  1. mauls look isnt what a 'sith' looks like. maul was a zabrak and so too i believe is bao dur. so in answering your question, no just because he 'looks' like maul does not mean he has sith bloodlines.
  2. rogue. and wasnt that sort of what the exile was anyways? atleast in terms of choices and which path you could follow throughout the game. as many people have said, this is a star wars game. good and evil epitomizes what the whole ideal behind star wars is about. would being able to play as a 'grey' character be interesting? you bet. but it just doesnt fit the star wars mold and id rather it be kept that way. not sure about this part. i dont think the number of lines of dialogue determine quality of the game or story. its all about how well written and presented it is. as for the development cycle i dont think there should be a specific time frame. i think the time frame should reflect what needs to be done and how long that will take. saying that it should be 2-3 years doesnt necessarily fix anything. if a project only takes a year to make, then whats the point in having it lingering around unreleased for another year? at most, a couple of extra months of bug fixing and QA sessions, but thats about it. so therefore, it should take as long and as little to develop as the game requires. i have no clue what you even mean here since you didnt bother to actually give an explanation of what you view as 'different and unique'. many would argue it already is unique. again, this is rather subjective. the kotor series, for all intents and purposes, has been a 'defining game', atleast in terms of star wars games released.
  3. ive only played through one time so maybe i should hold back on this comment until ive had a chance to play again a couple of times, but... i dont know if i like how difficult it is to gain more than 1 or 2 of your partys full influence within one play through. in order to gain someones influence you have to have them in your party for a great deal of time. since you have 10 party members, its difficult to make sure all of them get ample 'playing time'. which means you either a)use 3 or 4 only to gain full influence with them or b)use all 10 evenly, gaining barely any influence with all of them. i know this was done for replayability, but since the extra dialogue and influence gained doesnt really have a big impact on the story (or does it?) i dont see myself playing through multiple times just so that i can learn all their backstories and/or get them all to change alignment. especially since the party members dont have any sidequests really specific to them like the party members did in kotor1.
  4. one thing i am not sure i was too fond of (havent played a second time yet, so this opinion might change) is the fact that its next to impossible to learn all your party members back story or gain all their dialogue options in one or two play throughs. in order to get enough influence with them it seems you have to basically alternate between 3 or 4 of them throughout the entire game. if you try to use all of them, then you run out of time before you get anywhere with any of them. at this point in time, i think i enjoyed the character interaction more in kotor1 since atleast by the end of the game you can gain all the sidequests of all party members. i know this was done for replay value, but since the dialogue options dont really impact the gameplay or story, i dont know if i want to play through 4 or 5 times just to get the backstory of all my companions.
  5. thats a bit of a disappointment. when i heard that wed be asked about revan i thought maybe it would have a significant impact on the story depending on what you answered. but if all it does is give a few extra dialogue options or adds a couple of brief cameos or holocron appearances by former party members, then it seems like it was a feature added just to placate those who wanted revan to return.
  6. i did a search and couldnt find this topic, so if there is one i apologize. my question is does the answers you give atton rand at the beginning have any significance to the story? the four different options you can answer (through 2 strings of dialogue) are: revan was 1)ds male 2)ds female 3)ls male 4)ls female. has anyone played through all four variations to see whether revans gender actually makes a difference (other than people referring to revan as 'he' or 'she') and whether revans alignment makes any difference (other than dialogue discussing whether revan saved/turned on the republic)? in other words, are the play throughs much different because of these questions at the beginning? or, like kotor 1, the only difference in play through is your actions in the current game, rather than the answers to attons questions having an impact?
  7. based on the comparisons you chose, im thinking im going to enjoy this game thoroughly.
  8. not long after dealing ace tim hudson to the braves, billy beane deals mark mulder to the cards for prospects. i dont know much about the prospects, but why in all that is good and sacred is beane dismantling that young, stud pitching staff??
  9. not all gamers are saying its a bad game. and as for the discrepancies thats due to personal taste.
  10. i must admit that it gets a bit confusing in terms of remembering which threads ive viewed and which i havent. some threads are dead but if one person votes in it then it gets bumped back to life.
