Which game hook brought you to Project Eternity and interests you the most?
It's a hybrid between IWD, BG2 and PS:T. I loved the setting, the atmosphere the artwork and the music of PS:T. But probably the companions most of all. I loved the sheer scope and scale of BG2, the variety (real or perceived) of areas and archetypes that you ran into. I loved the set pieces, the encounter design and most of the things from PS:T sans the companions in IWD. Having to design your whole party felt a little "odd" at first, but it grows on you when you get used to it.

What are your favorite Romance options?
TSLRCM is great played through twice with it installed as a male brianna (handmaiden) and Visas are romanceable, as female atton and disciple are although the are undercurrents with bao dur. I just finished my first game yesterday. Damn you Mira, I'm not too old. I guess VIsas is my "second choice" after Mira, Handmaiden never really being my thing I'm not good at playing female characters. I tried it once and didn't "respond" to any of the romances. A flaw that is mine, not the game.

Bring in BioWare or Other Legendary Designers as Stretch Goal
I'm not opposed to the idea. I don't think the individual Bioware writers and designers have "lost their skill" over the years, but I do think that their corporate goals imposes limitations on what they are allowed to do, resulting in products that may be at odds with what people here would like to see. Would be interesting to see what they could come up with if "unshackled". I for one enjoyed both BG2 and BG1 (when I finally got around to play it years later). Edit: I thought of master Wade (the smith) in DA:O as a cry for help with his "they don't let me make any quality anymore" dialogues.

I think this project will clear 10 million without breaking a sweat.
Quoted for truth. I think they underestimated the initial response and got caught a bit with their pants down. They do need to get the marketing up and running and that pretty soon. Exactly. I've only followed a few Kickstarters, but they all followed a pattern of large initial burst followed by a long, almost "flatlined" curve with slow but steady trickle of pledges followed by the last 24 hour burst which was even larger than the initial burst. 3-5 million would be nice, but I think the cautious optimists hope for 3, yet prepare for less.

ideas, suggestions and getting us off the bench
At the risk of sounding like a false dichotomy, isn't the number of companions a choice between quantity and quality, especially on a tight budget? PS:T had 7 companions of which you could have 5 in your party. I sure enjoyed their company a lot more than the 16 or so I had to chose from in BG1 (which I considered expendable because they were relatively "shallow"). As for races, I don't mind if something like Dwarves exists (not just to escape Volourns wrath), as long as elves are truly extinct and relegated to myth and pictures in lore books. Of course, they could chose to make dwarves short, burly, yet effeminate (think 16th centuries noblemen with lace and everything) magic users. Now that would upset a few.

Include text field to enter in own questions for NPCs.
I was just about to mention Fallout damn you It was put to use exactly once if I remember correctly ("red ryder" or some such).

Metaphysics and All its Fabulously Gnarly Implications
Hmm, can it be ripped out, stored, stolen, bargained, like "I would sell my soul for..."? If so, what's the market value of a soul, does it have mass (28 gram)? If it can be damaged or injured, are there healing that targets the soul rather than the body? If not, is it transdimensional/planar thing? Lots of questions that hopefully gets elaborated on as the work progresses and hopefully some lore will get shared before too long. Speculating is fun though.

What are you playing now?
Hmm, good thing I finished my play through of Kotor2 before I reformatted and reinstalled Windows. Steam backup wasn't quite what I thought it would be. Despite copying 150gb of game files, only 7 games or so actually got backed up, the rest it still wants to (re)download from Steam. Ah well, getting FO:NV back and running is a priority. Still haven't finished the main quest, nor the last (Lonesome Road?) DLC. But since I usually play games in between FO:NV sessions, I might as well get started on some of those GOG games in my untouched pile.

Changing Profile Name
Actually, global mods don't have that capability either. Might to try Fionavar or Guildmaster.

The Kickstarter Thread
Well, I've only supported 3 so far... Wasteland 2, Conquistador and Project Eternity. I thought about Shadowrun, but it wasn't something I was familiar with or could relate to.

Player Housing
Looks like "player home" came up as a stretch goal.

Randomness
Heh, reminds me of Kotor2. I always wondered what the automated gun turret I just killed was using those jedi gloves of wisdom for. I do like the idea of being able scrounge a dew pennies and maybe a (second hand) item or two off my now defeated opponent.

[Merged] DRM Discussion Thread
I've got large game libraries from both and they each have their strengths and weaknesses. Still, voted on GOG just for good measure.

Dwarves
How did it go with that NWN mod of yours btw, did it ever get finished?
-
The Kickstarter Thread
They met their target in the first 24 hours. They better get that marketing machine up and running and start letting bits and pieces, details, concept art etc. trickle through, not to mention a lot of stretch goals to keep the pledging up even if it's only going to be a fraction of the initial pledging for that long stretch between the start and the end.
- Good old Games

Stronghold/PC base
I loved the keep and the little events around managing it in NWN2. Voted stretch goal.

Funcroc is alive! You had us worried there for a while mate

Party Size
I voted 6, but that is just some Icewind Dale nostalgia. It is really going to depend on your "recruitment pool" as to what is the sweet spot party wise.

(1) This world wants to drag us down, it does.
I thought all this verbose stuff these last few days was just Obsidian lamenting that they've been going around in circles and it's time to try something new, like without a publisher to hold them back and screw them over with words in contracts.

The Kickstarter Thread
There is a gaming god Sword of Fargoal 2 Courtesy of Gamebanshee. One of my all time favourite 8 bit dungeon crawlers, next to Temple of Apshai. Numerous late nights and time that should have been spent studying was spent on exploring, fighting and dying.

Baldur's Gate 3?
Because they don't have the rights to do anything D&D, Forgotten Realms, Planescape or otherwise? Brian Fargo had already secured the rights to Wasteland before he started his Kickstarter project, so he wouldn't have to pay a truckload of money for permission to use it and relinquish artistic control of the project to outside interests.

Kotor II on steam version
Hmmm, backing up my Steam folder, but now I struggle to remember where my Kotor2 saves go. I wonder if the are in the Documents and Settings folder, Program Files (x86) etc. folder or my Steam folder?
