  1. again if that model is a republic ship why during the game is said they are of alien design? why we see only siths use this kind of ships? for the Ravager... it doesn't like a SSD, the SSD is quite flat and very long, the Ravager is compact and "muscular" more like a "standard" SD, even if the deck is very symilar to the SSD one
  2. That's utterly false. The fact that the Republic was alive and well long enough for Revan to be captured rather clearly implies that the Star Forge had some limitation. If if it didn't, the Republic would not have been intact long enough to capture Revan, and Revan certainly wouldn't have had time to destroy it before Malak had produced enough ships to finish the job. we have 2 games that say that, even when the Exile talks to Kreia it say something like that Revan had endless resources. Not to say that even in KOTOR1 is stated more than once. Even the fact that Revan is used by the jedi to find the starforge imply that they know that they can't win the war if they will not destroy that factory. the Revan capture was not a technology fault, just a good strategy for the republic that prepared a trap and used also Bastila's battle meditation. In the game is also stated that if Revan will still be the leader the sith had won at that time and even now, with just Malak, the republic is "alive" mostly due to the battle meditation skill. Consider also that Revan suffered many casualities during the mandalorian wars, after he won the war he haven't attacked the republic and i think this imply that he had not such strong forces, both of mens and ships. He moved war to the republic after he discovered the starforg and built a powerfull fleet. for the fly example i don't think is so pertinent, is obious that i will not use a shotgun for a fly but just because the technologies that the shotgun is based on is not appropriate for that purpose. Is not that the shotgun is an "advanced" version of the paper to crush the fly, they are very different things. I can't recall anything like that, and I'm usually quite attentive to such things. Regardless, unless my impression of the force is all wrong, any such technology would depend on the user being able to use the force, which in turn would severely limit the use of such ships in the Jedi Civil War as a fairly small portion of those who participated were jedi. This is mostly my supposition and probably "it seem to me" was more appropriate, i think about that because Rakatans says that their techonlogy used the force and that their ship where very fast, after they lose the force they where forced to build ships with different technology and they where no more able to travel as fast as before. This makes me think that the force played an active role for their propulsion system so more likelly and energy itself or a power to handle some unknow energy. In both case is probable that a technology like that, that handle a very powerfull energy, can be used even for weapos and not just for "engines". also if i'm not wrong in EU there are some example of weapons powered by the force but i have not a direct knowledge of it so i leave this for EU experts
  3. is exactly what is happening, regardless of all the efforts and resources the republic is putting in they are not able to stop that fleet in the game there are some points that makes it quite clear, that regardless of the loses the Sith fleet continue to grow. I agree with that but you say yourself that your technology have to be the best, even in the military field for what we know Rakatan technology at the apex of their empire where far superior to republic one in many fields. It will seem quite strange to me that a race of fighters will not develop weapons that take advantage of the best scientific knowledge of the race. just for example, it seem that Rakatan where able to use the force as a form of energy, it makes sense to me that it powered also their weapons. for the sith ship design seem very reasonable to me that, as said by tu2thepoo, the project cold be a mix of republic and rakatan design/technology, but still it doesn't make it a republic ship
  4. is resolved, now we know what happened.... the glory and credits goes to..... (w00t) Aimo! (w00t) http://aimostudio.com
  5. What rebel ship?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> uops :"> ehm republic ship adding here. is it true that there could be some old upgraded model in various army corps, but this is also generally due to cost and effectiveness, Revan with the starforge had not these problems, as the factory can simply mass produce all that is needed and point just to best effectiveness. a proof of that is that we don't see any "normal" republic ship design in Revan ships, but only the big curved "sith" ships. For Rakatan technology consider that it was a race of warriors and conquerers with their own warlords, seem quite normal to me that they developed powerfull weapons and during the end of the infinite empire they where also facing revolts from the race they enslaved.
  6. i agree that probably sith fleet was just a garrison, but the rebel ship whre a massive force and they had not a single ship resembling the sith ones not to say that to destroy 2 of that ships they need Bastila's battle meditation and half of the regular fleet. we are speaking about battleships not knives... there are not operative galleons and wind powered frigates in the US navy for example. also the Rakatan technology is quite superior to the republic one. The starforge can produce an endless fleet, the starmap where destroyed but they rebuilt themselves in some millenia, the field that surrond the unknow planet can destroy all the republic fleet, the prison cube is way better and safer than a containment field... Is probable that the Rakatan ships are not the best product of their technology (as they don't seem to be force powered) but still they showed to be way better than any republic fleet design ship.
