  1. but you dont have to fighting the jedi masters if you are a lightsider (ie. true jedi). they dont "hunt" you and dont want you actually dead. but on the other hand, there is no possible way for you to play the game where sion and nihilus arent after you and have to fight them eventually.
  2. in reality, were you ever really a sith? dark jedi, yes. but when i think of "sith", i think of being able to play as "the bad guys", but even in kotor2 you never got to side with the bad guys. all that happened was that both sides wanted you dead instead of just the sith lords.
  3. i still think thats how the conclusion to kotor2 (whether they call it kotor3, or kotor2: expansion is not important to me) should be. I don't want them to spend a year or 2 implementing new features or upgrading the graphics. I want similar game play (but more difficult combat and smarter enemies) and a story that will wrap up the revan/exile saga. THEN they can move on to their new, 2 or whatever years development of a new game.
  4. not sure, i myself havent found it in 2 and a half play throughs. stupid random loot. <_<
  5. 1)you posted some spoilers. it would be better to post this in the spoiler forum 2)until my current reply, you have been talking to yourself.
  6. was it a cliffhanger ending that sets up a possible re 5? "
  7. if the game relies on twitch gaming, then i prefer a joystick/controller. thats why i prefer playing my sports and action games on my xbox. but rpgs i like better on the computer. i just cant "twitch" fast enough on the keyboard. i end up in a panic and start pounding the wrong key.
  8. one of the devs stated that malak's armor is indeed in the game.
  9. exactly. as much as i tend to defend the game (more like debate against those who make invalid points in attacking the game. not that im saying the person i quoted does that...but enough rambling in my brackets afterthought...), i felt the ending was unsatisfying and a little unreal (in terms of how we know the force to work). theres no way kreia would know what happens to your companions because, like yoda told luke when luke asked him about the future and the ability to see the future, he said something about the future being difficult to see, always changing. in other words, i dont care who you are or how powerful a jedi/sith you are, you cant tell the future. hell, the only reason why the emperor could predict the future (to a degree) was because he was continually manipulating events in order to achieve that future. i cant see kreia doing that since she ends up dead.
  10. 1. No 2. $5, much like bioware is charging for their new modules (make it a patch for pc, since xbox live will never happen and a whole new release of disks is unlikely) 3. fix all bugs and glitches, fix spelling and grammar, remove dialogue once youve already used it (cant tell you have frustrating it was trying to remember which dialogue options i had already tried each time i talked to a npc party member), bring back npc party member sidequests.
  11. I believe you just get experience points, and the guy who gave you the quest puts in a good word for you with mandalore (although its not needed since theres enough other stuff you can do to "prove" yourself to him).
  12. is the star wars rpg too much of a niche market? the reason i ask is because they only work on one rpg game at a time, rather than working on, like suggested, a conclusion to the kotor revan/exile saga AND work on a different sw rpg in a different setting allowing non-force user pcs. i realize this is a common practice to only release one "type" of game at a time, but if the star wars rpg has become this popular, then why not hire more than one developer to work on these games? (this is just an example, so insert any 2 developers if you wish) for example, have obsidian finish up the kotor3 revan/exile saga, while at the same time have troika or bioware work on the new sw rpg title. i mean look at ea sports and football or basketball. in one season and approximately around the same time, they have both college and professional games released. but perhaps the star wars rpg market isnt big enough to warrant this?
  13. i guess he was really trying to prove himself to me. he ran straight at the thing even before me and my party had a chance to do anything. the zakkeg focussed all its attacks on him and he was dead by the time we got the zakkeg down to half health. what a dork. i should have just killed him myself outside the mandalorian camp. :D
  14. on one hand its good that obsidian gets a "successful" title under their belt. on the other hand, lucasarts has proof that zero customer support, zero customer relations, and rushing a title out of the door early will still equal big time sales. so like you said, it gives lucasarts even more of an excuse to just half-ass their business approach since they seem to gross quite well even with the piss poor job by lucasarts.
