its a bit of a stretch, so cut me some slack for this example, but... you could make an argument that using party members to open security locked doors, or disarm mines is just as "cheap" as using them to upgrade items on the workbench or labstation. why? because if you specialize party members in security or demolitions, that means your pc doesnt have to specialize and you can spend your own points somewhere else. how is that any different than the workbench? both are instances of using your party members as an "out" so that your pc doesnt have to spend skill points in those skills.

Different Workbench Glitch
NeverwinterKnight replied to pskought's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
i used them for missions, but my point was that it was an added area of the game where certain party members were actually useful and worth bringing along. to be honest, i rarely upgraded anything on the workbench. the only thing i did was use it to break down items i never used to create extra medpacs. keep in mind im not actually against it working how it was intended and i wouldnt start crying and moaning if obsidian fixed it for the pc version. but im just saying that my reasons for liking how the "bugged" version was working had more to do with party member useage and less to do with powergaming. -
that would be a wrong assumption, atleast where im concerned. like i stated in that thread, i like how the "bugged" version works because it allows me to use npc party members who i would usually not bother with. has nothing to do with powergaming or getting all the upgraded loot i can get. exactly. it makes the entire party useful rather than just leaving a couple party members on the ebon hawk the entire game.

you were told thats where all the trouble started (or were hinted at). and you wanted to go face this darkside energy at its source. thats why you went to malachor v. i cant remember exactly the dialogue, but you were told why you were going to malachor v. -
Different Workbench Glitch
NeverwinterKnight replied to pskought's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
not really. it had more to do with wanting to use the characters in my party more often that, otherwise, would have just sat on the ebon hawk. i rarely ever used bao-dur or t3 off the ebon hawk, but because their skill came in handy, i actually brought them along on a couple of missions. -
i think this was more for gamers who just want to see their characters all become jedi. personally, i would have preferred if maybe there was one character you could turn in to a jedi, and only at a great expense of time and effort. as it was, it wasnt even difficult to turn them into jedi.

1-the backstory of many of the npcs that i could get nowhere near enough influence to learn in 2 play throughs. not really a "flaw", since thats how it was supposed to work. but still something that makes me shake my head since it seemed like more a chore to learn the entire story than fun or replayability. 2-the ending. it was just a bit....blah. 3-goto. i had no choice but to allow the thing to join my party and stay on my ship even though i didnt even care for him/it. -

weird. i actually like the "bugged" version. it made having certain party members around useful to use their skills to create/upgrade items. i think id rather both workbenches/labstations be bugged than work how they were intended. -
resident evil...isnt that the game you dress your character up in different outfits and try to hook them up with the next door neighbor? "

Anyone having xbox problems?
NeverwinterKnight replied to Darth Cloud's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion

Suggestions for KotOR III

to do what youre asking would also require massive changes to the current structure of kotor as well. its no different, since youre asking for something that wasnt meant to be a part of the current kotor series. -

that rolling the eyes smiley just doesnt look...right to me. when i roll my eyes, i dont have a big grin on my face doing it. -
Games are a very different thing from movies. Besides, Revan's story was completed. I can't see how Obsidian would be able to make up a new story using the same character. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> then it shouldnt have been called kotor2. it should have simply been kotor: the sith lords. adding the "2" to the title infers its a continuation of the kotor1 story.

Suggestions for KotOR III

drakron is just against anything kotor, even though he hasnt played tsl yet. thats not to say that his comments have no validity in them, but that any validity they have are merely "coincidence" since hes never actually played the game.
