  1. So when the MS guy that introduced it, says it makes sense why they skipped 9 ... is it true. He said something like, when you see 10 as a whole, you'll understand.
  2. Oh, for the love of ... christ, what else is actionable.
  3. I'm saying he's a Germanic hedge troll variant, the only species that puts effort into precisely accurate spelling.
  4. Do moderators have the power to see if two posters are the same IP, the same Internet Person ...
  5. Flashbacks ... or acid reflux ... *erp*
  6. Me too, despite how long it takes me to remember which buttons to press, and when. I found this very helpful, if brief. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, as long as I keep at it. I've never played the games that inspired this one. http://www.shacknews.com/article/86491/shadow-of-mordor-primer-stepping-into-the-ring
  7. I was just about to say people are confusing their RAM and vRAM. No game ever, requires 6GB on-card vRAM. I see it clearly states that, however. Still not buying it. The requirement, I mean. Look, it says 8MB of system RAM, not GB. Someone's kid is slapping the keyboard at Steam's system requirements page. Edit: Can't find any info disproving the 6GB thing. Now I want to know just how many cards even come with that much. One, or two. I see three, GTX Titan Black, R9 290X/295X2, and a one-off 280X from MSI.
  8. Aww jeez, not smoking, it's like the best, worst thing, ever. The lamest, yet most rewarding non-task. The loudest silent voice over one's shoulder. No cold turkeys were harmed in this decision, thanks to electronic delivery, and the goal isn't to live longer, that would be a silly anti-climax. It's the stank. No amount of mints or hand soap fends off the radiation. Either you're clean, or you're not, and not is just a nasty monkey flinging ashes and poop. Chicks don't dig it, either.
  9. Sure, no booze or soda, understandable, but coffee ... a fast too great.
  10. Last Tuesday, Disney Infinity 2.0. Last physical PC game, Skyrim Legendary Edition, early last year I think.
  11. Completely unexpected, but the best new film commentary is on Captain America: The Winter Soldier. For once, a track without banter or glad-handing, just co-directors and co-screenwriters concisely relevant and insightful. All four are pros with good speaking voices and amazing film knowledge. They took inspiration from seventies conspiracy thrillers, Three Days of the Condor, Marathon Man, with elements, homages, and outright steals from The French Connection, Heat, Star Wars, The Dirty Dozen, Rocky, director Brian DePalma ... and the biggest reveal in plain sight, the title, Winter Soldier, is not only the comic book character, but it refers to Cap himself, the opposite of Thomas Paine's "summer soldier" line, first written in 1776 following his most famous, "These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country." A 240-year old reference from the American Revolution right on the billboard, not bad.
  12. Amazing-looking velvet cloak texture.
  13. I thought my game was laughing at me, because I couldn't figure out how to pan the camera down. Edge-scrolling only works top and sides, until I used the down arrow key. Pressing the center mouse wheel and rotating only works partially. None of this matters for PoE, though, I believe, which is another reason I'll be happy to wait.
  14. Who says PR doesn't work. That piece on Jason Witten before the game made me fall in love with the guy. And almost root for Dallas tonight. See, the league doesn't have systemic, endemic faults--as long as guys like Witten are pounding turf. Also, 3-1 feels good. As good as 75% of anything possibly can.
  15. Time with Wasteland 2 made me feel below average as a strategist, and that an ideal character build takes a lot of trial and error. Maybe it's supposed to be that way, and I'm definitely at a deficit intellectually ... but after the umpteenth gun jam, I thought, maybe I'll wait until someone else comes up with a character rope line across the game's stumbly bits. Or not, and just wait until Numenera and Pillars of Eternity do one of two things, reinforce my average joe gamer deficiencies, or let me have fun in spite of them.
  16. I want to start over, too. No one has Demolitions, since I thought, well, there is no Disarm Traps, so ... so every booby trap is boobying spectacularly.
  17. Star-Lord on the season premiere of SNL tonight. Love the Chris Pratt.
  18. Gadzooks, why is everyone coming up bald-faced backwards today. Backward-facing bald asses. Ass-facing bald backs.
  19. There's nothing left to salve, or save. Troll blew up like Arzt on LOST. (Albeit much more insensitively ... Leslie was a delightful character, helpful, funny ... not at all like bits up there.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=35kWxQCTuWA
  20. Clearly they don't play video games very much. To wit: Whereas GI states:
  21. It's funny, people couch their play-through reviews as rants, interchangeable as those terms have become, I guess. Blunt and blade 'choices' are still there, just as perks. The game itself was billed from the start to offer massive quantities in favor of specific qualities. More macro-fun, less micro-interest. Still and all, it was amusing enough for four full games myself.
  22. What do you mean supremely under-optimized. Asking for a friend.
  23. Shadow of Mordor is getting lit up all over the place. 9.5 Polygon, 8.25 Game Informer, 9.3 IGN, 9/10 Shacknews, 84 Metacritic. Looks like Tuesday will be a day-off.
  24. Yeah, my socks came right off. I even like what they're doing with Ward. He seems to be in an interesting place, not an agent, not with Hydra, no longer lying to anyone, including himself. Definitely did not see it coming, with Fitz and Simmons. Which says a lot, since most 'newly outed relationships' take a turn off the interesting cliff. The reason she left seems out of character, though. Some good fights, too. Agent May kicked Creel to the ground like a street thug chump.
  25. Beer is better than that cinna-whisky I had. I mean it tastes great, nice cinnamon burn, but that's the problem, I kept drinking it straight, then got behind the wheel of a keyboard and blacked out, something I never do, horribad posting a bunch of stuff I regret. Self-control, what's that.
