hi i can't check the save file but i have a saved game just before to leave the yacht little problem is that my language is not english so i'm not 100% sure about names of various systems... anyway before shutting down secondary power check what systems are under it you should have or have moved these ones to sec power - docking hatch - cloacking device - containment cells then shut down secondary power and run to the exit you should meet a lot of bounty hunters while running back, if you don't meet anyone then something is wrong. hope it helps

Missed oportunity Import Charaters
Zilod replied to zaarbuc's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
yes it could appear a bit strange the chars where not the same as most RPG/adventure games use this approach for various sequels but having enjoyed a lot TSL and its story i have no complains to do also we have to consider that there where some problems to continue Revan's story from the point we left it in kotor kotor2 had very different possible ending both for the protagonist and his comrades, i think it was nearly impossible to do a game that kept track of all that possibilities. every char use a lot of resources, finite resources, making it impossible to make a real import, also you have to do a lot more work as you have to write lines both for old and new chars, as in the DS ending you where able to kill all your comrades. even for Revan himslef there are a lot of problems, the choice between like and dark side can't be implemented as Revan alredy chose his path in kotor, and even the enviroment in wich he operate should treat him very differently depending of how kotor finished... also we have to consider that the devs are not the same, they are not the developers of original chars so there was the risk to not represent the true spirit of all the old chars. then personally i also like the fact that TSL doesn't make kotor1 obsolete... when you finish the game the old protagonists, Malak for example is not a weak char that every sith assassin you encounter ingame can kill... but he can still be considered a strong (sort off ) sith lord. so in the end, yes maybe was possible to continue that sotry, but there where way more problems that it could appear and also, looking at the sotry we have in TSL, i'm really glad devs chose to narrate their own chapter of star wars. /await kotor 3 -
i'm quite clueless about what Revan have found about these true sith... sometimes it seem they are really a sort of sect hiding inside the galaxy/republic, so they could be basically everywhere, maybe with tempes/academies/other on remote planets as malachor/korriban... (to give an idea like many palpatine) sometimes they really seem to be a strong empire situated in some unknow region of the galaxy and now ready to attack and conquer the republic (after they weakened it with the manda wars). instead i don't agree much with the idea that malachor cantained knowledge to destroy the true sith or that Revan made it a weapon against them malachor was intended by revan to convert his/her army to the dark side and to his/her will, the hole/wound in the force was caused instead (accidentaly) by the exile. also i don't agree with the idea that nihilus and sion had to be destroyed because they where a "beacon" for the true siths... for sion can't really express much, but nihilus had to be stopped or his hunger had consumed all the galaxy. also i think that nihilus, for his nature, was actually a threat more dangerous than true siths, but we will discover that in next chapter. instead i'm quite sure that true siths know really well the situation of the republic, they started mandalorian wars and now they are probably just awaiting to strike the final blow.

not considering kreia ( ) and visas ( ) for character utility i'll go with Mira... she can build a very good defence (i think she have virtually the highest one after a defensive built exile) she is proficent in all skills making her one of the most versatile chars (if not the most versatile one) in combat she have not the strenght of bri or bao dur but she can make both a decent caster, melee or eventually even stay ranged (for people who like pistols) also the rocket launcher is not a bad weapon and is a char who can easilly become a jedi at lv6 so a lot of template possibility as she is a sent i like even Atton, his special skill can be handly in some circumstances, he have mostly the same pro of Mira but with less versatility... also he tend to become a jedi at higher levels (as he is almost always in group at early levels) bri makes a strong fighter but she have a very poor versatility so i put her at same "utility level" as atton, bao dur have a bit more skills but imo is too weak on defence. and then ther's the disciple... mmmm disciple.... disciple? ok i don't use him much, mostly cause imo as pure casters i prefer kreia or even visas

very nice post, there are only 2 points i don't fully agree with... Kreia had always a huge hunger for knowledge an hunger that was never satisfied when she was a jedi or a sith... i think in the end the thing that caused her fall and exile both as a jedi and sith was her knowledge of the force and her position in its reguards. so i don't really think she realized the flaws of both side of the force after her exile from malachor but while she was studing the sith way. second thing is about the echoes, i think she alredy knew of them, probably she was one of them herself, in the same way she alredy knew about the exile and what he was. she experienced malachor, she was the master of nihilus who is very similar to the exile so she had knowledge of these echoes pretty much from the battle of malachor V. a theory can be that she tried to "educate" nihilus as she have done with the exile, so to be an example for the galaxy, but nihilus hod not any plan to become something like that and his unger of power made him betray kreia and turned him in the nihilus we know. in this perspective the qute you made from the game makes a lot of sense... then after her failture with nihilus she had one "last hope" to succeed in her original plan (to "destroy" the force), this hope was the exile and this is the reason she begin to search for him/her and then to start his/her education. one of the questions i always had about kreia was... why she never searched for the exile after manda wars if she alredy knew about him/her and alredy had knowledge about the flaws of the force? this theory fit it quite perfectly... simply she had not need of him/her ar that time as she where alredy "working" on nihilus and only after the betrayal of her pupil she where in need of a "replacement" as the exile