  15. it would be interesting (albeit probably not in the ruleset) where if you didnt have master duel-saber (or whatever the two-weapon highest rank is), then you could use a double-bladed lightsaber, but ran the risk of injuring yourself just as much as injuring your opponent. just like a non-force user, as said in the movies, would have just as much chance injuring themself as their opponent, it would be...different....if they allowed a non-jedi to equip a lightsaber, but at the risk of actually damaging themself each time they swing (some kind of saving roll or something to determine whether they hit their opponent or themself). i know that probably goes against everything in the ruleset, but in theory it might make things more interesting and might cause people to think more whether they want to risk using a double bladed lightsaber on a character that isnt a "master" at duel-wielding.
  16. that was a good explanation. i was starting to see his point of view until i read this.
  17. you know what? im kinda hoping that kotor3 (or atleast the conclusion of this series) will be just an expansion pack, similar in the way that hotu is to nwn so that we can use these epic level characters to just finish off the story. i dont think there needs to be any improvements, gameplay-wise, except to iron out bugs and whatnot. instead, it should be soley focussed on closing the story of revan and the exile. and since thats all that needs to be done, an expansion rather than a full blown "sequel" is the way to go, imo. then they can move on once the story is finished and begin work on a brand new game.
  18. you could always look at it as a positive. anytime youre feeling down on yourself and feeling dumb, just visit that forum and realize there are a forum full of people who are dumber than youll ever be. :D
  19. ehem! someone has a name. "
  20. Didn't Resident Evil 4 get universally good reviews? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> you just had to get that in didnt you.
  21. Indeed, it really doesn't make any sense. Republic Commando comes out after this game, and they have movies, trailers, system info, and lots of other cool stuff on their LucasArts website. What does Kotor 2, sequel to game of the year get? One unsatisfying trailer, minimal character descriptions, and 2 feats that are exactly the same as in the first game, among other poor things. I mean, it's one thing to say that they don't care what we think of the game, and they just want us to buy it so they can make money. But you'd think they would have a better marketing campaign to get us to buy it in the first place. Something is up <{POST_SNAPBACK}> im very surprised about this as well. but i think lucasarts is approaching this the same way they approached marketing the xbox release. i never saw one single television commercial about it, so other than the fact ive followed its progress on the internet, i wouldnt have known about it. yet their other releases, like mercenaries, or battlefront, ive seen dozens of commercials for on television. lucasarts dropped the ball big time on kotor2, in terms of every single decision they made about the game. (note to those who will respond with "obsidian is as much to blame": im not saying theyre not, im just commenting on the piss poor marketing on lucasarts behalf)
  22. you went to kashyyk in your game? damn, i must have a faulty copy since that was never one of the planets i could travel to. "
  23. my thoughts exactly. had k2 not had anything to do with k1, or not left so many cliffhangers about the exile and revan, then i would have agreed with the final fantasy-like series, where the games dont necessarily follow up the previous ones story. but since they chose to make k2 a direct follow up, including some of the same characters and following the same events (roughly) and had it end in a "cliffhanger", i think their hands are tied in making sure k3 follows that same principle otherwise there will be more than a few pissed off fans (myself included) that we never really got closure after k2. agreed. but in my mind, the time period itself wouldnt be a bad idea to use, but just make it a good 100 or 200 or even 500 years after the events of the trilogy (assuming it is one, as noted by my above reasons). that way when that new series is made, there wont be a need to worry about the events of the kotor series or characters, except in passing reference, such as how kotor has handled various eu events without making them a central theme.
  24. you sure about that? the dialogue i got with her as a lightsider sure hinted at a LOT more than just jealousy. i think perhaps you didnt explore all the dialogue options, since a few of them clearly hint at some kind of "past" between the two (assuming exile is male).
  25. unfortunately, because of the decision to have kotor2 follow so closely to the story of kotor1 both in terms of story and time frame, i think the same needs to be done for kotor3, otherwise many people will be upset that they seemed to just leave the series up in the air. i would have agreed that a brand new story would have been best, but only if they had done so in kotor2. imo, kotor1 had wrapped up the revan story well enough that if he was never mentioned again, it wouldnt have been that big of a deal. but since thats my 2 cents.
