So technically for backing up tier with first +expansion I will end up paying more... . Exp was +$20 so if I buy part #2 I will end up at $35 vs $25. If so then I will be disappointed. Unless somehow this includes Part 1 & Part 2 (which would make sense since part 1 of expansion pack is just...a part of it) EDIT: Nvm, found info that backers with expansion tier get both parts. So all's good.

With Cat form, 18+ DEX and dual wield talent it's just a hurricane. With 19+ INT spiritshift lasts 20+sec. It's 1\3 of fight even on PotD. And don't forget about spells. Really, druid now is a little OP i think. What's with all you people saying fights last only seconds? The fights which really matter last a few minutes and who cares how good an ability is if you only fight some random human foes? I never had a fight that lasted more than 25s on hard diff . Well, maybe theos lasted 30-40s He didn't like his own giant killing him

Whoa, Druids' base Accuracy sure is low! 20, just like the other casters. It's not the base accuracy that's the problem - it's the lack of a scaling accuracy bonus for Spiritshift weapons. Spiritshift sucked, and still sucks, for two reasons: garbage accuracy, and the fact that you could be casting spells instead. They scale. At least in 2.0 @12 lvl spiritshift weapons have +12 Acc. My drood had 66 Acc with wild strike modal enabled (-accuracy). He hits so hard that he doesn't even need high accuracy. He also had DR of 14 in spirit form so pretty good seeing as it didn't slow him down at all. Whoa, Druids' base Accuracy sure is low! Who needs more when you do 60-120+ hits every half second ?

Weapon Style - Two Weapons + Proficiency in Paesant(?) weapons + Wild Strike Modal + elemental dmg(fire) + scion of flame (?). 19 might (I use different language version so I don't exactly remember english names for some stuff ) My drood leveled to 12 to check stuff with the above attacked very fast and did ~60-120 dmg per hit. ~38-56 character sheet displayed dmg with Wild Strike then 45% dmg added from beast talent but all that(fire) is also increased by additional 25% from Scion. End result? 60-120+ hits with very quick speed. It actually IS worth putting points in beastie now altough it still lasts not too long but with spells + form it's really good now. He ALMOST rivals my Battle Mage. Battle Mage with proper spells is still a God of Battle with Alacrity, Citzal and so on XD. Druid wins in having form per encounter while Wiz is limited by per rest higher lvl spells.

How are you guys using food?
Killyox replied to Kirkibost's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I'm not. Too annoying and I don't really need it. Playing Hard for fun but 99% of the time I don't use any food or potions. I can go for hours playing without the need to rest my party XD. If they made food buffs last until next rest I would be willing to use more of it (and it would actually reward playing with limited resting too) -
Why is this game so hard?
Killyox replied to Devious13's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
It's not really hard. Just needs some getting used to mechanics and understanding them. I played a bit of POTD but it was more of a hassle and cheesing than actual fun gameplay for me so instead I started another hard (not so hard) and doing what I wanted to have fun with - melee/combat mage (which is actually helluva strong!!!) -
Now that is something i can get behind. CDPR and Chris Avellone? Yes please! Dude CDPR is a polish studio, and the writers are polish as well. The game was written in poilsh and what we get is merely a translation. I know a polish guy on Steam who claims the english translation is "competent" at best, and fails to convey a lot of stuff. I highly doubt CDPR would even contact Avellone. There'd be massive communication problems if Avellone was writing in English and the rest of the people in Polish. Really sad to see Avellone go. He's easily my favourite writer when it comes to videogames. I wonder what lies ahead for Obsidian without one of its key people (and to me, the most important person there). This isn't entirely true. It's based in Poland with most people being Polish but there are a lot of guys from other countries. My good friend (who worked at BioWare then EA then another place) told me recently that another person from BioWare joined CDPR. So that's another foreigner on the team. Just because they are polish studio doesn't mean they are Polish-only. As for Chris I dunno how much he actually brought into POE or FNV. Studios are teams not 1 man armies. While he is certainly talented Obsidian still has a lot of talented people. I wish him all the best and I look forward to his future endeavours.

Battle Wizard can be now really really strong. Citzal's spear + some other def spells + L3 +50% attack speed and defensive one +def, ref +50% hits to grazes and foe only concelhuts corrosive that leeches endurance is really nice. Been doing ultra fast 50+ aoe hits with citzal and with 100 accuracy:P

There's nothing impossible for casual player at normal/easy. Avg person has enough IQ to deal with fights at those levels.