just adding a note i saw it was alredy mentioned that Kae fought in mandalorean wars (and died in them) and is quite probable that even Kreia fought in these wars (as is said on dant) also we know for sure that Kreia was present at malachor V and knew in first person the "pain" that the Exile, and other jedis, suffered in that battle (again the dialogues at dant) so if she partecipated in that war is also not strange that the Exile doesn't remember Kreia at all? Kreia was a powerfull jedi master, a master of Revan so probably an important character in that expedition. the Exile was a commander under Revan, it seemed that he had a role of great responsability, so he had to know a jedi master so important and near Revan. also why to cancel the Exile's memories about Kae? it was a jedi as many other in that war, so why to cancel her in particular? the most logical conclusion is that Kreia removed all the memories the exile had of her and for this reason he can't remember anymore both about Kae and Kreia role during manda wars just adding.... there could be other possible explanation about the facs mentioned and for sure these are all theories, but i think this is a good thing about this game. even in movies we see too many times reasons and connections of various characters served to us on a silver plate and i think this makes a story quite simplicistic if not flat sometimes. personally i prefer a story that keep in high reguard the intelligence and sensibility of its "spectator" making him think about it and not resolving all the doubts someone can have. so maybe it was an abandoned plot... or a side effect of an unfinished game... but maybe not... and i think is also "interesting" that no dev ever answered to this question

Kreia outperforms everyone ...reasons removed for possible spoilers... /selffustigate i think even palpy will be scared by her

I keep all Helton answers axept the ones i don't agree with .p 2. On malachor he was invested by the screams in the force and the corruption energy of malachor, he instinctively tried to "flee" from that horror and doing that he "fled" from the force too, cutting himself to it and becoming a hole. 4. I think she is referring mostly to a particular jedi he killed but he tells you all his story with enought influence. 7. it seem it is an ancient academy long forgotten by sith, but no hint about precisely it was built 10. No, Kreia also had normal working eyes, she lost her normal vision recently but she doesn't need it anymore. Also she have a gift very similar to Visas one. and no they don't die as you can ask Kreia about thir future.

mmm probable, but was considering something more like a specific KOTOR2 fanart forum, under KOTOR2 section. is not a sort of request or anything similar, maybe no one will use or look it, was just an idea considering the fanart in spoiler forum.
-
There is a lot of very nice fan art in spoiler forum, but is becoming a bit difficult to find them in all the topics of the forum. as it seem that more artist wish to show their paintings and stories maybe it could be nice to have a forum used only for fanart where authors can show their works and people can easilly see them... this is just an idea...

Where did Malachor V get its name?
Zilod replied to The Great Phantom's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion

Zilod replied to The Great Phantom's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Mala form Malus/a/um = bad or evil chor can be cor = heart or maybe chorus (similar as english) or cohors (that i don't know how to translate in english for my taste i stay with evil or bad heart -
I think the exile uses the overflow of force. He is a hole in the force, so he can't feel it in himself and perceive it as in the past, but thanks to Kreia he learns (again) to hear the force around him and to use it (actually not drawing it from other people as Nihilus) In my opinion the council is trying to make him "deaf" to the force and this will make no more possible to feel the force around him.
-
i see too the Exile more as a man for Revan.... a male Revan in my opinion is a bit more dramatic for his bound with Bastila, but probably as char i see him/her more as a female, so is quite a tie

