  1. I'm *really* looking forward to the Spiritshifting druid. Shapeshifters are the only kind of druid I'm ever really interested in.
  2. Gonna have to find a new connection. Your dude in Defiance Bay is not gonna work anymore.
  3. I do understand the consternation over something like Abydon's Hammer. That should be almost as big a deal as the White Forge itself. It's a *truly* legendary item.
  4. They've said, on one of the Q&A's I believe, that some unspecified but very small number of equipment pieces will come over. I'm guessing it will be, like, two or maybe three. The Hammer of Abydon seems likely, as does St. Ydwen's Rdeemer.
  5. At least complexity is interesting. Just compare Baldurs Gate to Diablo. I played a *lot* of both BG 2 and Diablo 2.
  6. Tell that to anybody that ever threw a grenade into an elevator in Shadowrun 3rd Edition. Calculating wall-reflecting explosions reflecting off other walls quickly get's old.
  7. No, but it necessarily means that a cheap cliche is involved. No, it's just shorthand for a character archetype. Granted, it's a character archetype that I do not care about at all.
  8. Because she was the worst class in the game Please. Max out Immunity and Shield Boost, and Ashley Williams is a ****ing combat beast. And she doesn't make you want to blow your own head off from sheer boredom, which is nice.
  9. If by "bro" you mean "boring ****" and by "****" you mean "one cool ass mother****er" then yeah, you're right.
  10. Exactly. A serious gold sink, or a serious gold collection objective. I think it would give gold purpose again in a way that it was sort of lacking in Pillars once you had enough for Caed Nua's improvements. You know, unlike a lot of other people on these boards, I *NEVER* had enough gold in Pillars. I spent almost every penny, almost entirely on enchants, potions, scrolls, and ingredients for all of the above. I was broke the whole way through.
  11. Yeah, I get what your saying. Something at, like, Stormcallers power level for several thousand gold--a mid-to-end game item that makes a serious difference in gameplay and, if purchased, is also a *serious* gold sink.
  12. And this is where we see the distinction between playstyles. I literally do not give two ****s about duels, co-op, PVP, etc. I would *MUCH* rather have NPC's. MUCH rather. Like...*SO* much lmao
  13. Can't say I recall it, and can't seem to find it on Google. What are the stats? Sorry, ****ty memory. AzurEITH's stilletto. Only 305 copper, but at a time when you probably have around 100 (or at least I generally do). You'll probably have enough to get it just before Raedric's castle, but doing so will make you poor again so it's a traide off.
  14. There were fetch quests in Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate, ChronoTrigger, and the original Final Fantasy. It's one of the *oldest* quest designs. It's simple, easy to implement, doesn't take much design skill. It was an early "innovation". Interesting, exciting, multi-step quests with complexity and thought came later...like decent journals and notes telling you where the hell to go. I think a lot of a fetch quest's success falls down to how well you're able to conceal the fact that it is just that, and how the obstacles mix up the design just enough that it stops feeling like "just a fetch quest". An argument could be made that the Cult of the Unseeing Eye questline in Baldur's Gate II for example is a fetch quest, inasmuch as at the centre of it all the main conceit is that of finding, using and delivering the Rift Device. The arc surrounding the Bronze Sphere in Planescape: Torment is also compelling because of the sheer complexity involved in reaching it, too. These tend to be more questionable the more obvious and straightforward they are, however. That's all very true. Early on quests were very simple. Go here; grind a few hours; kill this monster to get item; take item to this person to get this item; take this item to this person to get other item; take other item to other person to get third item; take third item to third location to unlock fourth person to send on quest to get fourth item; take fourth item to fifth location to get item originally asked for, take back to original person. I'm looking at you, Final Fantasy I.
  15. I dunno, Azuroth's Stiletto is pretty tempting as a rogue.

  17. I'm confused. Why would you spend money to purchase games made by a specific company if you've never played the other games made by that company? You literally have no way of knowing if you enjoy them. For all you know, you could have just bought a bunch of games you hate and wasted all your money.
  18. The only thing i said is that i don't think you can discuss the topic of pre buffing while ignoring the problem of spam rest. Whether or not it's even defined as a problem is the reason that other thread went on for 9 pages.
  19. Hmm. There is more information about Godlikes from the Fig campaign, but...spoilers.
  20. Let's make this clear: Obisidian loves making games, and Obsidian loves making character-driven computer RPG's, but at the end of the day Feargus runs a *business*, and his goal is to make a profit. Not to make fanboys love him.
  21. Just leave your politics out of the board. They don't belong here. Don't rant about gender equality, don't go off about SJW's, don't bitch about other peoples views on equality. Just talk about game mechanics and characterization. Look, I'm *crazy* far left. You can tell that. But I don't go off on tangents about how Grieving Mother represents the game designers suppressed liberal guilt for abandoning the pursuit of aid for the foster system in order to focus on other goals. Is it relevant? I could argue that it is. I could use your argument and others. But I don't, because this is a video game forum and politics don't belong here. Especially your rant about about the end of civilization because women have to breed; none of that had **** to do with video games, it was just a bunch of your political opinions. None of that belongs here. Politics belongs in Off Topic. SJW stuff belongs in Off Topic. You want to see if it works in this forum? Start a thread; see if it's popular, if it get's shut down, etc. I'll stay the hell out of it, because I want nothing to do with politics.
