  1. 1: Kinda 2: yes, robes n stuff are plenty. 3: Yes. 4: No monster respawn. 5: No romance in this first game at least. Not enough money, but buy the game, and the sequal might have some. 6: yes, there is already modders working hard.
  2. Romance is worth having in games. Just look how the picture above, from a pixel-humping game, oh how it so deeply pierces the soul and describes the human condition.
  3. It's not at all your manners I'm adressing, I didn't call you impolite. But making false claims that Obsidion is not fulfilling their promises, without any facts to back it up, that's venom to a game like PoE.
  4. No, you're not obligated to anything. But don't try to disguise your venom as arguments. Stop your false accusations.
  5. I'm playing the work. So I have time to play the PoE when it arrives! Work is fun too,´just today I played 4 hours already. Didn't get anywhere thou, where's the load button.
  6. You don't seem to know any facts about what you're postulating. Their publisher didn't add money to obsidian and even if they did, dozens of things would be more important than direct mod support. Modding was in no way a big selling point. It wasn't even a selling point. They mentioned they approve of mods, but nothing more than that. Furthermore your arguments are all over the place. No, it's not DA:I, so modding is a must have then?
  7. How about you take a damn minute and actually back up your words, that you've followed the game. This game has a limited budget. And there is plenty of more important stuff than a dating simulator to attend to. So if you want a PoE romance, buy the damn game, so Obsidian can make a sequel with a budget to support a romance option.
  8. The problem is not the similarities. Inspiration is fine as already mentioned a few times. It's obvious that some features from older games in a genre will reoccur in newer titles. Like in all GTA games there are black dudes with bandanas and shades. That's all good. Characters with similar flaws or personalities are normal in the real world, so that's not something strange. The problem is formula laziness. Call up Freddie Prinze, Jr. and say:" Hey man, we just added a couple of horns to Vega from ME 3. Get this man, now he's the Iron Bull. Interested?". "Oh yeah, Freddie, you remember how Vega lost his squadron in some grand sacrifice. With Iron Bull the player can make that decision themselves, how wild is that?". Yeah.. Stuff like that is just sad.
  9. And the butthurt award of the day goes to...
  10. ToB was holding your hand and treating you like you hadn't played a game before. Spiced up with some generic npcs and mostly boring design. To finish the insult to the player, they added in a villain as forgettable as the plot of the campaign. Overall, easily the worst IE experience available. About PoE it sounds like, they want to do it right. Let's hope they succeed.
  11. Chuck Norris can punch a cyclops between the eyes! The Chuckster Golden
  12. Baldurs Gate 1 wasn't open world. Without mentioning the start of the game, you couldn't go to the cloakwoods, bandit camp, or Baldurs Gate for periods of the game. As far as I understand thou, PoE will be a little less open than BG 1 overall.
  13. This is a pretty good video for geographics and more.
  14. There will be a tutorial in the game, so the new players can ease into it. It should however be fairly obvious to the man, that it won't be placed in a backer beta that is made to for bug finding and balancing, where you start out in the middle of the game. The blame for the awful preview is on him, since he didn't plan or research what he was about to do, and hence failed to realize, that he was unable to perform his task, with the ressources he had available.
  15. Feel bad for those guys who pays for data, but I guess it can't be helped. Sweet with the steam preload! Good for 56kbps users. ;-)
  16. Pretty certain that the companions will try to reflect the complexity of real humans. Which means that they won't be good or evil, but somewhere in between.
  17. "The potion maker in the town, for instance, will wince and say the same line about her wounds, regardless of whether you kindly press her on the issue or demand that she tells you. This example seems fairly indicative of a few dialogue choices you make, and they’ve managed to write most responses in such a way that they’ll work for any speech option. However, without some form of reputation bar to nurse throughout the game, it feels as though your choices don’t make much of an overall impact." What a preview! Going into a closed beta test version with little or more likely no previous rpg experience, and not even reading up on the features of the full game or the known limitations of the beta version. I smell a pulitzer waiting around the corner!
  18. Great update. The books are looking way cool! Can't wait to fail this semester reading fiction!
  19. Beetle city!!! We need this guys! ^_^
  20. The game itself has a fair few problems, and there's a number of things I don't like about it. However, the Infinity Engine games were my favourite games as a teenager, I have spent thousands of hours playing them and the chance of having one or more series of games like that again is too great for me to pass up. If you change "game" to "blonde", it sounds like the lovestory of my life. ;-)
  21. I'll use steam, cuz I can't be bothered to google what a "GOG" or a "DRM" is. ;-)
  22. I shall play a man! I shall name him man and he shall do manly things! He shall overcompensate for the fact that I am soon to be 30 and still can't grow a respectable beard!
  23. That's a main theme for the history books! It really sets the mood when you open the game and is welcomed by this. Good job!
  24. The fact of the matter is that vendor gold limits aren't realistic in any way. Every game that has vendor gold limits fails to implement it correctly. 1) The game always fail to reflect a living world. The vendor only sells to and buys from the player. Noone else ever shops with any vendor in the game. Their gold limit is only applying to you. Or they suddenly have 5000 gold, every time 5 days has past. How is that in any way realistic? 2) Their item stock is always static. If you sell them stuff, either they will keep those items forever, or they won't have any of them one second after you sold them. They always have the same items, in every game, every single time you visit the shop. So please refrain from the realism argument.