Who was the better Sith Lord?
Zilod replied to Jedi Master Revan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
That stances from Kavar (uops ) in this case is not important because he thinks she died there, but because it imply that she partecipated in mandalorian wars. we know she haven't died there, so is very likelly that she partecipated to all the war (or untill it finished). When she speak of the war, when she describe malachor and its properties, of what happened there, she seems to know it and to know in first person what happened there. She is very sympatethic (?) with the exile about his experience there and when she tells to the council to see malachor with eyes of the exile it seem to me that she saw too what happened there. Kreia was also the main/first master of Revan, and we know that Revan returned to her before to take the final decision, before he left the jedi order... It could simply be that Revan met Kreia before to enter in war, this is the most obious interpretation, but it could apply even to malachor. Malachor is a sort of point of no return, after it Revan will never be able to come back, so even this moment could fit that description and in this case we knows that kreia was present. All of these "hints" doesn't clearly stances that Kreia was on Malachor, one by one they don't tell too much, but considering all of them togather i had the idea that she was there with her pupil. for Kreia = Kae, there are really a lot of hints ingame and some things that could explain both characters... i'm more inclined to think they are 2 different people, but just because i don't see the betrayer path very applicable to Kae with the info we have. no one of these is a proof that she was on malachor with Revan, but putting all of this togather i uops poor english -
Who was the better Sith Lord?
Zilod replied to Jedi Master Revan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I think is more likelly that Kreia was on malachor with Revan or even before him. this way it makes sense when Vrook teels her that he tought she died in mandalorian wars... also during the game there is a general impression that Kreia was there during the battle. If Kreia is also Kae then she was for sure with Revan at Malachor and probably chose to estabilish there after the battle. -
Who was the better Sith Lord?
Zilod replied to Jedi Master Revan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Kreia during TSL or before it? i can't consider her a sith lord during TSL anyway i think that all the sith lords we see in TSL are extremely strong, so way more powerfull than Malak. -
mmmm at the end of the game i don't think that LS or DS makes much difference for him, he is no more under the force influence and is free, if he use the force he do that like a tool.
-
I consider Visas a pretty poweful char, she have very good stats that makes her good both with sabre and powers. I agree that the char have a lot of unexpressed potential, but even now i consider her the most important party character after Kreia... she will not tell too much , but the things she have to say about you are really important to understand who you are.
-
i don't agree too much with Malhavok's interpretation as he seem to present a "standard vision" of the force and even the enlightment path remain unexpressed. I think Obsidian tried to give a new vision of the force that is not a grey vision, but an idea of a "dominating force" The force here is more presented as a whole thing that has its own will and goals (balance). In my opinion this make TSL very itneresting for SW universe, and this idea fit extremely well in what we see happens in the new movie trilogy. the game is very deep and complex, way more of the movie, but i appreciated that... the movie story and character are developed in few hours, so generally is not really possible to buld a very complex story. for a game the thing is different and more tought can be put in it i think that the fact that developers put a lot of works to build a deep story and characters is a thing to appreciate not to blame telling that SW is a more flat galaxy.

I think too that the Exile can estabilish force bounds, but ingame there are some dialogue that show how these bounds can be just the leadership ability of the exile and have nothing to do with the force. (visas dialogue after dantooine) Is probable that all the jedi where suffering the same fate as the exile, there was a lot on discussion in a topic in this forum about kreia goals, generally i think is more likelly that the exile simply was scared enought to flee from the deaths and pain and so from the force itself. i'm more inclined to think that the Exile use the overflow of the force more than to drain it from the ones around him, he is not weaking his companions, also if the exile feed on the other is it possible that he will become another nihilus. just want to point that Kreia is not working against the Exile but for him, also she is not too interested to the jedi council, during the game her main focus is the exile (that want to turn in an example of life whitout the force) and then the sith lords mostly because they will destroy the galaxy if not stopped I agree that the force had a main part, expecially on malachor, but probably we must even the war in the equation. and all of this was done for the plan of Revan I think she is curious i don't think this is a puzzle that consumes her life, she is more focused on other things than to know why the exile have done that, for her is more important that is happened and how to five counsciosness to exile than to know why he done that. During the game she give him a bot of hints about what will happen, she tries to prepare him for the future, but she don't ask him about his past or his decisions. i think she is enlighted more than fatalistic, she see a "closed" destiny in the force, but she is fighting to give freedom to humanity. She is enslaved by the force, and she know that but still her efforts are to end that enslavement. And i don't she is anymore darth Traya when she meet the exile, she say herself that she left that role and when Atris meet her telling that she is a sith she reply that is just a title that doesn't represent her. Kreia is again your best ally, Nihilus sends Visas after you to bring you to him. he can't feel you, and when Visas betray his master he have no other way to come to you. Also during the game is stated that Nihilus can't freely move in republic space, so he simply can't just come with Visas.
-
for efficency in my opinion the best is to use the strongest jedi characters (exept Kreia) in the tomb, Visas generally end up in a powerfull and very versatile jedi, Atton is pretty good due to his skill (jedi or not), i also really like mira that can turn out to be a good defensive jedi with tons of skills. but generally 2 jedis are enought to handle it whitout many troubles, so in the end is mostly a matter of taste.
-
note that is also true and Kreia herself tells that is out of context if you make it look that Kreia says that as an explanation of her plans (as your post seemed to suppose) as said Kreias tells that when she is blaming the Exile you haven't understood me, look at what have you done... if the echose will not be stopped the galaxy will be destroyed... you have to stop that echoes. it seem quite clear that is not her plan. also i posted it more extensivelly as a reply to your post, quotin some other parts of the dialogue on dantooine (DS)
-
is also a part of the dialogue of Kreia on Dantooine (DS) if you look i quoted it before you mentioned it in your post ehi! you don't read my posts
