  1. My Fig: $80 My BIB: $21 My total: $101 That would mean an upgrade from bronze to silver in my case. You're a perfect example of what Fluffle is afraid if, I think. That is, if his keeping the badge means that our donations can't count towards upgrading the forum badges, then you and people in that position get screwed out of a badge. This is one of the times where being piss-poor means I don't have to care.
  2. You may have misunderstood. You would be only able to upgrade your Deadfire Backer Badge by the amount of your donation to the Black Isle Bastards. You cannot in any case upgrade your own private tier from the Fig campaign by the amount of your donation here. That has never been possible. Right, but my Deadfire Backer Badge only reflects money spent on the Fig campaign because that's all I spent money on other than this campaign. I didn't literally mean upgrading the tier itself. There actually isn't a 40 dollar tier, although there is a 45 one. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
  3. I say, take that eleven bucks and buy yourself a joint (or your intoxicant of choice) and kick back, admiring a campaign well done and a goal well achieved.
  4. You did *all* the work. You came up with the idea, pitched it, took all the responsibility for getting it done, did all the formatting, took care of all the paperwork, ran the paypal, hounded mother****ers back and forth across the Internet for weeks. You did the talks with Obsidian, you pushed everybody to keep trying when I personally really though this was gonna fail out. You talked a broke-ass mother****er in a trailer park into donating ten bucks to a campaign that *could* have went towards weed, do you know how hard that is to do?! You *earned* that badge.
  5. I've seen that badge before! What is that badge fore and how do you get it? It's the coolest looking badge!
  6. Are you still planning on giving the rewards to the highest donator? Or, I guess second-highest since the highest was all super anonymous and whatnot? I'm jealous of that mousepad lol
  7. Not so much. The people of Ruatia are amaua, but they are most assuredly *NOT* Huana. According to Obsidian, they explicitly consider the Huana to not have real "civilization" and that what they do have is inferior to Ruatai. They are members of the same species, not the same civilization. Though yes, it seems pretty clear that Deadfire is based on the mass European cluster-****ing of the Spice Islands.
  8. Fixed it (I'm also very tired xD) "Wtf beard?" *re-reads* "Oh..." The obsidian gem/ring/amulet/insignia thing sounds cool imo. Also, what if the item could be a morphing item? Forge it at the Black Isle, decide whether it's going to be a Sword, Axe, Dagger, Poleaxe, etc. or etch it into a ring, or amulet, etc. Someone mentioned lightsaber, and I started thinking now "What if it's a ring, and it's capable of manifesting a light, an illusion of a weapon". A Lightaxe, Lightsword, Lightdagger etc. the Player would get to decide which form it takes (to accomodate most playstyles). Maybe it could even have a Per Rest ability "Summon" or "Conjure", and either it takes up the characters weapon slot when summoned/conjured, or simply floating/hovering (Dancing Blades~). Extremely complicated, although *very* cool.
  9. Well, her wiki page says she is from Naasitaq, which is part of the Deadfire Archipelago. Although a very southern part of the archipelago. She even says that she is from the Deadfire Archipelago when you ask her about her homeland. So, she could still return, just not as a companion. The Deadfire Archipelago stretches over *THOUSANDS* of miles, going from the northern temperate region to, as you pointed out, the southern polar region. There is no way we will see even a significant portion of it in this game. It is entirely possible to explore the Deadfire for decades and never come close to Naasitaq. She's in the Deadfire, allright. Right at the southern tip, in the part that is climatically identical to the White That Wends in every way. I can't confirm, but I imagine it's a lot like the South Orkney Islands; identical to Antarctica, located in the Antarctic island chain, in every way a part of Antarctica---but it's clearly Argentina.
  10. They have that. It's called MMORPG's.
  11. Devs already mentioned that the default combat speed is going to be as Slow Mode is in PoE1. Plus some spells will take longer to cast, but will deal more damage. That's...unfortunate. Slow mode is unbearably slow indeed.
  12. Sagani's homeland is the White that Wends, that's the Southerns polar region. Aloth, Eder, and Pallegina are the returning companions.
  13. But you have to give up all the bonuses from your turtleneck and one thin-ass chain. PS: I'm still pimping the name "Beta Protocol". A weapon is always a last resort for a pirate, after all. What you *want* is a bloodless surrender.
  14. We *have* those, in real life. Thrift stores buy our junk *all the time*.
  15. Take it one step further, right? The Black Isle Bastards are BASTARDS, right? Literally bastards, of noble houses? Being hunted by said noble houses? The rings are signet rings, the obsidian are noble isgnias. They are mocking noble isgnias and/or setting up their own noble house.
  16. I assumed that the amulet slot would be the same slot it was in PoE. I saw no reason to think it would change for no reason.
  17. - "I came here to sell my junk." - "Sure, let me see your junk first." Yes. Best approach. Problem with, say, Tyranny and their approach is that I didn't know the special category was for vendor trash. I thought it might have some use, so didn't sell any of it my first playthrough!
  18. I would *LOVE* to buy the badge; it would be an honor and a privilege to me. But unfortunately, I live on a fixed disability income, and at this time of the month I simply *don't* have eight dollars to spare. I had to cover an additional $349 in property taxes this month, so it was a bit of a miracle that I was able to contribute the 10 bucks to the donations at all (and it took some doing to do!), though on the plus side I now own the title to my trailer (yay!).
  19. Tomorrow my master chokes on his own whip.
