That is the problem here. You can safely assume that they do NOT have the rights to use the Black Isle Logo. I would love if we could use that logo, especially for the sails of our ship, how awesome would that be? But I think it's a safe bet that we cannot use that logo. We could probably use the logo of our Black Isle Bastards badge if you guys like that. You're right. But I have an idea. The closest thing Obsidian has to a "logo" is the letter "o" in a special font, right? This would be subtle. Not everybody would get it. But make an ornate wooden shield with an obsidian inlay, blending into that special "O" character that is the "Obsidian" logo. The Black Isle Bastards special item is an Obsidian shield, perhaps once per encounter it summons a bear when critically struck.

Honestly, you could just look at Tyranny for a lot of UI enhancements to steal. I really liked a lot of what they did with that.

Got a cipher orlan, you see? Played with Aloth, Eder, Pallagina, you see? Gotta see it all the way through. Can't give up on it now. Party size has dropped, however. So. 1) Me. Cipher. In the back, casting. Escaped orlan former slave...from the Deadfire. 2) Aloth, hanging out with me, casting in the back. 3) Eder. Tanking up front, taking hits for me. 4) Pallagina, doing the same. 5) This was Durance in PoE 1, here I don't know. On a second playthrough, maybe Ydwin? But on a first playthough, I'd want somebody with a storyarc of their own. Right now, I have no real clue. Just...somebody new.

Pointy hats for wizards are impractical and not historically accurate. Same for godtouched and adra pillars, but they're damned cool!

The combination of the the Age of Colonization/Sail/Discovery (makes for lots of conflict combined with a wide open world and a sense of wonder), the combination of the physical reality of souls and the relatively recent takeoff of the science surrounding them (opportunity for mirroring real-world issues, again lots of conflict, lots of philosophy), general darkness including lots of dark humor but with spots of hope, subversion's of typical of fantasy genres.

Don't give them ideas! There are some people who will take that as a challenge... 3D printers are changing lots of established norms.

An absolutely epic game of our generation has to have sexy chickas. No. No, it doesn't. Sexy chickas is *NOT* a requirement for an awesome anything. Sex does not equal good anything.

Pretty much, for my first two run throughs at least. For my third and further, I'll mix it up more.

From scrolls, yes. And they can use their soul-power to do strikes, but they can't cast actual spells from their own power, because they don't have the training to know how to do so.

Why can't I have the guy with no magic try to cast a spell? OK, this can be the ultimate troll design! Have all spells available for all characters and let them try cast them only to fizzle and gain a "red head" debuff Yes! Because players can't be trusted to understand that their fighter/rogue/barbarian can't cast, so you should totally expect that everybody will be totally fooled and will constantly be unaware of who to pick to cast a spell! It'll be HILARIOUS!

It *is* as simple as including both "burn to death" and "beat to death" options and just letting the player choose the one that fits their character, however! After all, I can have the guy with 8 Might try to bend those bars, can't I? Why can't I have the guy with no magic try to cast a spell?

We could also have it summon "one of many bears".

I do sure hope he walked into a bunch of writers offices and was like, "Look here, these ****ers have been bitching about might since you **** ****ed up the scripted interactions in the first game. I another wizard is forced to bend iron bars with his "might", it's bread and water for a week!"

Yeah, and those innuendos were patently ****ing ridiculous. I'm near the *bottom* of the socio-economic ladder; I had to work my ass up from living under a bridge five years ago. I'm *definitely* a member of the BIB, badge or not, and I *definitely* contributed what I could to this campaign, and I don't feel the list bit like this is any money-club.

I'm convinced that's still not fixed. Considering every time Obsidian fixed it the bug appeared somewhere else, I'm convinced it's not a bug but some sort of Kickstarter curse, and Obsidian had to make a hidden secret level that nobody can access where the stacking bug lives now. It honestly pissed me off. My first complete game--which is a 100% or damn-near game!--doesn't have any achievements, 'cuz I had to cheat to fix my damn stats. All I did was reset them, too!

Other than t he stat-boosting bug that hit almost everyone, same is true of me.

Didn't BG2 ship something like five million copies?
