  1. *shrugs* It's only 118 yen old fruit. What does it really matter?
  2. So... sorry, something I've never been clear on: do druids stats all directly affect the animal form?
  3. Starcraft 2's last campaign also suffered from too many "arbitrary time limits". I wish they wouldn't resort to timers when they're trying to make something difficult. A game can be difficult without a timer.
  4. The timer is a bit harsh though. I played on rookie this morning, and you only get 8 turns for the first level. They're definitely not pulling their punches!
  5. Installed XCOM 2 and got 2 hours in this morning! Can't wait to get back after work and continue customizing my squad(^_^)
  6. I knew someone at university who had been born and raised as a member of the Church of Scotland (fairly austere protestant) and was an active worshiper who converted to being a fervent Roman Catholic in a few months. I know this is not the same thing as happens at the end of PoE but their (former) co-religionists thought it was huge. Haha, well. fair enough. There are of course lots of cases of people suddenly converting to a new religion. But I think those are mostly people who had doubts about their faith all along. I suppose I should say its almost impossible to change the beliefs of a fanatic. And in the olden days (or in a fantasy setting where you can speak to the Gods directly), there should be a lot more fanatics running around;)
  7. All the non-spell casting classes are pretty low maintenance. Especially fighter, paladin and tank monk (your meat shields) I'm not wild about auto-pilot, but why not have one wizard that you personally control, and make the rest fighter types to guard him?
  8. Hmmmm... I basically agree with you. Its almost impossible to change the beliefs of someone who has been raised with said beliefs. I think the problem is, at the end of the game, there's very little time to sit down with your party members and explore their feelings. The developers probably wanted to keep the fast pace near the end, so they push you onward to the final boss, instead of pausing for reflection. Likewise, I think your party members are just carried on by inertia. They've come this far with you, so they'll go a little further while they get digest their shock. Do some of them go into denial later? Probably.
  9. I fully agree with Boeroer. Yes, its your opinion, you don't need others approval, people shouldn't be so easily offended, you don't care blah blah blah. But if you just slightly change the way you type / say something, you can avoid an argument / flame war and by extension, make another person's day just a little more pleasant. And long term, the forum becomes a nicer place. Same goes for real life. That's the info I was looking for! So, the solo run comes down to preparing for and doing those 2 major fights? I'm sure it requires strategy, but it also seems like a lot of trouble for just two fights, which is why solo runs are not my cup of tea:)
  10. Question for those who do solo runs: I started a solo run myself, but to be honest, I found it a little boring, because I was basically just sneaking around obstacles or resolving them peacefully. Are solo runs just basically about getting through the final dungeon and last boss? I mean, that's basically the only place in the whole game where you can't avoid combat, right? Oh, and maybe dear old Maerwald.
  11. I initially didn't like the idea of Steam either (in fact, I still don't), but once you try it, its surprisingly convenient. Just make sure you switch off the "automatically launch steam when windows starts" option. That's a little annoying. Don't be scared. Take the plunge.
  12. I lived in Japan for a time when I was in the military. In Okinawa to be exact. Beautiful place and really great people but there is just so many of them. Traffic is a nightmare. I didn't spend much time in mainland Japan but from what I did see (Tokyo mainly) was huge and ultra modern. The vibe in Okinawa is a little different to the rest of the place. Feels a little more western (because of the military base's influence I suppose), which might be a good balance for some people. But in Tokyo, most people use public transport, so traffic wouldn't be an issue. Look me up if you're ever in town;) We could probably fill up another thread talking about the censorship issue so I won't get into it here;)
  13. I haven't played the new patch yet but I sort of agree with OP. Yes, survival needed to do something useful. But now we can get bonuses from food, inns, the stronghold and resting. Seems like a bit much. Which isn't a big deal in itself but... Remember the reason why spell casting is disabled outside of combat? Apparently so that the game wouldn't turn into a buff fest before combat. But now its starting to turn into a bonus fest.
  14. ... and the "why"?
  15. Well, I'm already an expat living in Japan. And that's working okay for me. But there are lots of other countries I'm interested in. Lately, I keep reading about how great the Scandinavian countries are (with their short workdays and high levels of happiness:). I'd love to confirm that with my own eyes.
  16. As I understand it, casting speed isn't related to the spell itself, but to the characters dexerity. I do find it frustrating though when I click on a spell, thinking the character will get right to it, but then the character has to wait for several seconds cooldown time to pass (which in the thick of battle is pretty relevant)
  17. Well... Pallegina makes an okay tank, but if you already have 2 front-liners then that's probably not necessary. So maybe Durance's cleric spells will serve you better? That being said, priests are a lot more high-maintenance than tanks. If you already have your hands full, then Pallegina might be the better bet after all.
  18. That pretty much sums it up. And since you have wizards for AoE, generally the rogue gets more love. Still, if you want a party that doesn't have to rest the whole time, the barb might be a better choice.
  19. Looks like some thoughtful improvements(^_^) Even down to the Dragon breath weapon thing. I always sent a single member or a summon in to take the brunt of that attack first. Will have to think of a new tactic now
  20. Ha! Remember the big uproar when PoE1 was being released, and people were complaining about the low level cap! But yeah, for each level they add, there's a huge amount of things they have to plan (spells, equip, traits etc.) so I don't think they'll raise the cap too much.
  21. I find it funny when people are playing PoTD and then complain about the difficultly. Isn't the whole point that it's a challenge? That being said, there is a difficultly spike there. And... looking at your screenshot, that is pretty insane. Have you tried debuffing them with spells? Or maybe its time to consider adding another character or 2 to your party. 3 is a small number to run with.
  22. Yeah, their paralyzing weapons are the pain, and their most powerful casters (I forget the name) also have Avatar and some decent spells. Still, what's the problem? They're just randoms wandering in the wilderness. They don't need to be especially strong.
  23. 1. If you want to go for pure DPS then might (for damage) + dexerity (for attack speed) + perception (for accuracy) is the most important. However, if you want him to be a little more durable, you can also add in more resolve and constitution. I don't think intelligence is a big deal for a fighter type, but it depends on what abilities you use. 2. Both those options are very viable. I personally prefer two handers since they have a bit more punch for getting through armour. 3. Like the stats, its a balance of att. vs. def. A pure DPS will go as light as possible. But if you want more durable, just move up the armour chain. 4. ... can't remember so well but... at the end of the day, the barb's specialty is dealing with groups of enemies (not 1.vs.1 duels) I personally would pick any abilities that complement his group damaging abilities.
  24. lol, I don't really understand all the hype/love for undertale. But who knows, maybe you can get a few hours of fun for your 10 bucks;)
  25. Does it mean they actually added the last dungeon? Actually... I'm not sure they have. The last update talks about a new hero class and the "cove" area. They don't seem to mention the last dungeon... In other words, they're calling it the "official release" but it still looks like there's content missing... Still, even as an early release, it was pretty playable. I'm looking forward to having another run with it.