  7. not my fault if in KOTOR1 is said they are of alien design. adding here. if they are republic ships why we don't see a single republic ship of that class? If that is a "common" republic design we should see some of them in both sides, expecially in the final battle where the republic use almost all the resources to attack the starforge. there is not even a similar republic ship near that model Rakatan have a superior technology, it makes quite sense that if they are Rakatan ships they will be superior to the republic ones. why someone should use a biplane instead of a F22?
  8. again i'm quite sure that in KOTOR1 is stated that Revan's ships are of alien design. the fact that Carth know that Saul ship is the Leviatan doesn't mean that this is automatically a republic ship. Carth at the time of KOTOR1 have fought Saul for some years, that ship is also one of the most imporant ones in sith fleet, so is quite normal that he know the signature of that ship. It happens even with real battleship, so i don't se it so strange. I also agree that the BG of Saul that defeat and join Revan with his ship "the leviatan" goes against that and that is mostly an incoherence. It could also be that he joined Revan with the original leviathan, but after Revan "conquered" the starforge they replaced all the republic ships with the new and more powerfull alien ones and some captains chose to keep the old name for the new ship. Probably is a bit too much speculative and is more likelly that one of the 2 statements (Saul BG and ingame alien design) is wrong.
  9. thx for the info
  10. tought to edit the post as there is a new announcment that clearly states that the forum will not be closed cheer for Obsidian
  11. Leviathan should be a Rakatan design, in KOTOR1 they are described as ships of alien design. the Ravager is a republic desgin and it really looks like an ISD (even too much in my opinion ) i think both models where drawn starting from the ISD we see in the movies but they are not the same ship.
  12. aaaa Mission in KOTOR1 i see her more as 15-17 very nice artwork, but i continue to see her more as a sharp tounge scoundrel eheh
  13. I said that is no more possible because after TSL the 2 chapters are forming a single story, to make the 3rd chapter not directly related to the heroes of the first 2 game will be like to cut the end of a book.... Thinks for example to LOTR whitout the final book, it will ruin all the story. TSL itself have a suspended and unresolved ending that can't simply be addressed by some flashbacks, also note that Obsidian had the possibility to make a closed end but they (or LA) chose to not resolve the story. Even in TSL we had to chose Revan's sex and light or dark side, more important even if Revan is not directly inside the game, there are a lot of info about who he was, why he acted and so on... In the other post i also said that IMO a DS Revan is no more possible, during most of the game we have characters that tell us that Revan have done what he had to do, he is also presented as the heart of the force, so probably something outside any code and Kreia at some point states directly that he never felt. In TSL i think Revan got a "reset", the one we played in KOTOR1 is not the Revan we know, he got his memory back and in both LS or DS he came back to the person he was. For what i see Revan is no more the BioWare creature, is something new and something we don't know too much. I really hope that Obsidian will do KOTORIII, also i had the impression that they (and LA) alredy had some ideas about the next story, if another company will do the game i think they will start from the general lines alredy tought. Also i agree that the third chapter will be really difficult and complex to develop, not for the story itself, i really don't see anything difficult about that, but for the game mechanic. My comment was about the starting role of the Exile and Revan, not about the development of the story (in the last chapter) itself. Note that as said i was not against to have very different stories for all chapters... for example KOTOR1: Revan story that end saving/conquering the galaxy KOTOR2: the story of the exile (replicable in a different timeframe and whitout any Revan implications) KOTOR3: the story of another jedi knight with his own closed plot. but as at this point the chapters are bounded to built a bigger plot i don't think is no more possible.
