  1. Too much text in OP, couldn't read.
  2. Not sure how professional it is to try contacting them by writing a message in these forums and hoping they notice it... If they're not answering their email, why not DM their twitter or facebook page?
  3. Haha, my company has also asked me to look into it, so I would love to read your research;) That's more-or-less what I figured. A sense of doing your favorite activity with a beautiful/interesting "friend". And unlike multiplayer, its one-directional, so you can't flame each other;)
  4. So, as the title says: Why do people watch/love "Let's play..." videos? Some of the guys at my work rave about them, and old PewDiePie keeps making the news for all his subscribers. Now, just to be clear, I'm not here to hate on anyone, so if you're a PewDiePie fan, that's cool but... I don't get it. If I have that kind of extra time, I'd rather play the game myself. Is it like... playing video games with a buddy? Like having someone next to you to discuss the game with?
  5. Yeaaaah... I always help the miller. It's just... I dunno... Less trouble? Sweynur seems like more of a jerk? That's a pretty early, simple quest so I'm usually on auto-pilot;) Maybe I'll try mix it up next time.
  6. I'd back that. All the same, surely they don't have to use a kickstarter again? After the success of POE, someone should be willing to fund them...
  7. That quiz thingy was interesting. Apparently, I'm a Hillary Clinton man!
  8. Interesting. That's always been kind of a plot hole really. Your character never actually gets a chance to make his tea.
  9. Haha, the level of hype around here is a little low. Well, I guess it's part 2 of an expansion set, not a new game(^_^;
  10. @Humanoid: You surprise me! 1 isn't enough for me. A 4-6 man team is just right (That's why I'm more of an IWD guy) Totally agree though, boyish thief girl and aging playboy are great options. @Darkpriest: Yeah, I know, I didn't come out to dis POE. But I just noticed my satisfaction rate was a lot higher with XCOMs system. And maybe it all comes down to the engine, but that doesn't mean one can't compare.
  11. lol, a 5 minute fix! I doubt things are ever that simple;) Have some respect for the trouble the programmers must go through;)
  12. Like a lot of other people, I've been addicted to XCOM2 for the past couple of weeks. One of the things I love most about the game is the character creation system, which is simple, yet very satisfying. I say simple because it's not like say, Fallout, where you can tweak your character's nose down to the last cm (I really don't think that's necessary BTW). Now even though XCOM and POE are vastly different worlds/settings, I think POE could learn a little from XCOM2. 1. Sexy factor Firstly, to be honest, whenever I make a character in a game, unless I'm doing some specific theme, I generally want that character to be hot/sexy/handsome. Surely many people feel this way? XCOM gives you a variety of ways to make hot characters. POE? Not so much. There were one or two elf/human faces that might qualify, but it was literally impossible to make a hot/handsome dwarf, orlan or aumaua. Let's not even go into Godlike. I suppose this is more of a graphics issue though. 2. Props In XCOM2, you get hat/helmet, upper face, lower face, scars and armour/weapon patterns. You can do a surprising amount with this. Now, in POE, you have to find all your gear, and customize that way. But would it hurt to give the character some purely cosmetic freebies in the beginning? For example: eye-patch/monocle/hood etc.. Likewise, in XCOM2, a soldier's country has no relevance, but you still get to see the flag on their back. In POE, you can choose your background, but at the end of the day, its all text. How about some visible (and again, purely cosmetic) reminders of their background? Like... aristocrats get a free fur coat. Priests get a free robe etc. It's embarrassing to put it this way, but if I make a character, I want to play dress-up damnit. If you're not going to make in-game clothing shops, how about that sort of thing is free at character creation? What do you guys think? Or if there's a game that has a better character creation system, let's hear it.
  13. Hmmmm... Although I have pleasant memories of multi-classing, I'm starting to think it won't work with the current system. After all, any class can already use all the weapons and armour. A multiclass in POE would just be a strange mish-mash of abilities. For more character creation variety, I would prefer that they make more sub-classes. For example, more priest or paladin types with more unique abilities. Or different monk schools etc. Or just more unique abilities in general.
  14. I second all those opinions about the last level. It's ridiculously long, and the last part with a huge area, and 3 teleporting bosses is a nightmare. Still love the game though.
  15. Yeah... the thing with hats is, a lot of them look cheesy. Would love to be able to enchant the more cool looking helmets. Here's hoping for POE2.
  16. Well, I'm not wild about the "finger of death/disintegreation" either, but mainly because I don't like moves that rely on randomness. I think a lot of gamers feel this way. You'd rather have guaranteed damage than role a dice. And anyway, bosses are always immune to things like that.
  17. OP may be right. One symptom of having 2 expansions which start within the vanilla campaign is the difficultly being all over the place. But I say, let them go crazy now with WM2 (making new abilities, magic weapons, resting bonuses etc.) and then when POE2 comes out, they can start from scratch with making a balanced campaign. And Why also has a point. Scaling should be more subtle, and (where possible) logical.
  18. Never heard of Darklands, but sure, I'd play a game set in the Holy Roman empire with a infinity engine type interface.
  19. As I understand, WM2 directly continues the story of WM1, so yes, it will be in the middle of the original game. I haven't really tried the level scaling feature, so I can't say. I'm guessing though that no matter how much you pump up the difficulty, a level 14-16 party is still going to clean house. Can anyone confirm?
  20. February is such a great month for games! Now I'm playing Xcom 2 and enjoying it thoroughly. But tomorrow, Shin Megami Tensei 4 Final comes out. And later this month, we have the White March part 2. How on earth will I divide my gaming time!? (^_^)
  21. I've seen one or two minor bugs (mostly graphical), but nothing game breaking. I love the level of detail for soldier customization! Just wish they had voice sets for all the languages.
  22. Agree with DreamWayFarer. Maerwald's situation was pretty unique. Sure, your character has done things in their past lives that they're not proud of, but you probably have some time yet. Can't say I particularly felt rushed there. In my opinion, it's one of the weakest parts of the POE story. From "you might go mad" --> "go investigate the Leaden Key" felt like a bit of a leap.
  23. *shrugs* It's only 118 yen old fruit. What does it really matter?
  24. So... sorry, something I've never been clear on: do druids stats all directly affect the animal form?
  25. Starcraft 2's last campaign also suffered from too many "arbitrary time limits". I wish they wouldn't resort to timers when they're trying to make something difficult. A game can be difficult without a timer.
