problem with seemingly invincible enemies?
Zilod replied to Salvador's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
are you sure you are hitting them? you see the red numbers above their head when you do damage? i played the game many times and never had this kind of problem maybe is just that the "to hit" of your char and your comrades is too low to hit them consistently. also it could be that they are invul to some kind of damage is not this case but for example if you fight with sabres and blasters against a critter that have 100% resist to energy you will do no damage but not due to a bug. the thing with Atton is a graphical glitch, it doesn't happen everytime but this this one seem to be quite common. -
Don't you have to do Onderon part II before that anyway? no you do Onderon part 2 after you complete another planet after it, for example if i go Onderon->Nar Shadda->Korriban->Dantooine i can do Onderon part II after i complete Nar Shadda but yes, if you do Onderon as 3rd planet and Dant as last one you have to return to Onderon after it.

I don't think there is really a best planet order Dant is a nice start to grab some crystals, but also at the beginning, with few jedi you don't needy many of them, also you can get some good crystals even on other planets. For my taste i like to do Nar Shadda at the beginning (1st or 2nd planet) as i really like Mira who, as a jedi, have an awesome array of skills and great defence (she can also be a very good blaster jedi). I prefer to not level her up and to go straight to the passage. I also don't like to do dant at the end, but just because the academy is rebuilt after 3 sec you left it

plot and characters are the first thing for me IMO a rpg, or better an adventure with some rpg elements, is basically a story like a book or a movie... if i really like just graphic then a movie is better than the most stunning graphic eheh also i will not say that graphic is totally ininfluental, as is the sound, they can both add athmosphere and improve the gaming experience. also i don't really think that a bad graphic can really ruin a game with fantastic plot and gameplay, there are many examples with games with average graphic and great concept that become masterpiece. so imo a good graphic is nice, but not essential for this kind of game.

just upping, and an advice save the game before the first time you start a race... as said in this 3D it could happen that you get bugged and everytime you finish the race the race guy tell you that you crashed. (it happened to me on Nar Shadda, probably after i aborted a race) So better to have a "clean" save to restart the race

you have to jump when you start the race....

bah i don't see many posts with this game is crap, obsidian is crap and so on... there are some, generally childish ones... there are posts that point to cut content or to the bugs (few for my experiance), but most of the time these post seem to be made by people who enjoyed the game and just wanted it to be better. Most of the post i see are the ones who try to discuss of the game, to understand the story, the characters or simply some mechanic. If the forum is going to be closed i think that it will impact mostly these people that like to confront with other players because they like the game and want to have a better understanding of it. Also i don't see nothing strange if devs don't post too much and i don't think they should give any reason for that. I'm more happy if a dev use his time to work on a patch or even to another game that to reply to all the whining childs that stalk them with PMs. I hope that Obsidian will reconsider this decision, looking more to the constructive discussions than to few whiners that are around.

when Kreia "talks" to the Exile she is using toughts as said think of Ben that was talking to Luke on the death star and in the final attack against it. I can agree with the reason, but how the power where transferred? the most logical explanation is that they are transferred using this link. I agree with that, i think that she using Sion to show the Exile the strengh of their bound. The masters ignore a lot of things, they can't even understand what the Exile is, but as said i think that to consider the link lethal or not is just a matter of personal opinion as i haven't seen anything in the game that really clarify this point. Kreia and the pain at the hand seem to point that, other force users seem to point to the opposite...
-
I really like Kreia... i think she can even beat the Exile if she wanted (she almost killed him in "one shot" on dantooine), but also i think she really died. She alredy won, she have no more reason to live... And during the game i had the impression that her life was against her own plans, she tells to the Exile that the echoes of Malachor V have to be stopped or the galaxy will be destroyed (and i think she is one of these echoes). Also she can't leave the force, this is probably against her main goal, as Atris and her teachings had to be stopped, so probably even her and her teachings have to suffer the same fate. Just speculations eheh, but for sure after the final enlightment of the Exile she have no more reasons to live.