  14. ehm ther's Lootra and not Visas? Kreia - Sara Krestleman (too awesome to give the part to someone else .P) i add as they come to mind... Atton - Jonny Deep (should be quite appropriate for the "fool" Atton)
  15. don't touch Mission here the DE ends and the true Mission story... Mission was left as dead on the unknow world, big Z had not the heart to vibrate the final blow and, to try to save her, he "incapped" the poor Twi'lek hoping for Carth to return (that fearless guy) to help her... the Twi'lek is badly wounded and very near the death when Revan's ship leave the planet, but is not Carth that find her but the Rakatans... They use their technology to heal her and soon they discover that she is indeed very powerfull in the force, they teach her all their ancient secrets and their lost technology and how to penetrate in the starforge temple... Now it happens that Revan leave the galaxy and the siths are no more able to control the starforge, Mission decides to take the action, with a group of Rakatan warriors she attack the ancient factory and capture it from the siths, that will never be able to use it anymore. In meantime the Exile find Revan and they decide not to destroy the real siths but to become their leaders, they come back in the republic space with all the sith armada and engage the republic fleet lead by adm Carth... The battle is terrible and seem that there is no hope against such a powerfull fleet, but when all seem lost a powerful Rakatan fleet jump out of hyperspace engaging the siths fleet... A ship of unknow design board with the sith flagship and groups of elite Rakatan warriors fight against the enemy soldier to reach the bridge where Revan and the Exile are leading the battle... a young twi'lek girl approach the two lord and an epic fight begin... Strong is Revan, the earth of the force, and the Exile a hole that draw the life from the life itself, but ther's nothing they can do against the primeval(?) power of the blue twi'lek, her ancient rakatan sword seem unsopable and soon the two sith lords are dead at her feet... The invasors are destroyed, the republic saved and can start to rebuild from its ruins, the rakatan have fought bravelly and finally they have been forgiven for their terrible past.... and the blue twi'lek have avenged her big furry friend that betrayed his life oath to save her. this is the true story of Mission, the rakatan princess, and how she saved the galaxy from the true sith menace. eheh sorry but was not able to resist
  16. Is exactly what i was saying, will be pointless and sad to have an ambientation not close to TSL and not with the same main characters, the story started with a PC Revan and in my opion should be a PC Revan to close it. (with the Exile of course eheh )
  17. to put the story 100 years after TSL is no more possible, it will be like to have ROTJ after the emperor died from age, at this point will completely ruin the story. to find the mummies of Revan and Exile will be very ehm sad and will make the first 2 games pointless. Due to the end of TSL i hope we will start KOTOR3 with the Exile on the Ebon Hawk that begin to search for Revan, and there that gaming problems can start. In my opinion both Revan and the Exile should be playable, to have them just as cameo npcs will probably weaken all the story who will not be anymore the story of Revan but of the "sith invasion", also the player have never used Revan when he was Revan and this is a lack atm... To have both Revan and Exile playable can give bit problems like to have not real main charater (IMO very bad) and/or to split the game in 2 (IMO very bad too). I don't think the beginning with LS/DS Revan/Exile will be a problem as probably both char where "normalized" to a sort of neutral force users, so in this "sector" the development of the story should be quite linear. I'm very curious to see what Obsidian will do and if they will be able to keep the same level of TSL.
  18. the problem is probably on Korriban, but from what you said you have done everything there.... maybe try to go to another planet like Nar Shadda and to exit and enter into Ebon Hawk a couple of times, if nothing happens try to load a game just before you landed to Korriban and restart from there.
  19. your planet order?
  20. what have you done on Korriban?
  21. Probably i agree, the continuity can put strong restrictions and will be more difficult to develop a story keeping in mind all the things that have to be resolved. It is also a bit sad to know that chars from kotor1 are dead (Juhani, jolee) probably eaten by Nihilus, or to see Carth or Bastilla that suffered so much have lost all that they fought for... Is also sad to know that all the past battles where pointless as, like Kreia will probably say, the force strive for balance even when many lives where spent and forge a destiny for everyone.... the good is that, if the trilogy will be well built ir will be probably more enjoyable than 3 separate games... IMO now the developer of KOTORIII (i hope will still be Obsidion) will be in huge troubles to finalize the trilogy, but also i'm very pleased with TSL and i think Obsidinal have the talent to do a good game that will end the cycle.
  22. so it happened, probably just a coincidence in another game i noticed that Mira had not the suit on so just to test i reload a save of my first game and even there the suit was not showing anymore. i tried some times and nothing... as said maybe was just lucky the first time eheh
  23. eheh same for me, i had all the party goes happily around with just some heals also first time i played the space suit was there, it haven't shown anymore since the first patch.
  24. This was just one of the motivations to do that, the other 2 where stronger imo, but anyway consider that the battle is not all the republic ship against the Ravager Nihilus had even some rakatan ships as support, and the Ravager itself seem to be an awesome ship, even Carth say that when they attack, maybe if mandalorians had not destroyed it the sith had won the battle... In such a big battle seem very dangerous, and so very honorable, to strike the heart of the enemy, in this case it's capital ship. and the Ravager is not deserted, is full of siths....
  25. I think we must consider some things Mandalore at that time is your follower, you fought togather, you demonstrated your honor, not to say that the Exile is a natural leader. Mandalorians where almost dead, most of them lost their honor to become scums and mercenaries, the Ordo clan is tring to rebuild what they have lost and this battle can be the chance to prove to the galaxy, and even better to themselves, that "true" mandalorians and their code is not dead. also mandalorians seeks honor in battle, expecially against strong enemies, so this battle is a good place to gain such honor and respect.
