I'm gonna call it. The game will be dated to a winter release in 2017, and then be postponed to the spring 2018. I'll say about the same time as this one. March 2018. =)

I don't mind the game getting an 8 score, but I mind the reasoning. Too much long-winded dialogue text? And he says ps:t is the best game ever? I know taste differs, but it seem an odd critique. Especially when he concludes the review with" Pillars of Eternity effortlessly ensnares you,".

I think it's time to give this forum a rest. It's nothing but entitled this or butthurt that these days. I enjoyed the company here a lot before the release, but seems like most of the people are staying away as well. To OE, whatever you decide or the end result of this becomes, I really love the game, and I will back your next kickstarter, if you should decide to make one. Peace out.

Man there's a lot of butthurt in this thread. None of you know the circumstances of the change. You're being utterly irrational about the whole situation. To think OE is the devil now is just absurd. When you get all the facts and you're still angry, then complain. For now just take it easy and stop pouring foul on the fire.

You do know that they didn't have electric light in the renaissance. Try to light your home with candles and natural light. You will experience that corners will be dark.

See this is the problem. You're stating your opinion as a fact. Don't do that. Nobody should trash your review obviously, you're entitled to your opinion, but that's what it is. Your opinion. And how can you even ask what the hype is about? The hype is about the first IE style game in many years. People have missed a new experience like the ones we fondly remember and returns to. Another problem. ^ You pose speculation as an argument for your opinion. Your doubts are of no importance here. The hype lives on with the joy people get from the game. If you don't want to play another round, why don't you just start your 53th run of BG 2?

Devs come here from time to time, some more than others, and some not at all. But what's important is, that they read our discussions and debate them amongst themselves. They're not absent, they're just observing like the true Obsidian overlords they are.

If you follow Bryy's link in his thread, you'll see that Cities made 11.5M, which means PoE is at 7M. We don't know how the profit split with Paradox plays out, so Obs' share is more than likely less than 7M. Still, they've got to be pretty damned pleased with this. As for the backers getting the expansion free: that was actually a backer tier item, so I doubt they'll toss it to everyone for nothing. We didn't get it for free. I know what you mean Ink Blot, but saying it's for free which lead some to think of favouratism is misleading, when you paid more than 500$.

Cities: Skylines currently has several mods available for it, created by users, while Pillars of Eternity will receive an expansion in the coming months along with a sequel in the future. What? Is a sequal officially stated? I didn't know that.

I posted it, because I thought Bioware are good sports. They're former co-workers, they don't send mouth-watering cookies out of spite.

And you can't grasp the very simple idea that actively encouraging players to have sex with prostitutes in order to get resting boons might not be the brightest of social commentaries there is. It's not social commentary, that's the point! It's a part of a fictional world narrative. If you worry about social commentary, how about that you get can get adored by entire cities for killing people? I don't understand why you want to make a problem where none is. There is a problem with prostitution in the real world, how about you focus your energy there, instead of on something like this?

You don't have to explore every topic you come across. It's pretty simple actually. If OE wanted to explore prostitution, human trafficing or any other topic, they would have. But it's not really what this game is about. Does that mean, that they should exclude prostitutes from a big renaissance city? No it does not. And your lack of faith in your fellow man is insulting. No illusion of a "good borthel" is being conveyed. *Spoilers* There is even a task, where you hear about a prostitute and her choices. Mature subjects are not restricted to your choice of subjects. Show some perspective.

Okay, let's repeat this one more time:" This is a game." You can kill people, destroy people's souls, and it seems you can sleep with prostitutes aswell. But it's okay, because it's fiction, and it doesn't apply to the real world. Your morality lesson is misplaced here.
