Resident Evil 4 review from IGN online
NeverwinterKnight replied to kumquatq3's topic in Computer and Console
im starting to wish i had a gamecube. ok maybe not. -
just you. yoda is the only one of that series that saddened me when he died. btw, whats with the spoiler tags in a spoiler forum? i figured the whole point of this forum is for spoilers and if anyone stumbled across something they didnt want to know about they should have avoided this forum or entered at their own risk.

questions from a small island
NeverwinterKnight replied to GarethCarrots's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
best advice i can give: if youve been anticipating it this long, then spend the money on it when it comes out. worst case scenario? youre disappointed and you waste $50. so unless youre hard up for money, i dont think taking a chance on a game youve been looking forward to for a year is going to be a big gamble. -
Poor thing *pats* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hahaha i found that hilarious. yet sad.

Darth Malak's Armor?
NeverwinterKnight replied to Meshugger's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
why do most of the armor look bad on the characters? most of the time i dont even use armor, even if it increases stats, just because of how it looks. the robes look great. the armor, like the first game, look blah. the only armor that looks good are the mandalorian armor. -
ive seen much worse stories that are "hailed by fans" as masterpieces. i think the major difference is the fact people are jaded by the amount of bugs and broken quests/dialogue so they find every fault with the story, even some that arent there. ive been guilty of doing this on occassion when the bugs and slowdowns ruin my gaming experience. but overall, if you eliminate the technical issues and the removed or broken quests, i dont think the story would get as much critisism as it is getting now. guilt by association, so to speak.
-
the story isnt as bad as you make it out to be. dont confuse technical issues and broken quests with a "bad story". im sure they hurt the story a bit, but that doesnt in itself make it a bad story.

Huh? Most people I've heard are saying what a disappointment Halo 2 is. Probably not a very good example. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> exactly. how about a poll of fallout 1 and fallout 2? I bet you the votes would be very similar to this one, where fallout 1 would have equal, or more votes, but that doesnt mean fo2 was a bad sequel. same with the baldurs gate series. im sure the voting would be close between the two. same with the iwd series. i think youre comparing apples and oranges. it seems rpgs tend to be "similar" to their predecessor and it becomes a matter of opinion based on the minor changes to story or whatever. whereas fps and clickfest games tend to have to out do their predecessor to be successful. still a silly example if you ask me, since all it proves is that, judging from the poll, tsl is just as good as kotor.

Did they cut out a part of Atris' Academy?
NeverwinterKnight replied to tennisibguy's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
yet another side effect of a rushed release. thanks a lot lucasarts. <_< -
not that i necessarily disagree that kotor is better than tsl, but how exactly is anything you posted "proof" that tsl isnt a good sequel? since when does it being equal (in terms of total votes) imply "bad sequel"?

Darth Malak's Armor?
NeverwinterKnight replied to Meshugger's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
never come across this armor in my games. -
uhh? the poll is missing the option i need. 40-50 hours.
-
it seemed to be one of the many "not-quite-complete" features in the game.
-
this game actually looks interesting. at first i thought it was going to be star wars based, since all the other titles currently being advertised on the lucasarts site are star wars. but i guess not. either way, i might pick it up if the early reviews are good.

How you like my Revan pic?
NeverwinterKnight replied to Fires_of_DeathF's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
arent those screenshots just taken from the mods done by guys/gals at holowan labs? -
he had specific guidelines about what he could write about. have you read the little interviews and round sessions between the authors in the njo series and lucasbooks publishing? they told the authors what to write about and gave them instructions what not to use. like i said, anderson needs over-the-top powers or abilities in order to mask the fact that his actual story telling is mediocre at best.

Baldur's Gate vs. Fallout
NeverwinterKnight replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Computer and Console
imo, fallout gave you much more replay value. it could be just me, but bg didnt really allow for different plays since it seemed to be the basic same story and quests each time. of course i only played it once so dont mind me for those who worship bg. -
no "author" came up with the yuuzhan vong. whoever is in charge with publishing from lucasbooks did. but anderson is the one that came up with the ridiculous power that exar kun had (yeah, lets make him 100 times as powerful as Vader and the Emperor) and the sun crusher (again, lets make a vehicle that is the size of a a-wing but more powerful than anything ever created).

Depends how you answer the question to Capt whats his name. First time through I said they were on the planet surface and then I in fact met them there. Rest of the times I just lied and said I had killed them and got the reward...they dont appear after that if you do it that way. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> what the crap? i've done both of these things during each play through (depending on lightside/darkside) and neither time did i see them.

i take it you prefer submissive women then?
