party members when you leave the ebon hawk), this time you just go into the party screen and de-select them. i wonder how many more of these "bugs" are actually just people not using common sense. <_< -
The Force? Fact or Fiction
NeverwinterKnight replied to Fires_of_DeathF's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
hmm i wonder if i have any legal grounds to demand a day off work with pay for these religious holidays. -
How do you finish the Redemption mission?
NeverwinterKnight replied to Masterdroid's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Yes, that quest cannot be completed. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> or if it can, i havent found a way to do so. -
questions from a small island
NeverwinterKnight replied to GarethCarrots's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
you seem to be doing exactly what im doing. assuming. except you assume these issues wont be fixed. and like i said, some people havent had problems so if youve been looking forward to this game for a year, that should be enough to atleast take a chance on it. -
you can still feel the pain through the force bond, but that doesnt mean you die because of it.

questions from a small island
NeverwinterKnight replied to GarethCarrots's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
its not much difference than in kotor1. yet everyone seems to overlook that aspect. this guy, im assuming, is talking about the pc and international xbox release, which are said to be worked on to fix many issues plaguing this one, so any advice about how bad the us xbox version is not valid for his inquiry. -
The bugs and glitches alone make it suck. You can't ignore them. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> a)as ive stated in other threads, i never experienced any bugs or glitches. the only thing i encountered where things that were removed from the game, such as the , so why i would add that as a negative to my gaming experience is beyond me and b)my comment is about how tyrell insists that just because votes are close that indicates tsl is a disappointment. as with fallout, if there was a poll and most people chose fallout 1, does that automatically mean fallout 2 sucked? because thats the assumption tyrell is using as "proof".
-
I'm with Tyrell one this one. Despite TSL being a fairly decent game (bugs aside), as a sequel to a game which won 126 Game of the Year awards, it was a major letdown. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> but thats not what he says. he says obsidian should be embarrassed. that would imply that the game was a complete flop and thats just not a valid comment. as i said, not surpassing a predecessor doesnt automatically mean that, in of itself, it was a bad game. just look at the fallout and baldurs gate series that i mentioned, and which tyrell ignored.
-
Just because it isnt better than kotor doesnt automatically mean it sucked, which is what your post implied (otherwise, why should obsidian be embarrassed). even if kotor is better, that still doesnt imply tsl sucked. there is such a thing as being a good game without actually surpassing the previous installment. its not quite as cut and dried as you make it out to be, where either it surpasses the first game or it was a complete bust.

just you. yoda is the only one of that series that saddened me when he died. btw, whats with the spoiler tags in a spoiler forum? i figured the whole point of this forum is for spoilers and if anyone stumbled across something they didnt want to know about they should have avoided this forum or entered at their own risk. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> *species :">

questions from a small island
NeverwinterKnight replied to GarethCarrots's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
To pay $50 for a console game this buggy is daylight robbery. <_< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> depends on if he gets the buggy version. i had no bugs to speak of (other than the removed quests) so the rest is just a matter of opinion about story and whatnot. and if hes been looking forward to it this long, why not. -
i need to find me a good pw game. but im a n00b so ill probably be booted off before i get the hang of it.
