  1. i voted onderon, but nar shadaa was a close second. i thought both those planets were new and fresh and had the most to do. telos wasn't bad and probably ranks third on my list. i disliked korriban. it was basically a rehash of the previous game, without the actual quests in to the tombs and the landing area. it was boring, even though you get to "revisit" your past and see malak with his jaw still intact and face "revan". the sith academy part was for the most part just boring. i liked dantooine better in kotor1. the mercenaries were cool, but the rest was rather boring. peragus was dull. i think it was due to barely any npc interaction available, except for the holo vids (which were cool). it seemed to just drag on and on for too long. malachor v was much like the star forge in that it felt like a big jumbled combat mess. while it was fun fighting the sith lords and marauders and whatnot, the "story" had been told and there werent any real quests left, which is what i play these games for. for simple combat it was good, but for advancing the story through quests and interaction, it was boring. all in all, i think the game felt smaller to me because they reused 2 planets, both of which were smaller (or seemed smaller and less things to do) than in kotor1, and the first "planet" was like a drawn out tutorial. basically the only planets i truly enjoyed were onderon/dxun, nar shadaa, and telos. so apart from those three, the planets were either disappointing or just boring.
  2. thats how i felt. no offense tyrell, but it seemed more like a post by a "pissed off gamer", than a professional reviewer who objectively looks at the pros and cons of the game. plus as old school wheelman pointed out, its a bit unfair to include obsidian in the blame for poor or nonexistant marketing when its not their responsibility to do so.
  3. if kotor3 runs as smoothly as kotor2 did for me? yes, in a heartbeat. if kotor3 runs as poorly as those in the self-help forum? no, of course not. personally, im waiting to see how the pc version pans out before condemning obsidian. i know that buggy console titles are a no-no, but at the same time im willing to chalk that one up to lucasarts wanting their precious us xbox release in time for christmas. if all (or most) of these bug and glitch issues are resolved in the pc or int. xbox release, then thats a good indication that obsidian can do the job as long as the development time isnt rushed. however, if the same problems exist and/or arent patched promptly (within a week of pc release), then i will have to re-evaluate my opinion. i had a fun experience. was it as good as kotor1 for me? i dont think it was. for whatever reason (maybe not enough fleshing out time) i felt more attached to the characters more in kotor1 (for the most part. i still enjoyed atton and mira). but it was still a good sequel in my opinion, so bugs and glitches aside, id definitely buy kotor3.
  4. which is exactly why the need to close the revan/exile saga with an expansion. with each new game, if they keep implementing a new pc, the characters, not to mention the story (just how can 3 or more uber jedi be linked together, yet only appear after the previous one disappeared), will become ridiculous. finish the revan/exile saga, then move on to a brand new, fresh story.
  5. talk about over simplifying things.
  6. no offense, but a few too many spelling errors (or whatever the term is for using the wrong word). i also disagree with you saying the story doesnt make sense if you play lightside. other than that, i suppose it was a decent review, although many of the issues you had with the game werent evident in my game. but thats your perogative since it is, afterall, your review. *shrugs* but do i agree with your review? id say im about 40 to 50% in agreement with you, but disagree with some of your issues.
  7. havent figured this one out myself, but i believe it has to do with putting jama juice in the dish to put the hounds to sleep. not sure how to do it though. youll find out later never been able to complete this one either. huh? id like to know that as well. seems like a broken or uncomplete cutscene to me.
  8. a great year ahead of us? most, if not all, those games you listed have already been released. shouldnt that be a great year behind us?
  9. that was a pretty lame conversation. its the exact same with handmaiden saying disciple's lines. at the very least atton should have made a sarcastic remark in return. as it is, the cutscene made it seem as if atton was not being sarcastic.
  10. is there an option to shoot the whiny girl?
  11. were the in-game graphics good? the stuff they show in the tv commercials look like cutscene-type video, so im curious about how good the actual gameplay graphics are.
  12. after reading this thread i decided to reinstall baldurs gate and attempt another play through. yet again i cant seem to get in to it. fallout, on the other hand, hooked me within the first few minutes of play. *shrugs* i guess the baldurs gate series just isnt my "thing".
  13. the bolded part is the biggest issue i have with anderson. he tends to go way overboard when writing about something, almost as a way to try and use a smoke screen to hide his shortcomings as a writer. he needs the unbelievable and the outlandish, otherwise hes nothing but an average or slightly better than average writer. guys like zahn dont need that kind of thing to tell a good story.
  14. it was.....until the game got released and all the kiddies from the lucasarts forums started drifting in.
  15. do you think its a possibility that there were supposed to be cutscenes while kreia spoke, but were taken out or not including due to time constraints *cough*lucasartsbrilliantchristmasreleasescam*cough*? a few times there seemed to be "pauses" between her talking and you being allowed to pick a new dialogue option where it could have been where a cutscene should have been. maybe, hopefully, possibly could this be including in a more polished, more "ready" pc version?
  16. weird. always showed up for me. *shrugs* i believe its triggered after .
  17. i have no clue which cutscene youre talking about. if you could pm me (to avoid spoilers) and either describe it or give me the gist of it because i dont think ive ever experienced it.
  18. theyve already done away with that by adding the prestige classes in kotor2 did they not? so i dont see how doing something similar to hotu, where the pc can go from around 20 to 27 levels to gaining maybe another 3 or so levels throughout, would unbalance the game any more, or alter the rules any more than they already have.
  19. if its an expansion pack like hotu it would work.
  20. I picked eating over sleeping. My game count says 18 but I have only beat it all the way through 9 times... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> im still trying to compute how thats possible. the earliest you could have possibly bought the game was, what, december 6th or 7th? the game itself takes about 35-40 hours if you dont rush. and considering youre either in school or have a job (both of which will account for 6 to 8 hours out of your weekday), that doesnt leave much time within a months time to allow for 9 complete, and 18 total play throughs.
  21. a lot of people feel that hotu is a much better game than nwn's oc. thats what i think of when i think of expansion packs.
  22. i prefer to think of myself as kotornese.
  23. 9!?!??! Do you sleep or eat?
