  1. There you go! You want creative bad-mouthing? Just take a look at my man Aloth! He made some implications about a man's sister...
  2. Not to whine, but why don't they include this kind of information in the email they send us? (and in the official announcements on this site) A new companion is way more interesting than some new Vithrack concept art...
  3. Would you prefer more fantasy-ish curses? Like "By Magran's Twin Axes!!" Durance is a potty mouth, and most players hate him, so that's the normal reaction I think;)
  4. Great to finally have a date! Looking forward to it! Can't say I'm looking forward to fighting more Vithrack though... all those charm spells!(T_T)
  5. Hmmm... there was a discussion about this before... Ah, here it is (for reference) https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/70497-adult-language-filter-option/?hl=swearing My 2 cents: People in a fantasy universe also swear. As long as it's not excessive, and as long as the language usage matches the character, I'm okay with this.
  6. Yeah... I was thinking that too. It would be ridiculous if you have to complete the whole of WM1 before you can get the barb. Hopefully they'll think of a more elegant solution.
  7. Well... it doesn't *feel* that linear because there are so many side quests and optional stuff to distract you. After re-playing it several times, I find that I usually start getting bored of the main quest when doing the 3 Leaden Key investigations. They always resolve in the same way, and since there are 3, it always seems like a drag. My personal opinion on the writing of Durance and GM: nice ideas, but too wordy. I would have preferred if their dialogues had less "fluff" and got more to the point. Since Durance's backstory is very relevant to the main storyline, it would be nice to pick his brains about it... if he would shut up with the fire metaphors for two seconds.
  8. Hmmm... I've divided here. I know what you mean. But creating a custom weapon group and then giving yourself a talent would be like getting 4 talents for the price of one. Grouping certain similar weapon types together (I mean, like "pike & spear" or "axe & hatchet") is still not that useful, but seems more logical...
  9. Really? Does anyone have a link?
  10. So, info on the White March 2 is still pretty sparse now, right? All we really know is: more stronghold stuff & revised athletics and survival (both good calls btw) I wonder if they'll be able to fit in one last companion? Since barbarian is now officially the only class that doesn't have a pre-made companion, it seems kind of appropriate that the final expansion should introduce one...
  11. To be honest, I was a little frustrated with the thread. As a recently released game, there are/were genuine bugs/issues that would cause the game to crash or become unplayable. Posting in the technical support forum that one companion is slightly weaker than the others seemed nitpicking (especially since the OP posted another thread about the same thing elsewhere) But since the devs have agreed, I suppose I am in the wrong. I apologize.
  12. SamHam has a point! Whatever happened to Chivalry? A one-on-six duel? (I'm joking but I actually do agree. Should be a boss battle, not a boss + army battle)
  13. You got me bro. I tried to use my diplomatic skill to cover all possible outcomes, and you got me.
  14. Wow, that sounds like a really awesome bug...
  15. Hmm....at which difficulty level though? I guess if you have enough fighters you can CC by fanning them out against multiple opponents, but wouldn't you need at least a priest, chanter, or cipher to counter enemy CC? Otherwise I'd think you'd be reloading a lot in White March. Admittedly, I do have a priest (My party is: fighter, paladin, rogue, barbarian, monk, priest) And admittedly, I haven't played PoTD so I can't speak for that. But for the first time, I'm seeing the value of a barbarian. 20 str (Aumaua) + long range weapon (so he can hit from the second row and stay out of harm's way) and he really gets through the crowds!
  16. Haven't played the ending yet, so ignoring the spoiler. But Amon's quirps are hilarious!! "The hope is a LIE!!!" (Read: The cake is a LIE!!!)
  17. Resolve = tank, combat wise. I've never been a fan of making my main character a tank though (since I feel the leader should kill stuff, not be a meat shield) but cool if that works for you. But if you want more dialogue options, you also need per and int, right? Why not play a back-row caster and specialize in these things?
  18. Nothing is absolutely necessary. I also had a "wizard is absolutely necessary!" mentality, but then I tried an all warrior party, and it worked great! (in fact, it's nice not to have to sleep every two minutes to refresh spells) As long as you use what you have efficiently, I'm sure you'll be fine.
  19. Look, I know how OP feels. When rolling my first character, I also wanted a main with lots of int\per\res so my dialogue options wouldn't be limited. As it turns out... it doesn't make a big difference to how the game feels/plays, but I didn't know that the first time round... Maybe it would help if (as 4ward) said, companions could assist in dialogue. Then you could roleplay a dumb-as-bricks warrior type, but have a smart wizard in your party to back you up with brains. I think in Neverwinter Nights 2, you occasionally get an option like "leave this to so-and-so".
  20. If you're asking whether you should buy the game, I would say: YES!! It's a great RPG. You don't have to think to deeply about the lore. Just enjoy building your characters and killing monsters;)
  21. Yup. I didn't do that the first time, but I guess being a nice guy pays off!
  22. Really? The dragons also got a bunch of immunities?? I see what OP means. It's logically reasonable but.... I'm not sure how you're supposed to beat the Adra and Snow Dragons without spamming some kind of status attack....
  23. I can't speak for the designers obviously, maybe they really did make a calculation error. But since all people/characters are different, I just don't think it's a bug if some are weaker or stronger than others. At worst, it's a balance issue.
  24. I understand the desire for a challenge, but some people actually consider that a positive point in RPGs. You start off as a weakling, but after much hard work, you get to feel like a god.
  25. I'm surprised the exp hasn't been addressed yet. You could get to level 8 or 9 in act one alone. I remember getting to level 12 way too early on my first play-through, but since then they've reduced the experience gain somewhat and I think it's now reasonable. Sure, if you do every single subquest and optional dungeon before continuing with the story, then you can get to level 8 in Act One... but then you deserve it, right?
