A Barbarian with Sneak Attack, and someone who casts CC spell as backup sounds very fun. You could maul a room full of enemies ridiculously fast. Actually I think of saccing a bit of Might for Per on barb to have more accurate carnage + better interrupt and maybe follow it up with Interrupting Blows. That talent will give 15% dmg so that lets me sac might a bit for per. You can build a barb with M 18 D 14 C 10 P 16 I 16 R 4 Which is going to be pretty devastating. Glass canon tho, but as lons you have a decent front line it will do just fine. Good conversation options, too. I don't dump stas to 3-4. I find it anticlimatic The least I will put is 7. And I still roll over POTD atm You can probably take 1-2 points from Per and Int. It won't matter much. I never complained about my barb though. He's a beast:D

I never really use Rolling Flame. What sort of abuse? That spell always looked very weak to me I cleared entire keep (Raedric, entire top floor, all flanks, all underground along with Osyrya or w/e her name is) in 2 rests and I didn't mind druid die. He died because I was laughing my ass off @my guildies from WoW on TS3 during their raid XD so duh XD I blamed them for that death!

This *really* needs to be made more clear in the actual expansion. The way it's worded is ambiguous at best, and players who head to Cragholdt right off the bat are in for a *VERY* rough time of things. I've never seen that kind of targeted "kill the squishie" obsession in enemies before and it was....surprising. It *almost* frustrated me enough to stop playing. The Steward in Caed Nua said outright that I'd be outmatched if I went there when my party was all level 7, and said I should avoid it until I was stronger. Not really sure how much clearer it could be without breaking the fourth wall. I don't recall seeing any warning with my level 11 party, and every battle through the place was like fighting Raedric...only worse, because Raedric was simply overpowering my party while everybody in Cragholdt were consistently bypassing my front line and just straight face-stomping my casters. On topic: Challenge is good. Can't wait to get to them! Offtopic Funny that you mention Raedric. My NPC druid died on the blanks in his hold so I was down to 5 guys (i don't load on deaths) but decided that leaving and recruiting another while in the middle of an attack on the castle would be immersion breaking for me. So I pushed on with 5 guys lvl 3-4 and pretty much stomped raedric and his forces flat. Fun part is that the hardest fight came after when I had literally almost nothing at all left and thought dudes above will be friendly now with Kolsc on the throne. Boy was I wrong. Entire room in the chapel (one with hidden cache in eye sockets in the skulls on the wall) cam running to me. Just barely won. 6 more endurance and Eder would RIP xD By this point my team with the exception of barbarian is all Companion based and they are still pretty good for POTD. Some tips: Body block tight areas so they cannot get to your casters (need AI off most of the time), have your squishies equip the best shield + hatchet (in one of their weapon sets slots) for huge boost in survi in a pinch. Have them have 1-2 HOT potions. Make use of Stasis Shield and similar spells. On my PC Mage first thing I picked was Veil

What's your perception and accuracy? and talents? My barb started slow but lvl 3+ he started rolling. Also be sure to BLIND, PRONE etc enemies. I got my barb Soldier proficiency first (since it affects normals + carnage) and then getting +carnage then some 2h style. Also priests Per Encounter skill (forgot the name) with talent gives +5 acc for ~20s so that's another thing to use. THEN after you get +6 acc from proficiency, THEN take endurance regen imo. Worked for me. Wizard's lv 2 AoE blindness and lv 1 chill fog or w/e giving blind helps attackers a lot. Support your muscle with debuffs. There is also Respec option. Lower lvl = less gold paid.

I can choose all class talents
Killyox replied to Vicar in a tutu's question in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
It's not a bug. They are minor versions of other classes skills and that's a WM feature. Tey aren't as powerful as other classes' but they unlock some options. -
Defender 2.0 beta nerf
Killyox replied to limaxophobiacq's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Tbh I don't care one bit about Defender and Wary Defender Dude, I don't know what release you're playing, but in the 2.0 I'm playing defender definitely lowers your deflection by 5 points, check again. Also, veteran recovery is rounded up to 2 with just a bit of might, and has no duration, while now constant recovery, which heals for 3 with might <= 19 (IIRC) only lasts 90 seconds now, so it's basically a weaker and less versatile form of lay on hands. That's a huge blow to the fighter's survability, and, really, they don't have that much going for them aside from survability. Give fighter Lore + Survival, Moonwell Scrolls + Healing Over Time potions (more heal/dur with survi). You are durable, can heal, can sling some spells. Your health will more likely run out before your endurance so you can always have bandage for that too -
So that was terrible...

Enemies 2.0
Killyox replied to ruzen's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Don't see jump in difficulty tbh. Sure, enemies sometimes dart to squishies but besides that I don't feel it being any harder. -
Part of the reason I don't min max. I don't like chars wit 2 stats dumped to get 2 others high. Breaks my immersion. I cover these deficiencies by better planning during fights. My problem during first walkthrough (on hard) was that the game was too easy. So on POTD I refrain from minmaxing to not make it too easy. Will be funny to see Fallout 4 when you can start with stats ~2-3 in all on a scale 1-10 XD

Love the expansion, but...
Killyox replied to Grimo88's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
In general I really dislike how they made companions in POE huge missed opportunity. I can recommend everyone on the team playing Shadowrun: Dragonfall or Shadowrun: Hong Kong and see how they managed companion interactivity there. Here they could pretty much not exist at all. Are the new ones at least more interactive than oldies? -

Each of form skills is per rest. Stag's the best out of all imo and changing gives you +7 to all defenses as well. Two weapon style does affect spirit form attack but before getting it it's better to get 30% elemental dmg and Monk-thingy first. Then either two weapons style or peasant focus. You will want both tbh Stag Carnage is a game changer. It really can turn the fight around the most from forms' skills. With high Int it will also cover huge area as well.