I was a bit disappointed to find that monsters only differed in stats and skills but not special characteristics. Why not make so that you can't Blind skeletons for example or that jellies are immune to sicken and so on. Would further force to develop new tactics depending on the fight. I would love to have POTD number of monsters without stat increase which I do find a bit cheesy, altough not that hard

So he has no skills and 10 in all stats but I actually checked attack speed of most pets and wolf has the fastest. He attacks every 3,4s vs bears 5,1 and lions 4,9 (did it quite a few times with timer in hand). So there's that about wolf. He also has higher defense when walking away from engaged enemy btu even tooltip says that so no new news here.

I think classes like Fighter/Paladin/Rogue etc should have more per encounter skills. For example paladin's Deprive the Unworthy would be sweet pick if it was 2x per Encounter or even 1x instead of 2x per Rest. Same with Sworn Enemy which only increases paladins own damage and acc and not that of entire party. Why is Liberating Exhortation 2x PE and DtU 2x PR ? Same could be said about quite a few barb/monk/fighter/rogue skills. They should/could use them more often as in from fight to fight but less in a fight and with less powerful effect than a caster which often has AoE and so on. Not saying it's bad or anything but some choices are far better than the rest.

Set traps and all your party besides tank downstairs around the corner of a column. Put trap there. stun them there in a pack. Aoe the hell out of them. Was a real faceroll tbh. If your fighters have Lore 4-6 give them fan o f flames scrolls + shocking grasp and maybe lightning. Plate armor NPCs wear are susceptible to lightning dmg and all of them have low reflex save.

I seriously advise picking Pale Elf. They get +10 Fire & Cold Damage Reduction. Flat +10. NOT %. Makes Phantoms and all a whole lot easier:D also for me 14/10/10/15/14/15 works well. Int for extra aura + longer duration on buffs and bigger aoe on spells from scrolls. Also more dialog options especially if you get +stats on different items.
-
For dialogue options? Are there many, or is it a story thing? Druid can replace a wizard in offensive spells? Cipher to? The classes in this game are nothing like I thought they were. Paladin gets an ability that automatically increases their defenses as long as they keep to the dogma of their order. If you choose all of the dialogue options that are with the order you choose, your main character's defenses skyrocket. This only effects the main character because the main character is the only person who can choose dialogue options. Cipher is arguably the strongest spellcasting class in the game. And the druid is much stronger than the wizard early on. lol i got paladin in like 3 parties of mine on various difficulties and i was completely shocked to realize that they have to be main character to get buffs from they order , WHAT THE HELL....., to help the OP : Priest's are mandatory( Max INTELECT Max MIGHT is the way to go ) , i mean not on normal you can do fine without them but they are probably the only class that cannot be replaced in this game , they justs rock so get a priest as one of your companions , As mentioned earlier if you want paladin in your party then make it your main character 10 10 3 18 18 18 build will open you dialogue options for whole game from Perception Intelect and Resolve thats more than half of them , also you pick an order with paladin and then if you follow their path you get awarded with huge buffs , and you can easily follow your doctrine by enabling game suggestions for dialogue choices in options menu , Rogue and Ranger - choose 1 both of them should be ranged anyway , melee rogue's just doesnt work well or they require more Micromanaging than other classes meanwhile not delivering the results , for typical marksman with a bow go for Rogue(ranged) and if you want to be an epic gunslinger go with ranger and island aumaua race , for both ranged rogue and a ranger primary stats are Might and DEX and others doesnt matter much so max thease two . Caster - Wizard or Druid both are good both are fun choose the one you like more , druid can do some healing as a backup healer but tbh with a priest you wont need anymore healing , and mage is more of CC kinda guy , but both of them Mage and Druid has epic AOE nukes that combined with priests aoe heals and buffs is the key of this game tbh , get Might and Intelect maxed for thease 2 for max Damage and AoE radius . and btw Wizards dont suck people playing them do , look at the guy who finished PoTD+Ironman on his first full playtrough and his PC was a wizard . I played with both Wizard and Druid as sole Spell damage char on PoTD and both worked very well druid is more flashy imo but mage is more reliable . this leaves you with two spots to fill : 2nd tank and melee dps for a tank you can choose either fighter or chanter and for melee dps barbarian or fighter also if you dont like barbarians and chanters you can go fighter tank and just get another ranged like cipher or another caster , fighter main tanks are easy mode tho and helps your playtrough alot , so are DPS cipher's as i heard here on forums tho i never played cipher or fighter so i cant comment on thease , i ussualy run with Chanter+Paladin as my tanks , well if characters role is as useless as being damage sponge they could atleast buff the party thats my aproach and Chanter + Paladin is extreme aoe utility that you dont even need to cast it just happens from their auras and chants I did whole hard without priest xD In POTD he is more useful due to prolonged battles but not indispensible.
