Your thoughts on multi-classing
We have this slavic saying: if something is good for everything, then it also is good for nothing.

How can they make P:E interesting at 'Epic' levels?
Messier-31 replied to Death Machine Miyagi's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Here I go jabberin' again... Maybe no "epic" levels whatsoever? Or at least not so straight-forward? Maybe the character progression could have a more earthbound resemblance, so you will not end up as a demigod, destroyer of worlds. Even though you gain experience, develop your PC, there is this possibility you could get beaten by some minor guards - inferior to you, but still posing a threat. Yeah, who would have fun from that, anyway?

i hope ther be a LOT OF

Your thoughts on multi-classing
Ditto. Most of them even don't make any sense, like Baker/Plumber in RL.

What Made The Baldur's Gate's Great That Eternity NEEDS
Messier-31 replied to I_SERVE_THE_FLAMING_FIST's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)What, quantity? There are going to be at least eight companions in the final game. This number does not include the companions from the Adventurer's Hall. Great summary, mate Again, use of monks in fantasy makes me chuckle. I know that there was an update about them already, but still - come on! Monk-tank! Seriously? How was that even brought upon consideration? What, are they gonna pray their foes to death? Maybe teach them a lesson of kung-phooee? - "Hello, sir. Do you have time to talk about our lord and saviour?" - "I surrender, but please, shut him up!"

Update #65: Ciphers
So a generic BOOGA WOOGA EAT YOUR FACE MONSTER? No thanks. They're supposed to be an intelligent race with their own society, not MONSTARS THAT EAT YO FACE. The original art shows a creature that I find mysterious, even illusive... but most of all intelligent and dangerous. The art proposed by Bester... well, let's just say that a B-class horror movie director would be proud!

What do we know about children?
Morals, morals... You don't see indestructible children in novella or movies. If playing a PANCAKE TYCOON will not make you a pastry chef... or a buisness man for that matter... If playing some type of SUPER SOCCER will not make you a top-shelf football player... Will playing a game with killing anyone make you a murdering sociopath?

I want another Bowser or Gannon
I know - this was my explication of thoughts about a developed archenemy that "should be" confronted via battle. My answer to the OP's query is available on page 1.

I want another Bowser or Gannon
WARNING: Possible spoilers to follow! There are many interesting ways to go through for a cool, climatic, epic, whatever, story ending, like: inevitable main boss at the end, perishes from your hand (evil, I smite thee) - e.g. Baldur's Gate kill everyone (wake up, breakfast, death, death, death, afternoon tea, death) - e.g. Septerra Core survive bloody waves of enemies and pick a path (what does the red button do?) - e.g. Mass Effect 3 have a few shots of vodka with your nemesis and fight him or walk away (see ya!) - e.g. Witcher 2 spoil the plans of the bad guy(s) and get the hell outta there (all your base are belong to us) - e.g. Fallout * * note that in Fallout you could either fight the boss, set up a bomb, or talk your way out of trouble (or join them, even!) - and that's the way to go! Choices! Choices are the most important thing in a role-playing game and they don't interfere with a developed villian. You just decide what to do with him at the end - could be the ultimate showdown, could be something else. You decide, it's your game (sort of).

Cinematics : your opinion ?
There should be a few. Dunno about the way they should be done, though. But I expect more in-game cut-scenes.

What do we know about children?
I agree. But isn't it odd killing a person in a video-game, and next by them stands this child made out of indestructible concrete? That their loudness is too damn high!

Do not forget the happy endings ;)
You mean "Return of the Jedi" ?

How many [Rings]?
... crafted from individually-enchanted rings! o_o... ... Dear gods... Sweet mother of mercy... I want SWORD-CHUCKS next (like nun-chucks, but with swords! and yeah, idea taken from 8-bit Theater). A warrior wielding sword-chucks and wearing a ringmail fighting a dire wererabbit! Epic. @Osvir - still making concepts

How many [Rings]?
So only 1 character could get a maximum amount of rings in this case? (The others getting perhaps... 4-6 tops) Another idea: Different fingers giving different strengths? (...) Geez, don't you guys see how much this is getting more and more complicated? Come on, I bet you will have tons of better things to do in a cRPG than to arrange your jewelry on your fingers like some bloody popinjay
-
How many [Rings]?
Well, sure, but as long as they don't stack! Otherwise that would mean more ordinary rings that do nothing, or next to nothing. Even so, I think that multiple rings with some benefits would make a character over the top really quick. If somebody insists, one could ware many rings on each finger, like 5 at a time. Quick math = 50. So, there still are necklaces. Other trinkets - earrings, maybe? A magical earring would be piratey, ARR!

Permanent Injuries
Wow, this brings back memories. One of my WHFR characters had some serious foot damage infliction, and since that accident I had to roleplay a limping warrior. It was pretty hard rolling for everything that required dexterity, but somehow we managed to pull this off in the long run. Being already an advanced adventurer at the time, rumours were heard across the land about a limping human warrior with a 2-h-sword wreaking havoc amidst his foes. I think permanent injuries are worth considering in cRPG games, but these should not be possible early in the game and rely on some luck, I guess. As characters may permanently die, so there should be place for other unpleasant possibilities e.g. broken finger (treatable) or limb loss (or is it too much?).