I'm more inclined to think that the link is real, if it was a total lie then Kreia and the Exile should not be able to "exchange" their buff (when you use force speed even Kreia is affected and vice versa). For this reason i think that a real strong bound is really in effect, a bound that is not just as the normal master/apprentice. I also think that when Kreia "speak" to the Exile she use this bound to transmit her toughts (something like Ben was doing with Luke). In my opinion Kreia used the link to make the Exile feel the force and for sure to give him a good reason to stick with her... the bound is also usefull as a tool to control what the exile is doing and to act as necessary. As said i think that Kreia created this bound, probably "using" also the ability of the Exile to form strong links with the ones around him and i'm inclined to think that this bound was severed in the final battle on malachor V. I don't think it was severed on Dantooine because after Kreia almost kill you she speak to your mind and as said i consider that is done by the link. (maybe she severed the link just after that last communication, but also the link was probably still usefull to monitor the Exile progress) The big question in my opinion is not if the link is real or not (as said i think is quite evident that a there is a strong bound between the chars), but if that bound is letal or not.... we never know that and everything wil be just speculations. My opinion is that the link is really lethal, but i say that just because i trust Kreia words and the fact that the Exile feel a big pain when Kreia's hand is severed seem to point to that.

I think she is holding back even in the last fight and yes she can do the same thing to you if she want... If you kill the enclave then Kreia will face the Exile and she will almost kill him in "one shot" Kreia is really powerfull she is probably a master of both light and dark side, i think we don't really see how powerfull is she in the game, her goal is to enlight the exile, not to destroy him or his enemies. as said i think she is holding back for all the game, is the Exile that have to grown facing tests (and enemies) if Kreia will take care of them by herself the Exile will never improve. Is also interesting to see that when the exile is not able to face an enemy (Sion at the beginning or the council) here that she handle the threat personally. for the level think that is a game, even atton probably should be a high level guy, was a sith elite jedi assassin... Mira was the best BH on Nar Shadda but is just lv6... and so on.
-
i 100% agree, Kreia is quite underrated in my opinion... she have knowledge, power, she manipulate everyone (poor Nihilus included), she is so great that her enemy is the force itself. Probably her ability to hide from the force and to keep a low profile worked even on many players

Nihilus is primal hunger instinct, can't be a real villain, is a sort of natural power of destruction like it can be a storm... i liked how it was implemented in the game a way that made not him the ultra uber evil guy, but a creature whose power is also his greatest weakness... and about the fact that is killed so easilly... the Nihilus strenght is not in his ability to use his lightsabre or some awesome force knowledge and power, his strenght is his draining technique, whitout it here that he return to be "a man", a powerfull sith, but nothing more. Any powerfull jedi that can't be drained like the Exile, Kreia (after she was drained the first time), and maybe even a strong Visas should be able to handle him.

eheh as a male probably i should stay away from this topic but wanted to add my opinion. From what i heard is not that the female romances are way worse than male ones... What i see mostly a problem with the romance is the lack of "intimity". i'm not referring to sex, kisses or dialogues with honey that invade the Ebon Hawk, but to have a better knowledge of the other char and of his/her feelings and toughts. When a romance "start" i really don't see too much happen, we get maybe a cutscene or some reference that the npc have some interest, but nothing more "structurated" and the romance seem to end just when it started for the lack of choices with DS chars i don't think that males get better option, i'm a LS guy so i'm quite happy with Visas () or the handmaiden, but ig i where DS probably i will have some troubles, as said i like Visas, but i have problem to see her as a real DS option...

If K2 had a simpler, straight forward plot
Zilod replied to dufflover's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
The main plot is the stronghest point of this game.... If so many people enjoyed it (expecially with the problems the game have) is due to the story and some very good chars. A simpler plot have made this game just an average soon to be forgotten game as many, too many ones. I'm all about complex and deep stories... most of the time games, movies, even books seem to suffer from superficiality so i'm more than happy when i can play a game with an interesting and mature story and, as a good book, can also make me think. aaaa and for Nihilus and Kreia... Nihilus is just a pawn in her hands she is so superior to him, also i can't consider her a sith lord or a villain so even for the story it makes sense to me that she is not presented as the main opponent. (just to add to other reason stated above) -
I'm not too sure, but i think to remember that someone in KOTOR1 stated that the curved "sith" ships where of alien design. Also even the design itself is very different from the normal republic ships and the curved ones, but as said i'm not sure too and i can be wrong. They are really different, you can see some of KOTOR1 models on background in the cutscene of the attack on Talos, if you compare them is quite clear they are very different.

Just my opinion, the scene that got cut where not actually love scenes, but ones whith Anakin/Padme chatting a bit of themselves, always usefull to make the chars a bit deeper... the opening with Amidala speaking to the senate was cut too, a good scene in my opinion. Also the story with Doku was changed a bit, i think that a verbal confrontation with Anakin-Amidala vs him had to be nice.... In exchange we had another action sequence, the one in the factory, that is in my opinon the worst we have in the movie, also after that point there are almost no more dialogues in the movie as it "grow" with all action sequences, looong ones (even if very well made). This makes the movie a bit umbalanced in my opinion and also the characters remain a bit superficial. ehm is also true that average dialogues with average actors can result in a lot of boring moments

for me ANH is the best with ESB close near i think the quality of other movies is just inferior to these 2, expecially for PM... not that any is really a bad, but i think the inspiration slowly left Lucas... who put way more emphasis on special effects and less and less in story and characters. also probably epII was a bit ruined in post production, so i have hope that Lucas can still redeem himself

I make this post because sometimes i see someone with problems with swoop race. As you know, on PC version, when you start you find yoursleft in midair, unable to hit speed pannels.... here how to fix it... Is quite simple, when the starter turns green press both start and jump buttons, you will start the race with a jump that will prevent you to float in mid air good racing... VROOOOOMMMMMM

Consider that the Exile is a "retired" jedi, so i don't see too strange that most of them see you as just a normal prey, is it true that on some planets you could get a good reputation, but also consider that most of these planets are a bit "isolated" and that your char is trying to keep a low profile to not meet millions of enemies at every corner.

Nihilus is just a guy that mastered a particular technique, this thing changed him making him become a sort of force of destruction, a primal instinct that can't satisfy his hunger. This makes him a powerfull creature totally enslaved by the force, but in the end is "just a man" also for TSL is necessary fpr the story that he get completely destroyed. As the starforge is mentioned is impossible that nihilus used it after the jedi wars because in the LS ending it is destroyed in the last battle. Maybe all the true sith will dress like him, or we will meet some other man that mastered that technique becoming like him... but for Nihilus i think he is too dead

For Kreia's questions there is a long 3D in this forum, there are a lot of theories and ideas about her. the 3D is named Kreia's goals if i remember right and probably is around page 5 or 6 ther's another 3D named Kreia history that try to speculate a bit about what she have done before TSL, there are some ideas too there but probably you will find more usefull the first one i suggested.

What the Jedi masters hoped to accomplish
Zilod replied to hawk's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Just to explain a bit my vision. I think that the exile is a real hole, in the game almost all chars consider him that, not just the council but even Visas for example that see the Exile as similar to herself, Kreia see him as the death of the force and call him with various other names that seem to point to that direction and Nihilus can't drain him. This last thing is quite interesting as the only way that the Exile had to not be destroyed was to have nothing to be drained, so had to be an hole in the force. Note that when i say a hole in the force i'm not considering him as Nihilus, they are really different for the motivation stated above and in wich i think we agree. For the bounds i must admit that they are quite a problem for me, sometimes i have the impression that as you say is just his leadership (both Kreia and Visas speak about that) but also in some point of the game i don't think is possible to explain them with just that and they seem to be really something force related. In particular there is a moment on dantooine when Kreia tells to the exile that the sith lords learnt from him to extabilish strong links to drain the essence from the livings (a thing like that), this really imply that he can create some "real force" links. My actual opinion about that is that there are both "force bounds" and leadership inspiration (?), i think the exile use (whitout knowing that) the force to estabilish these bounds, these links are not meant to control (as the council think) but just to makes the exile and the others feel nearer, attuned a sort of form of comunication and understanding of the other by the force. As said then these links are not used to control the other, but is his natural leadership that makes the other follow him. And here why i think the exile is a threat for the council (or why the council thinks that) To start the jedi master are wrong as they think the Exile is using his force bounds to manipulate his friends and force them to follow him. (manipulate is also a bad word as in kreia perspective is probably what he is really doing ) So they think that with the time he will estabilish his bounds even with them and will slowly make them leave the force (or maybe even drain their force). This is what i think is their vision that we know is not correct. Is also interesting to consider that probably the exile was really able to do that, but not bu a force link, but just inspiring the others to follow his path, to show that the force is not essential to be a complete as a man and it can be an obstacle. For is friends is a bit different as they are not born jedi they become what they are with their strenghts and fighting in most of their life, so probably they are not blinded and so attached to it as the old jedis. Interesting. I must meditate upon this. My vision about the council decision as not wrong is centered on this idea, for sure if you don't agree with it their decision to hold back seem simply wrong.
